When I first saw the level count on this game I thought 'oh a bit short'..but only a few levels in, the hours have passed so very quickly!

There are all the familiar features and tasks as in previous games, , clear and build roads, gather food/wood, build resource buildings, repair bridges find treasure cache's, explore caves, make bombs and basically meet the level goals. I am not too far in ...Show more

When I first saw the level count on this game I thought 'oh a bit short'..but only a few levels in, the hours have passed so very quickly!

There are all the familiar features and tasks as in previous games, , clear and build roads, gather food/wood, build resource buildings, repair bridges find treasure cache's, explore caves, make bombs and basically meet the level goals. I am not too far in but there are a couple of new features so far including an alter of elements which needs earth, air, fire and water elements to be gathered (in the shape of jewels) from all parts of the screen before you can light it, and a pathfinders house to build so you can explore caves.

This game may seem short with only 40 + 6 levels, but I have been playing for two hours and only ten in. I chose easy of the four choices (relax, easy, normal, hard)..and could not do any harder challenge! By the time I use all the strategy I can muster and find the cache's (I don't want to look....I enjoy that challenge too) I am playing most levels twice, finding I can either have gold or find all cache's..so I go for the gold play...and go back again to look for the cache's as the gold stands. There is now as said, in order to avoid not having a 'perfect' looking score map...a guide to where they are on all levels this time. A great inclusion! Thanks developers! There is no strategy guide..but it would be near impossible I think for this game? Maybe the next inclusion?

I have a long way to go in this game and am loving every minute. I am sure there will be more surprises..but even if not each level is differently laid out and the graphics are great. (the workers are getting to look a bit cutsie..but that's cosmetics lol)

Its a familiar game..its a new game..its a whole lot of fun and we can all find the cache's now and play how we choose from the options. Its hard not to smile playing this game. Enjoy! Show less

It's much like the recent past Roads of Rome in its various names. I always play in Relaxed mode since I don't need any stress and pressure, also gives me time to hover around looking for those hidden caches.

I recommend this game!

I had no problems installing or playing the game. At the start of each level you know how many caches you can find and they are easy to locate. There are new buildings. I just love the game and I really recommend it to the players who have played the previous games.

I recommend this game!

I LOVE this series. This game was extremely challenging, which makes it much more fun and takes longer to complete the game. The storyline would've been ok, but at the end before you get your score, it flips off the story too fast for you to read. You get the gist, but I like reading all of the comments. Also - I hope that this will get better in the future - the people moved too slow, even with the speed setting. Most annoying - the BOMBS wouldn't get placed in the sequential order like all of the other "commands" you give the characters. You have to wait and not click on anything to get them to the bomb. That messes up the timing somewhat. Having said all of this - I definitely recommend the game. I hope that in the next game the above items can be improved! Show less

The devs do a good job with giving options on the difficulty, they have "relaxed", "easy", "normal" and "hard". Usually I play on normal, but I've switched down to easy. Which is ok as it means I'll be able to give myself a goal of doing well in normal when I replay. And with this series I always want to play again later. That's what is so good about it.

There are the usual road clearing tasks (get wood, stone, food, etc) but also some nice variety. Like the way they did the roads in the second episode which is a swamp. I havent gotten beyond that episode so I'm not sure what the others will look like but am hoping they have been as inventive. And every level has an altar for which you have to find gems. They have also added a character that clears hidden areas that might have gems or something else. It all adds to the fun.

Finding the catches is a bit of extra fun. You can ignore them if you dont like finding hidden things, but I enjoy it. When I've got several tasks queued up for the characters, I dont have to sit and wait, I can look for a catch. Keeps it interesting! And with the CE version there are maps of where the catches are for each level. So if not finding one of the hidden catches is driving you crazy, you can look. :)

The music is nice, sound effects are mostly ok (the hissing dragons is a bit overdone).
Visually the quality is excellent as usual. Bright, detailed and everything looks real. Even the background areas look good.

Overall a very enjoyable game. Give it a try! Show less

This game is great. I love it. Graphics are wonderful. Finally a game that shows a lot of time and effort. Don’t pass this one up

had to review this right away due to the former review. i don't have any problem playing it. maybe the file got corrupt while downloading? try again ok? anyway, love all the Rome series, and i even mean the Britons! have them all, so bought this right away. it really is a great game so far and i love it! all of these in the series are re-playable and i play them all a LOT! thanks a bunch BFG!

Short and sweet - I play Roads of Rome games because they are the best ones. This newest one is no exception, it is super fun, challenging and is fairly long (yay) and that's what we're all looking for, aren't we? This is one of the best time management games I've bought, a real winner in my opinion. Huge fun! You can play with out a timer or with, it's all great fun. Thumbs up! :)
