I know a lot of people complained about the last few games being basically the same, but I disagree, I think this developer is very good about adding new features and changing the level layouts without compromising the familiarity of the game mechanics that their fans love. I used to love Imperial Island but they completely changed the game mechanics and lost me as a player and a buyer because of it! This developer chose to create several different Match 3 series to solve the issue of a change of venue, one of which is a very challenging Match 3 game for hard-core players where Laruaville is more of a relaxing, yet still strategy-based, kind of Match 3 game, but there's always something new and unique added!

You can play in a Relaxed Mode, a Limited Moves or Limited Time Mode and there are 30 Bonus Match 3 Levels to Unlock. After each Match 3 level, you can play a Hidden Object Scene, a Higher/Lower Solitaire game or Mahjong game as well as my personal favorites, Spot the Difference with differences that aren't as obvious as you'd expect. You can skip the mini-games (and there is a Hint feature with no penalties) The tutorial is pretty vague as it simply points to your goal or shows a power-up that is required, not how to go about getting to that point, but you can click on the Book at the top of the screen to read everything you need to know, including tips & tricks.

Laruaville is a Match 3 game that's "All About The Coins", the level goals are clear and simple, collect all of the coins, but of course, collecting the coins is anything but simple! There are plenty of obstacles to make the goal more difficult, but overcoming those obstacles only matters if they are preventing you from getting to the coins.

There are several types of Coins available:

•Gold Coins: requires an adjacent match to collect.
•Gem Coins: requires 1 match to remove gems, a second to collect.
•Frozen Coins: requires activating torches.
•Half Coins: requires joining 2 halves by making matches between.
•Locked Coins: requires unlocking Coin Key.
•Coin Molds: requires guiding liquid gold to the mold to form a coin.
•D#@%ed (censored) Coins: do NOT collect you will lose the level! (power-ups cannot tell the difference between regular coins & Da#%'d Coins)

There are several Obstacles preventing you from getting to the Coins, however, if they aren't blocking a coin there's no need to overcome those obstacles. Power-ups will destroy most obstacles as well:

•Crates: requires an adjacent match to remove.
•Shielded Crates: requires an adjacent match on the unshielded portion. (rockets work too)
•Petals: requires an adjacent match to remove.
•Clay: requires power-up or explosion to destroy.
•Stone: requires power-up or explosion to destroy.
•Fog: requires an adjacent match to remove.
•Ice: requires a match 3 of whichever tile is trapped in the ice.
•Chains: requires a match 3 of whichever tile is chained.
•Keys: requires moving towards a locked coin by matching in between.
•Portals: requires moving the key to the key portals (portals also move drops and fire)
•Vials: requires filling with purple drops by matching vertically.
•Wooden Walls: requires an adjacent match to remove.
•Stone Walls: requires several adjacent matches to remove.
•Gem Stone Walls: cannot be destroyed.
•Torches: spread fire to melt snow, ice, etc. by making adjacent matches.

Large Matches will earn Power-ups on the board, however, there are times when a Power-up can hurt rather than help (read the Tips & Tricks Book) Most power-ups can be moved or double-clicked to activate.

•Small Rocket: vertical OR horizontal line busters (right-click to direct)
•Large Rocket: selects a target in order of importance.
•Bombs: explodes with an adjacent match (usually w/ a chain reaction)
•Cannons: requires an adjacent match on the Red Cell to activate.

Thanks Igore for another fantastic Match 3 game, it's a definite purchase, I have every Match 3 game in every Match 3 series you have made which shows they are different enough to keep on buying them! :)

There is a new feature in this one where the the key you move to open a locked coin actually has to get to a whole different segment of the screen..this is done by moving it over a marked tile and it floats like magic to the 'other' board. Nice!

The tiles all have medieval design, flags, drums,crowns etc and of course doves have managed to come along too. I feel in this game the devs have paid attention to how and where the tiles actually fall so matches are not way away from where you are playing the action thus making it too hard as sometimes you must make a five match to proceed.

There are bonus levels that you get as you proceed..and yuk..some have black dammed tiles that if you touch them your play is over. They are a bit more of a brain stretch. But you can play in one of the three modes including relaxed. There is a book tutorial to read anytime.

Its a same game..(the minigames are the same of course lol)..its a wonderful game..it has some new features and it has bonus levels..grumpy ghosts that give you a laugh and all in all a good value game. I am a lover of this series but I think even if you have just come to the gaming community you will become one too when you play this. Enjoy! Show less

This series never disappoints me. This game is a bit more challenging on some levels but not to the point you give up. I think the card games seem to be easier than before but that is just me. The hidden object seems to be harder. Have a good time with the ghost buddies and enjoy. Great game.

So to game 10 in this series, has it lost its mojo ? Of course not.
Yes we have the same style that goes with these games but there is always a new feature added to keep us Matchaphiles happy.
I just love the new teleport where you need to send a key or drop elsewhere on the board to complete the level but to start it is quite easy but now I am further in to the game it then becomes very challenging.

Further on there are several items you can send through the teleport but send the wrong item and you are on the road to nowhere and need to restart the level.
These games are more relaxed I find than other series from this dev but I like that, having said that you still need to put your thinking cap on at times.
You can skip all the mini games straight away and turn off those annoying hints that pop up all the time however I did need to turn it on once or twice.
This series has all the bells and whistles. It has bonus games, mini games and it's NOT a CE. (Jumping up and down with joy) No not joybelle but she is probably jumping up and down as well lol.

Some will say same old, but its not, unexpected things happen.Other games you can read like a book and they are so boring.
These games can get to game 10 and still keep us very happy.

LOVE IT this is the best one yet.
The woman ghost has a new hairdo LOL
and yes once again there is building going on.
New style puzzles, new ways to play the boards, still hard to get the bonuses, but overall a great game. Good storyline, a little snarky but fun. Try it.

I love this series and other games by this dev but lately they have opted to make big black spaces at the top and bottom therefore squeezing the game. I purchased a big monitor so that I could enjoy the games without having to peer at my small laptop monitor but playing these games now is no different than my laptop.

I recommend this game!

This developer has the magic touch that most devs do not. They are on #10 in a series and they are still fantastic games. I like the new features in this one that have been amply described by other reviewers. I agree with the emphasis that concentrating on the coins is the road to success. Also, do not forget that there is a terrific help aide in the book in the upper left hand corner. These games have some unique features so that book comes in handy and is a "must read" especially for new players. I also very much like all of the little mini-games that pop up throughout the M3 games - mahjong, spot the difference, HO (which are truly one of a kind IMHO). I wish all devs could have a series of this length and still maintain the quality and up their game with each new installment. I was so very happy when I saw this as the new game on Monday, even though I did not receive my "Monday Bonus Punch" when I purchased it. Not happy about that, but thrilled with the game. Show less

a great m3 game. i love all the games in this series. i played on the casual level, no timer. i like that these games have a story. the story this one is about is a feud between merlin the wizard and king arthur. merlin had captured the sun and put it in his castle and the rest of the land can't take advantage of it. so king arthur builds around the castle.

I recommend this game!
