Pictures are beautiful with texture and choice of background color. Smooth operation click and movement of board. Any complaints from other reviewers are not deal breakers. But i do agree it would be nice to see finished picture before ending level adding a click for next level button but i get around it by not filling in the most tiny piece that is not easy to find and advance to next color. All colors will continue to move forward and after the last number it reverts back to number skipped. I take my time enjoying the finished art before completing the tiny hard to see piece.
As far as wallpapers, maybe a collector's edition with added color your own option?? But as is, i think it is well worth my bucks. Show less

This developer really aims to please and always comes through, bringing us changes and features that make the games more enjoyable. He acknowledges our requests and suggestions. This developer really aims to please and always comes through, bringing us changes and features that make the games more enjoyable. He acknowledges our requests and suggestions. There is a vast difference in quality between this color by number and the one we got a few days ago. Amazing, what can be created when effort and caring are at the forefront.

I enjoyed the demo, but wasn't able to make it through the entire first level. I really wanted to see what lies ahead, so decided to buy the game feeling I won't be disappointed. Eager to see the other pictures and I'm also still working on Modern Art 1. Don't like to finish everything all in one swoop with nothing left for future fun. The variety of subject matter is good and the images are fun to paint because I know something lovely will emerge when I'm done.

The pictures really come to life with the beautiful range of colors and use of shading that add depth and detail. The texturing, too, brings that special touch which makes the images look more like a work of art. There are 64 images (wish there were more), hopefully more will be added along the way. I'm always wishing for more nature, birds, people and intricate artwork. Maybe that will come later, too.

Except for these on-going issues, I am satisfied and having fun with the Modern Art games...(1) Having to complete the first level before gaining access to the other levels is just so aggravating! I want to see it all and paint whichever images I choose. This ridiculous feature needs to go. No one likes it! (2) I'd love to see the picture in full size after completion. It's disappointing when all I get for my efforts is a little "blip" of what I created, plus it can't even be recalled for viewing at another time. (3) Many of the images in Modern Art 1 were really beautiful as I'm sure is the case in Modern Art 2. I would like to save some of them, just in a collection or maybe as wallpapers.

Other than these few matters, I think this is very fine paint by number game. I know it will provide many hours of relaxing entertainment and I appreciate not having to drag out all my supplies and clean up afterwards. On the days I feel that artistic bug biting me, it's the perfect go-to when my energy level is low. Show less

GOOD FEATURES: You can change your background color to any color you what. This also changes the color of the shapes that need clicking. You will have to change your background many times on some pic, depending on the color you're working with. Next good feature is as you click the colored shapes it turns into a canvas instead of paper like other games. It also has a number above your cursor to show if you are centered on that shape. If you get frustrated, enlarge the picture. I like to play a game with myself while clicking shapes to try and do the painting without enlarging it. I’ve failed only once. I’m going back to see if I can get it right this time.

TOO SEE HINTS: SEE MY 5 STAR REVIEW ON MODERN ART.

DEVELOPERS—Please Please Please get rid of the black and brown pictures. They are dark, gloomy & boring. Ever seen a blue, red, purple, pink or green house? Car? I have. They are pretty. How about a purple dog or pink cat? I have. How about clothes other than black? Do you ever look out your window? I’d like to see the number above cursor to change colors too like the background. Also, it would be great if it moved to the right, left & down when you click shapes on the edges. Some of the shapes are sooo tiny you can barely see them and the number moves off screen. I love the tiny shapes, the more the better. It is more challenging that way. I really, really, really HATE it when you click on a shape and ½ of the page gets colored in. (IMO-it shows either laziness, dead line coming, boss wants you to move faster or you don’t really care & just want to get the game out there). I do agree with other reviewers about skipping a pic if you find the one you're on either ugly or boring. It should be an option. Don't want a background color should also be an option. Lastly, I’ve bought all your paint-by-number games & Modern Art Series is the best BY FAR. But it really needs some improvements to make it the Prefect game. Show less

you pick a color and run it over the picture and it will color in all the corresponding places with that number. of course you can enlarge the picture and there is a hint. there pictures are not as vibrant as the other games. it is more like paintings. good game to stay busy with.

I love the games by this developer but I have been complaining about a particular Mac glitch that is happening on every single game in every series by just this particular developer. I don't have issues with any other games, and I didn't have issues with any of the games by this developer until about six months ago so whatever they changed, updated, or switched to, they need to switch it back! ...Show more

I love the games by this developer but I have been complaining about a particular Mac glitch that is happening on every single game in every series by just this particular developer. I don't have issues with any other games, and I didn't have issues with any of the games by this developer until about six months ago so whatever they changed, updated, or switched to, they need to switch it back! (that's a polite please and thank you :) As I said, they worked before, and it's only the games by this developer that have been affected. My screen shows up full size, but the pictures themselves show up as a small window in the bottom left corner. If I switch to windowed mode, all that does is make the same scenario smaller, the picture is still in the bottom left corner of the windowed mode! If no one wants to fix it, I guess I'll just have to keep giving the game low ratings because it's not fun to play the game in this current status and I haven't been able to purchase any of the games (nor do I want to) until this glitch gets resolved.

I know this developer is listening because I have asked for a full-color scale option for the background colors and that option was recently fulfilled on the newer Paint By Numbers series. I also asked for Cursor options such as a pencil, marker, ballpoint and/or nib pen, quills, etc. instead of the huge and bulky cursor that was currently offered, and although he didn't give us multiple cursor options, he did go back to the drawing board and slim the cursor down significantly!

In some of the earlier versions, I complained that there weren't enough color variations to give the picture depth, in other words, he didn't use different shades of the same color side by side as a visual shading effect...so he created a new game genre, Polygon Art.

I recommended that he use different textures of art materials such as oil or acrylic paints to make our completed images appear more like the real thing, like works of art, a Picasso...so he created a new genre, Modern Art!

There are still two options I think are necessary. When a picture has been completed you don't get to view the completed image in full size, nor do you get to revisit the completed image in full size. There should also be an option to download the completed images as Wallpapers...especially some of these beautifully painted images! So they are listening to suggestions about new game designs...how about suggestions on playability?

There are 64 images available but you are still forced to finish the first level before moving on to the next. I still don't understand this concept, why do I have to finish one level before proceeding? I'm sure everyone would like the ability to pick and choose from any level!

Each area has a number and you simply chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side. There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a "fit" tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is also a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, which now includes a full-color scale. ☯
