Simple, yet sophisticated, like a good cup of coffee :) When I first started playing this game I thought it was too easy because the words literally popped right out at me. But then they didn't...because they progress from Easy, to Medium, to Hard, and eventually, Impossible!

It's a simple word game, but the object isn't to find random words, the object is to find specific words! You begin with a 3 x 3 grid of letters and you must drag to spell specific words that will fill in the empty word brackets below the grid. When you finish all the levels in the Easy Mode, you move on to the Medium Mode which is a 4 x 4 grid, the Hard Mode is a 5 x 5 grid, the Very Hard Mode is a 7 x 7 grid and the Impossible Mode is an 8 x 8 grid.

There are several categories available (each one has various difficulty modes) as well as a Daily Puzzle so it's a game that seems will keep updating with new additions! So you will have a theme of words that you will be searching for, if you are in the Christmas category, you know you will be searching for words that have to do with Christmas, and not some random word, such as, car seat.

It's not as easy as it sounds because you aren't searching for random words, you are searching for specific words! I will admit, I had to use the Hint feature a couple of times! There are two different types of hints, a Letter Hint that fills in the first letter of a random word at the bottom of the board so at least you have a starting point, and the other is a Word Hint that gives you a hint about the word you are searching for.

You earn 1 Hint for every Objective completed and 1 Word Hint for every 3 Objectives completed. There are 12 Objectives or goals to complete which are basically awards shown as Christmas Stamps. When you complete an Objective, a little present pops down from the top of the screen and when you click on it, you are awarded either a Letter Hint or a Word Hint.

The only feature I'd like to have seen added would have been a "Freeplay" section where you could search for random words, to try to find as many words as possible or to have to meet objectives such as finding a 3-letter word, a four-letter word, a five-letter word, a six-letter word, etc. Maybe that's a possibility with the Daily Game?

Bottom line is, we rarely get Word Games, I love Word Games and I love this Indie developer, so I will whole-heartedly support him, it's a yes to the game purchase for me! Come visit us at thewoodsforum.boards.net Show less

I'm in the very last chapter of the game (8x8 grid) and will be sad once I'm done.

The challenge increases as the grid size increases, going from 3x3 at first all the way to 8x8.

Here, thankfully, the letters are all "right side up" and you need to link the cells to form the required words, which will make those cells disappear. Those who play chain-type Match 3 will be familiar with the mechanics, which work here flawlessly.

Difficulty arises not just because the grid size increases, but also because you might find the right words but not use the desired letters, putting yourself in a corner.

I'm not going to use my review as a suggestion box or an ad to the player forums I below to; I'm simply here to provide feedback on the latest game I purchased and review it once almost completed (not just after 30 minutes of playtime.)

Yes, it has been a long, long time since the last Word game was released. Just finished playing the demo and enjoyed every minute of it even though I used that hint button for a letter more often than I'd normally have liked to in most other games. There is a mixture of easy, medium, hard and very hard puzzles in each level and boy, those very hard ones were really challenging for me but I liked it that way. The more I played, the better I got.

There was no automatic 'how to play' at the very beginning and I didn't look for any Help, just guessed and took a stab at it. You play the same as you do in some M3 games. Click on the first letter of the word you find and then hold down your mouse button while you pass over each of the next letters of the word, in order.

If word games appeal to you, I urge you to give the demo a try. I really enjoyed playing this one and hope it remains fun and entertaining right to the end. Show less

Well, this in my opinion is just an okay game. Not great. But not the worst of games. Yes, it starts out easy and progressively gets harder. But there is no replay value to it as each puzzle is the same throughout the game. It actually was fun at the beginning but then it just got boring. I really enjoyed this game, but I finished it too quickly. Levels are replayable, but you can't clear your progress and start over. There is no option to create player profiles and no way to reset the scores. I uninstalled and reinstalled both through the app and through add/remove programs, but the stats remained the same. This was fun while it lasted, but definitely needs a little more work put ...Show more

WANTS TO OPEN AS A .PDF FILE! What else can I say about a file which will not download except via Adobe? And... it wants me to download adobe even though I have it on my PC. Crazy! Too bad! I was looking forward to a new word game!
