This second game is great and in my opinion much better. The play is smoother you do not have to keep going out to the map and then clicking then back in to play then out to the map etc etc. You can just go from board to board. A big improvement over the first game Also in the second game you can skip the tutorial which you could not in the first game.
The games are similar in building "stuff" for the fairy. The graphics in the first one were a little nicer but did not offset the smoother play in the second game.
This is a buy for me! Show less

I don't restart the game as I like to keep all the power-ups, just go back and play all the games that aren't 3 stars and then others just go through them all again. There are some lovely challenges to remove before being able to play the cards. Many hours of pleasure sure gets a top rating from me!!

Fun game.
Different story but the same solitaire game as the Original Dreamland Solitaire.
Graphics are good.
200 levels that can be replayed.
This one has no ending. The soldier is left with no where to go.
Need to buy the CE for the ending.
I recommend this game!

I loved the original Dreamland Solitaire because the graphics were beautiful, the fairy was beautiful and I loved building the fairy's house in the middle of an enchanted forest, it was that particular feature that made the game so special. In Dragon's Fury, the graphics suddenly became cartoonish and I was slightly disappointed, but when it came to restoring the village and rebuilding the fairy kingdom in Dark Prophecy, the graphics really took a step backward with the most unappealing cartoonish style graphics yet. I played the entire demo on the casual mode setting and didn't have to replay any on the levels because I was able to remove all of the cards on the first attempt, nevertheless, I purchased this game on a Bonus Punch Monday and the game was entertaining, but it still wasn't as impressive as the original Dreamland Solitaire, and certainly not as beautiful...not by a longshot!
Everything else is the same as the original two Dreamland Solitaires, as far as gameplay, bonuses, and mechanics with the exception of being able to choose from 8 Deck Card styles this time. The Collector's Edition version has 10 Achievements, 7 Music Soundtracks, 7 Wallpapers, 4 Character Bios, and 80 Bonus Levels, honestly, this Standard Edition version is probably the better choice, especially if you wait for a sale or Bonus Punch Monday!
This is a Higher/Lower type of Solitaire Game that can be played in a Casual Mode with Standard rules, a Timed Mode where you are given a specified time limit for each turn or an Easy Mode which gives you 2 decks of cards. You get 1 Undo per level and there is Deck Card Counter and Combos will increase the index points.
The Object is to Remove all of the Cards to earn 3 Stars (levels can be replayed) Glowing Gold Cards contain Coins and Glowing Purple Cards contain Mana. Coins are used to purchase Bonus Boosters and Number Specific Wildcards & Jokers in the Shop. Mana is used to Clear the Dark fog and restore the Village, which as I said earlier, has very cartoonish graphics and isn't appealing, even after the upgrades.
As you progress, Obstacles are added to make the game more challenging. Plank Cards (single, double, triple planked cards) require playing the Axe Cards, Frozen Cards need to be removed Twice, Locked Cards require uncovering and using the Key, Shield Cards require removing Suit Specified Cards, and Mystical Fog Cards requires uncovering the Lantern Card to dispel the fog.
You can purchase Card Specific Wildcards or Jokers with the Coins you earn (you can earn them as well during the levels) and you can purchase a Chain Lightning Bonus (removes random face-up cards) a Fireball (hits selected card) a Magic Shuffle (shuffles cards) or a bonus that allows you to Change a Card to an adjacent one. Once purchased, these can be used on any level, and they recharge as you remove cards of their specified Suit. You can also purchase Extra Cards at the start of each level, Extra Undo's, Increase the Combo multiplier, generate bonuses faster, reduce the cost of wildcards, increase the number of tokens allowed, increase the number of wildcards permitted, or flip random cards over at the beginning of the level.
In my opinion, decorating and upgrading the beautiful forest scenery was the key ingredient or feature that gave the original game the "It Factor" I wish they would have continued that feature, perhaps a new home in a new forest, even better, a new fairy and a new adventure.

In this SE version they tell you there are 200 levels in the main game.
I am well in to the CE version now but still no where near completing the main game, in fact at level 120.
It becomes increasingly difficult to clear the pack and becomes a real challenge , choose your bonuses wisely.
It is a great game to do a few levels then come back at a later time to carry on.
Be aware although you have 3 levels Easy, casual and timed, you can not switch between levels in the same game you have to start at the beginning on each mode so it is like 3 separate games,
I would much rather have preferred if you could change modes in one game like you can do with other games.
Although I purchased the CE this game is just as good and I would have waited for this one had I not been so eager to carry on with it. I doubt I will ever get to the bonus levels not with all the other games that keep coming out.
Be prepared further on for many attempts to clear the pack , however you do have the option to continue without clearing the level. Enjoy Show less

This is a nice little game that follows the same game play as the previous Dreamland Solitaires with the little fairy, wizard, quests, etc and same obstacles of locked cards or "tied up" cards, etc. Same power-ups. So not doing a lot of descriptions because it's same-o, same-o.

When the CE version came out I was anticipating more than what I found. I completed the demo but wasn't much impressed because other than the cartoonish artwork, the game was the same as the others. Since the sweet little fairy and building her forest home, the appeal of Dreamland Solitaire seems to be gradually slip-sliding away.
The building is no longer fun (for me) because the beauty has become cartoonish drawings that have no appeal. I don't know why the devs thought this change was necessary. IMO, new features, bonuses, etc would have been much better. The graphics are very sharp and colorful and the card styles are nice. Another plus is that there are never any tech issues to slow things down. The game offers very little challenge even with the obstacle cards. I breezed through the demo in no time flat.
In all fairness, I cannot say this is a bad solitaire game. It just doesn't have that special element that keeps my attention, keeps boredom at bay and makes building a fun "project." You may absolutely love it, especially if you haven't yet played Dreamland Solitaire. As a basic up/down solitaire, it serves its purpose and will be a good one to help you relax from a grueling day. Beginners to the game, and children, will find it easy to learn. Show less

I was bothered by the fact after playing the game twice through, there was no ending either time.
I loved the game, however was disappointed that I bought a game which had been promoted without advertising that the game was not complete.
I played the 64 bit game on my Mac Catalina 10.15.7.
I don't recommend this game.

I had a strong feeling during the first hour of play that I had already played this game. So I went back and played the first Dreamland for an hour. It was identical. Exact same graphics, same dialogue same, same, same. I feel like they simply added the words Dark Prophecy to the title and released the same game twice. Certainly not worth buying.
I don't recommend this game.
