Loads of fun. Lots of levels

Most features in this game you have come across before, but there are so many of them it never gets boring. There are enemies to get rid of,(who just change position not disappear).. collection of resources, upgrading, repairing, altars, magic and lots of running around.

Most features in this game you have come across before, but there are so many of them it never gets boring. There are enemies to get rid of,(who just change position not disappear).. collection of resources, upgrading, repairing, altars, magic and lots of running around.

Its the graphics in this one are just spectacular! Recources float down from the clouds and things float off in other directions. And as well as that they are deep and rich making it beautiful to play. So while the mechanics are similar to others you absolutely don't feel you are playing a repeat game

One new feature though is whilst button pressing is not new..collecting sheep to stand on them is! And how many you have is in a window onscreen. Our squirrel friend is back collecting the food only he can, and there are gems and magic spells to cast using them. Once you activate Brunhilda's cottage. All our old friends are back also doing the tasks each one can only do. Their are piers and boats and sea debris to remove to access islands to get to which is fun.

One thing I really like about this game is that whilst your production building turn over resources on a timer, if you don't pick them up they still continue to add to the count in front of them. So if you say haven't picked up stone for a while, the number in the icon will be quite high..and that's how many you collect, unlike other games where if you don't pick up, you miss the next production cycle.

There are collectable owls who are tiny but not too hard, and you can go back and get them if you miss them. But you wont know you did until you get a gap in your collection as they are not marked on the map and only show up every few levels. There is the tavern with its mahjong (yawn)..but I guess some like it. Personal taste. There are the regular wallpapers and music etc and three modes of play including relax. (but you cant toggle between them, only play side by side if you like to work things out first) The strategy guide is both numbered and verbal and can be accessed from the 'star' on the main menu screen.

All in all 54 normal levels and 16 bonus, plus achievements and collectables make this CE worthy in my opinion, but try the demo always. Enjoy! Show less

The Happy Return of the Viking Brothers - and Sisters!

Oh Happy Day! Other reviewers will go into all the details (which I greatly appreciate and enjoy). I have several of the Viking Brothers TM games and the one with the Viking Sisters and love them all. But, to let them join up is an extra treat. The graphics, story line and dialogue are always great. One of the most fun things is finding the new added features along with the familiar ones which are still very entertaining. When I started playing TM games rather than mostly HOG's, my first TM game was Viking Brothers 4. I've been hooked ever since on this type of TM game. I don't care for some other types of TM games, but the ones that are similar to the Viking Brothers/Sisters are a huge staple in my gaming library now. This game was the perfect way to begin my weekend. BTW, I play in relaxed mode.

I agree with Joybelle - one of my favorite things is that the resources from the production buildings will accumulate over time and a game character can carry 5 at a time. So if you let 8 items accumulate, a character will pick up 5 of them and you will still have 3 remaining. I often let resources accumulate to 10 for two pick-up trips. Once in a while in some games it drives me a bit crazy to have to pick up items one at a time. I think the Viking Brothers games are unique with that one feature in particular. The sound that the squirrel makes is one of my all time favorite sounds ever. I would love to know how the devs came up with it. Makes me happy every time I hear it. It's a very unique sound. This tine the brothers and sisters are united
Everand and Boromere and Helga and Brunnhilde come together and without giving too much away I think this is the best of the series and packed full of challenge.They all have their own powers and this time live in their own houses and need to be activated to save their kingdom .
I have played all the levels and the challenge starts straight away and doesn't let up really. I as usual played first in relax and now I am playing again on a higher level. To get the most out of the demo I would advise playing in relaxed to start, then if you purchase choose your own level. This is very challenging even in relaxed and is in no way boring.
There are 54 levels in the main game and 16 in the bonus games for the CE.
The reason for the odd amount is they have included sprinkled throughout the game levels where you have to catch ingredients that fall from chutes and you need to catch them in a vase. This I was not a fan of but there is no way you can skip it and to me was really not needed. Having said that although it does lower the tone of the game slightly. it is packed full of challenges and I was torn between 4 or 5 stars but once I had played the bonus levels was in no doubt that this is indeed a 5 star game and worthy of paying the extra for the CE.There are the usual minigames of Mahjong which I tend to ignore but thats just me.

The bonus levels are some of the best I have come across in my opinion as quite often bonus levels fail to deliver but I enjoyed them. Of course if you wish to wait for the Se then feel free I just think you will not be disappointed if you do buy the CE for the extra levels alone. There is an excellent strategy guide as I can imagine this would come in handy if you were trying to get 3 stars on the hardest level.
The rest of the extras are not worth it basically, and if it were not for the wonderful bonus levels I would not have bought and waited for the Se. I just took a risk that these were going to be good going by this dev's past record.
I would say for the next game in this series to drop the ingredient catching levels, In my opinion they are so not needed.
To sum up ,each level is different with the exception of the catch levels.If you are a TM fan then you will love this, even if not, give it a try with the demo as it does give a fair idea what the rest of the game is like Show less

this is the best yet, and I've played hundreds of games from big fish in the last 15yrs! I am disabled, restricted to a wheel chair and a senior citizen, spend most of my days on my pc...this game is the BEST one I've ever played, would recommend to everyone!

I love the Viking family! Their games are always fun! I've played thru the 3rd level and all seems to be smooth, gold on all. I'm buying it.

Somewhat different form the original series. Some new great musical repertoires. Graphics are as good as ever. Good challenges even in untimed mode. You can play in untimed mode and get all the awards.

I skipped out on the timed mode as I am heavily involved in another strategic game and there are 2 more favorite time management games that just came out. But it's fun to play. Show less

I had been getting a little bored with the series, but this outing has enough new stuff and cute stuff that I quickly got hooked again. My only complaint is that the game doesn't keep track of your best time. Still, a fun and challenging.game.

As a happy owner of all the Viking-related games of this developer to date, this game aims to please. And for the most part, it does for me. Levels are fantasy-driven, starting off with cloud-islands in the sky, yet with the ol' familiar sawmill and farm to give you a little grounding. The tasks are build, collect and vanquish but with little novel approaches which make this series so appealing. Graphics are super: crisp, clear and often wonderfully imaginative. Only hit seems to be Boromir, the blond one, now looking a little demented in 3D. Oh well.

Settings include music and sound adjustment, use of the System pointer (which I prefer) and ability to turn off Hints. CE includes an Owl Collection, Music repository, Wallpapers and Strategy Guide.

I miss the more granular and unique vibe the earliest Bros. had. But I don't fault anything. This series continues to impress with imagination and good cheer. Please try it. Show less
