There is a huge difference between Art By Numbers and the "other" painting series... quality! The colors are so much more vibrant, the images are so much more interesting, the features are better, and most of all, the majority of the pictures include the entire background as you progress, not just a tiny image.

There is a huge difference between Art By Numbers and the "other" painting series... quality! The colors are so much more vibrant, the images are so much more interesting, the features are better, and most of all, the majority of the pictures include the entire background as you progress, not just a tiny image.

When they added a Freeplay section a couple of games back I couldn't have been more excited! This is by far one of the best features offered in a coloring game. This feature allows you to choose your own colors from a complete, full-scale color palette so you can be as creative as you want to be. My second favorite feature is that each color tells you how many cells you'll need to fill in and it keeps track of the ones you've filled in so you know exactly how many remain unfilled.

The cursor is an actual Paintbrush and they also have a Wide Brush option that allows you to fill in larger areas. In the last couple of games, my paintbrush cursor seems to be lagging a bit so I wish they would address this issue because I went back to play the original game and the paintbrush cursor still works perfectly fine which tells me they must have changed something?

You can choose from 4 different Background Textures that will compliment your completed works of art (72 total) You can also choose the color of shading for the numbered areas, and the type of painting style, either Flat or a textured Watercolored effect that looks more like a real paint by numbers painting effect.

The Current Number is much easier to see than in the "other" painting game and the black lines are much smaller so the pictures are much crisper. The difference between the two painting series games is like day versus night, this game is quality through and through and the "other" one seems outdated and old-school! These images have a transparent background, unlike the other painting game which has an ugly gray background. These works of art, however, will be displayed on the background you have chosen, and they will be embossed with a blue & gold frame when completed, sometimes it's the little touches that make or break a game!

The colors are beautiful with carefully chosen hues of yellows, purples, pinks, fuchsias, teals, oranges, etc. where as the "other" painting series has unappealing colors with a ton of brown and black variations, their colors just don't pop like the ones offered in Art By Numbers games! A butterfly might have 5 different variations or shades of pink on its wings which is something I have complained about several times on the "other" painting game. It's not very pretty when the same blue color is used on an entire butterfly and simply separated by really thick black lines in an attempt to make it look more dimensional. Every artist knows that you have to use shading variations to give a painting depth, and that is exactly what Awigor has done. This game was created by the same developer who brings us Rainbow Mosaics, one of my favorite Mosaics series, so they are masters of color, in my opinion! I wish I had waited for BF to get this one. I couldn't wait, so when it came up on another game site I bought it. As I've said before, I think Art by # is so much better that Modern Art and Paint by Number. There are more Art by Numbers out there, but I'll wait on the rest to show up on FB. The pictures come to life so vividly with so many yummy colors to work with. This art style is enhanced with shading and textures that add more dimension and interest to the subject matter. Each image turns into a little masterpiece that is bursting with beauty. I just wish they didn't disappear so suddenly after completion. I want to savor my creations and in a larger size.

I like the cursor, very accurate and the enlarged numbers over the cells make the target easier to see. The Hint is really great for getting those almost invisible specks of color that always frustrate us and the number of cells displayed above the color palette is very helpful. I love the many variations on the fantastic colors, making each image so bright and beautiful.

I'm all praises regarding this series and truly hope it is here to stay, bringing us quality painting fun and a growing variety of subject matter. Would also love to see more than 72 images. I have a feeling that this dev will make sure that we are not disappointed. There's much I haven't gone into with this lovely art game, but I know its fans will have lots to say and supply more detail. Can't beat it for quality fun and relaxation, also the replay value that the Free-Style option gives us. Show less

I have played many of these paint by number themes, pixel arts and by far this is the best. The graphics and colours are wonderful.

This one is easier to work with as you just hold the left mouse button and run across each number you are looking to paint without having to click each section. I find this game is easier to find the numbers you are working on painting as well, not as frustrating ...Show more

I have uninstalled many of the other games as they seemed so difficult to see the numbers without having to zoom out to be able to see the numbers better.

I played the demo to the end and purchased this game.

I definitely recommend this game!! Show less

A die hard Pixel Art player I could never get the attraction of hand holding in such an easy game format..I saw all the fantastic pictures in the ad for this game and thought...darn...if only it would be more challenging...well after playing around with settings- they don't tell you which settings do what so it's a lot of chose-play-chose-play until you get it the way you like it. I don't like my numbers highlighted or hovered over the picture & got rid of the custom paint brush...NOW I'm hooked-I've even gone back to the previous versions and every one except #1 can be manipulated to my liking...OH such joy...since the pictures are SO Much more attractive than the pixel art ones I will be a happy camper for a long time to come. I'm a newby at this game and others similar to it. Took me a while to warm to it until I discovered that right clicking the mouse zoomed the whole puzzle around. Before that I was wondering why only part of it zoomed and I found that frustrating. Would have been a no-buy for me. Now I'm loving this addictive game and it is very relaxing.
