This is not a beginners game in my opinion as I am not a beginner and I Loved it. I don't want my games harder just relaxing and fun. You start out on a cruise and end up in Greenland. You search a Viking ship and then your off to different dimensions.

There are 7 chapters and the trial ends at the beginning of chapter 3. I would like to see this series without the dark doppelgangers. I liked ...Show more

Detectives United lll Timeless Voyage is a terrific game that I thoroughly enjoyed playing from the first scene straight through to the end of the Bonus Chapter. What can I say but that I loved this game! It is certainly one that I will add to my collection and play again and again. The Detectives United games have all been excellent and I applaud the bringing together of the detectives from other popular series produced by this developer.

Yes, I admit that I am a bit tired of the same things that need to be found – hundreds of keys, candles, pieces of portraits and whatever else it is we must find. At this point I have played nearly 2,000 HOPA games and I still love them because I play for the storylines, the graphics, the characters and yes, even the joy of finding those bits and pieces. The storyline in Timeless Voyage is very creative with our characters moving back and forth between the past, present, and future to solve the case. The gameplay was enjoyable, as were the HOS.

The HOS were a mix of silhouette and lists and most were creative. Some of the HOS were ones I thoroughly enjoyed although there were two scenes where the items were almost invisible, and I completed those by clicking around the scenes and using a few hints. I enjoyed the two scenes where we had to match swatches to parts of the picture where they are found. Sad to say but I did skip several of the puzzles because I hate flipping one thing that will change others or navigating a boat down a river. Most of the other puzzles were okay but seemed far too easy.

This developer does not provide a lot of collectibles, but I did appreciate that many were not activate until we visited some scenes more than once. I felt that this was a great touch that added to the gameplay. I also appreciated the slide out bar on the right side of the screen that had a tally of what we had found among the various collectibles are we progressed in the game. Overall the Collector’s Edition is a great value because of the Strategy Guide that I needed to peek at more than once.

Timeless Voyage is a great game and an excellent addition to the other games in the series. I purchased the game as soon as it was released and was not disappointed. As always, I recommend that you try the demo of the game to see if it is one that you will enjoy. Happy gaming! Show less

this tells another tale in the series that is as good as the others only you don't see the ghost as often. you are jumping back and forth between present, past and future and you play as one of three characters that is chosen by the game. i played on the custom level. good hint system. of course it is set up at the end for another tale.

I recommend this game!

Elephant Games’ hidden object crossover series continues with its third installment in Detectives United III: Timeless Voyage. Join James Blackthorne, Anna Gray, and Agent Brown once again as they face Dark Anna Gray from the previous adventure who is back with a vengeance and sends the detectives scattered across different time periods. With the unit separated, each detective needs to hunt down a specific artifact to defeat Dark Anna once again! Are you up for the challenge???

Although this is already the third installment in the Detectives United series, the novelty of the original game is still very much intact thanks to the three time periods concept...with Mystery Trackers’ Agent Brown in the past, Grim Tales’ Anna Gray in the present, and Haunted Hotel’s James Blackthorne in the future – the game is able to exploit the storyline in a creative and interesting manner. There is no question that this multiple timelines scenario can be quite difficult to keep track, but the constant change in environment and perspective successfully keeps the game fresh and engaging from start to finish!!!

Detectives United III: Timeless Voyage looks and sounds fantastic just as I expected it would. The sharp graphics and epic cutscenes make it clear that this is a high-budget production and the varied visual settings across three timelines offer a nice change of pace every time which is also true for this latest edition. On the audio side, the voice-overs, the soundtracks, and the sound effects are all effective in creating a gloomy atmosphere and contributing to driving a suspenseful narrative.

Detectives United III: Timeless Voyage has a standard length of just under four hours and the bonus chapter (included in the CE version) extends the game for another 45 minutes. That's always an added plus for me, because I feel like I'm getting more "gameplay" for money well spent IMHO.

So, Kudo's to Elephant's design team for another well-executed time-travel storyline with strong production values; making Detectives United III: Timeless Voyage a perfectly enjoyable adventure. Cheers! Show less

The past is in the past...unless it's in the future or the present because dark forces are at play here when Anti-Mystery Tracker Agent Anna Gray arranges a little vacation for her doppelganger opposites. The real Anna Gray from Grim Tales, James Blackthorne from Haunted Hotel, and Agent Dorian Brown from Mystery Trackers, unwittingly board the SS TITAN (IC) destination PAST-PRESENT-FUTURE, they don't even get the pleasure of each other's company!

Unfortunately, the game itself is super easy and everything is predictable, you'll know what object is needed to complete every task, where to look, what to do and when and where to use things. You'll know where the HO scenes will be located the second you walk in a room, you'll know to open up scenes where there are cabinets and drawers and know they will all need emblems. At one point, I thought this developer had abandoned the "million emblems" required to unlock absolutely every door, drawer and cabinet in a 200 room mansion but they just keep slipping back into that dark anti-parallel "been there, done that, scenario?????

Helper/Gadget:
There are 4 Gadgets in this game, one of which is dear ole dad, Richard, the other 3 are Connectors from the Mystery Trackers Agency which is basically a giant flip-phone used by all three agents. All of the gadgets were unobtrusive and didn't really require solving a mini-game (with the exception of 1 puzzle that followed its use.

Morphing Objects/Collectibles: (CE version only)
There are 14 Morphing Case Cards with descriptions and 30 Non-Linear Morphing Objects. Although the morphs are very easy to spot, I am thrilled that they have included morphs that don't necessarily morph when you first visit the scene. (usually morphs when you switch characters) Most of the Zoom Zones have a Puzzle Fragment that automatically completes 4 Screensavers.

Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 15 Hidden Object Scenes +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter and 7 Zoom Zone HOP's where you search for items that match silhouetted shapes, shown one at a time. I rarely impressed with any of the HO Scenes by Elephant because the items practically jump out at you. Do me a favor and try to find the items w/o looking at the list and I'll betcha you can find most objects! There are Interactive List Finds, Multiples of Items Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, and Symbol Finds. Some of the location settings were interesting but there were really only 2 that were unique, one that required flipping over stones to create murals of the listed objects, and my personal favorite, finding and placing parts on a totem pole. There are no alternate games available.

Mini-Games:
There are 20 Mini-Games +2 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Most of the games are standard Elephant games that you've probably played several times. Here are a few of the ones I enjoyed the most:

1-A three-part Puzzle Variation game the first puzzle requires folding a map horizontally & vertically, the second puzzle requires dragging horizontal & vertical puzzle strips, the third is the famous Elephant torn photo where you have to drag fragments into place...easy but fun.
2-Place all bars on the grid, each bar has filled & empty circles of varying patterns and the goal is to cover the entire grid with circles.
3-Fire a cannonball at four different targets by clicking to stop the red horizontal & vertical lines when they are centered in the target. Each target becomes slightly more challenging because the speed increases each time.
4-Sneak past the guards by choosing paths 1-3 at the correct times per scene.
5-Connect gears to their matching colored mates without intersecting connections.

Bonus Chapter (Collector's Edition version only)
Continue your parallel voyage to battle Morpheus before he conquers the universe and enslaves humanity through hypnosis! There are 8 Scene Locations in this average-length chapter which has only 2 Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes. You will search for the remaining 4 Morphing Case Cards, 8 Morphing Objects, and 5 Zoom Zone Puzzle Fragments which allows you to complete the fourth and final screensaver.

Nice game. Nice graphics. Do-able puzzles (only skipped 2), but it was relatively short. I was done pretty fast and I am NOT a fast player.

I did the demo for detective united origins and detectives united II and didn't like either so didn't purchase however when i did the detective united III timeless voyage demo i did like the demo and purchased the game.

I really enjoyed the other Detectives United games, but this ons just seems to be produced in a haste. Like others reviewing this game, I found the story to be very flawed, like a random pick of possible storylines forced together.

The gameplay was very easy: find something, use it, open another door. The ending was over before I could blink my eyes twice.
Sorry to have bought the CE on this.

I don't recommend this game.

The premise of this game was terrific, take 3 people from other Elephant games and have them work together, but the carry through just wasn't really there, we all do different things in different locals, and we never actually come together to solve anything, Anna was the one who put it all together and it felt like she took up most of the gameplay. The things that really made me take points off were the extremely short game and the unimaginative mini-games.
I did like the game I just didn't love. The different locals were nice, having others in the game with you was great if only we interacted more often the game would have been a lot better.
I used a free game code so I'm not that upset but I would have been, had I paid full price.
Elephant Games have in the past put out long, thought-provoking games like the Surface series, the original Haunted Hotels, The original Grim Tales, this game was nowhere in the same league with those games but most of the games nowadays don't compare to the games they put out the first 3 or 4 years ago. The length, the creativity, the originality is just gone and it's really sad.
I do recommend the game for a few hours of fun with gorgeous graphics but I say buy it on sale or use a free game code, it's not worth full price!. Show less
