Pixal Art are my favorite games,I have all of them.
At first I found the cursor too big and chunky,
so if any one else is finding this, click onto options, then click
onto custom cursor and then you will get a tiny little arrow
which is just the perfect size for the game.
I recommend this game!

This is my first review since joining Big Fish in 2009. I am mainly into Hidden Object games and I had not tried any of the previous Pixal Art games. This is my first review since joining Big Fish in 2009. I am mainly into Hidden Object games and I had not tried any of the previous Pixal Art games. I decided to give this one a try and I did find it somewhat addicting, although a little tedious at times. My only complaint is that sometimes I have to click 2 or 3 times when trying to switch colors, and sometimes it moves to the previous or next group of color choices, so I think there is a little glitch with the cursor.
I realize this is a Pixel game, but I think it would be great if each picture would morph into real looking pictures or paintings after you complete them, and be able to save as wallpapers. Show less

fromI love that Mac gamers are getting these games before PC gamers but the Mac version is in a windowed box on the bottom left for the last 3 games :(

I've been happy that Pixel Art and Paint by Numbers has been offered on Mac before PC but for the last several game versions I have complained that the screen is in a small windowed box at the bottom left. The screen itself is still full-sized but the image picture is a square at the bottom left which is really annoying so until someone cares enough to fix it, I can't give 5-stars!

I still don't understand why our beautiful artwork is always a single image placed on a drab grey background? Why can't we fill in the entire background with pixels or at the very least choose the color of the background? It just doesn't make any sense to me, these are supposed to be works of art, aren't they?
I also don't understand why some of the images are still so boring, and why I have to follow the levels, why do I have to go in a specific order? I love the larger, more detailed images because you get a sense of accomplishment compared to the smaller images that can be completed with just 10 or so colors. When a picture has 20-30 different colors it's really fun to watch the scene unfold, little by little, pixel by pixel, besides, it gives you more "in the zone" time to just block out the business of the world and find some zen time :)
I'd still like to see a few options added such as a Cursor option of different widths, a full-color palette for the Background Colors, (although I suspect that's in the pipeline because it has been added to Paint by Numbers) a full-color palette to choose the color of "shaded" current numbered pixels, and an option to save the completed images as a screensaver or wallpaper, makes sense, right?
There's not a whole lot to have to figure out, it's about as uncomplicated and basic as it gets so as long as someone can recognize numbers, they should be able to play! Pixel Art is a computer version of Paint by Numbers. Each pixel has a number and you chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side, and you simply left click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color, you can hold the mouse button and swipe through large groupings as well.
There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a "fit" tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is an auto-fill feature that will fill in large groups of pixels in a particular color by double-clicking, but that feature has to recharge after each use, besides, it's more satisfying to color them yourself. The last feature is a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, it really only allows you to change the colors in shades of grey to black. To me, it would make more sense to have an entire color scale available on a paint by numbers game though, wouldn't it?
Come join me on the Zen Pixel Art Train, I'll save ya a seat!

I have every pixel art game and I feel that, unfortunately, this edition is one of the most unimaginative and mundane. Same old same old. Come on people! You have a great product here and from what I can see you have a corner on the Big Fish market for this type of game. Get creative! With all the pictures in the world out there this is all you can come up with.

You should, by now, be morphing art into art works. Stop with the difficulty of moving from level to level. I should be able to bounce around and choose. Something changes in the selection of pictures after edition 5, 6 and 7. We have now been relegated to 1. Portraits 2. Landscapes (all the same) 3. Still Life 4. Childrens' books Pictures.
So many of us love this relaxing, wonderful game. Please get back the creativity and value Show less

The large pictures are my faves because of the extra depth and detail created with a wider variety of tones and shading.
Pixel Art 10 contains some really lovely pictures, but I really dislike the too-many simple and boring images that I would rather skip, which is what I do. We need more of the sophisticated and detailed art pieces that require a more extensive color palette and more time, to bring the image to life. For me, that special feeling of accomplishment matters.
I very much agree with another reviewer's great suggestion of the images morphing into realistic looking paintings. It is done in several jigsaw games I own and it's really a nice feature. Also, I wouldn't mind having a choice of cursor size and filling in the entire background on the more elaborate paintings.
I never experience any glitches in the Pixel Art games, the features are very useful. The zooming is one that I cannot do without. The background color isn't really an issue with me on the insignificant pics, but some color and maybe texture would enhance the beauty of the more elaborate ones.
These paint/color games are just a lot of fun for me. Even though I do a lot with books and pencils that are more gratifying, I appreciate the ease and enjoyment of the computer art. There are many available, but seems the Mac users get them first and PC users have to wait and wait and wait. When one finally arrives I break into a happy dance. Silly, right?!
Please, Big Fish, bring us more on a more regular basis. I own them all and won't hesitate to keep buying them. They, along with my HOPAs provide endless hours of feel-good time. Show less
