I have played hidden object games for years but appreciate calmer games like this one where the player doesn't have to rush madly around. I enjoy the art and bits of conservancy information and the characters are all somewhat quirky but interesting. Looking forward to Mia's next trip! Show less

Since my laptop died, new one now, i am replaying many games. I "fell' upon this in an ad & feel in love with it. I then bought the other Faircroft games.
Only wish a few more directions as to how to play but I got through it. Also when someone is gifting something, it'd be kind of fun to see what was chosen but certainly not necessary

Great characters,, good dialog, great intriguing story line, and so enjoying my new "game find".
I definitely will play more Faircroft games that become available which I hope is soon. I didn't play the CE edition but I plan to when I finish all 3 games. This game is right up my alley as it has such good color, some items hard to find but a great hint bar that fills quickly & i love games that are not timed....a much for me, no timer.
Definitely recommend this game & other Faircrofts too. It's involving & fun. Give it a try. Probably not for experts but great for the rest of us. Show less

I would love to give this developer a higher Star Rating because they developed some of the most creative HOPAs back in the day, such as Awakening, Botanica, Emberwing, and one of my personal favorites, Otherworld. Unfortunately, this third game in the Faircroft's Antiques series is no different than the first or second game. They all 3 have a compatibility issue that renders the Mini-Games unplayable because it doesn't recognize that the player is clicking on a puzzle piece. Several people complained about this, while others had no issues, whatsoever, but enough people have complained that it DOES warrant some type of patch!
There are several grammatical errors and several mislabeled items listed such as "gun" which was actually a "cannon" I found the game extremely finicky about where you clicked on an object. If you weren't clicking the dead center of the object it wouldn't recognize the click. If you keep clicking because your eyes are positive about what they are seeing, the screen freezes up to penalize you, this is really frustrating when you give up and hit the hint button only to be shown the exact item you were just madly clicking on!
The Mini-Games on all 3 games so far have been impossible to complete, not because they are difficult, but because of the compatibility issue! A simple "Click to Rotate Square Tiles" game gets pretty complicated when you have to find the exact corner to click on, then you get to the last 4-5 squares and they won't rotate no matter where you click!
We aren't getting much when it comes to the Collector's Edition versions lately. Each release seems to include less and less CE bonus content...Are We Okay With That???? Less Content for twice the price isn't More of anything (less is more doesn't apply here) There are only 15 Main Levels and 5 CE Levels and 30 Mini-Games total (not extra!) BASED ON COMPLETED DEMO & PURCHASE
(& completing the demos to FA #1, 2, 3 & 4 as well as reading every review to each of those games.)
WHAT I LIKED:
-The graphics in this game are perfect. Each hidden object scene is done with care. The colors & contrast in scenes are a cut above.
-My favorite part is any scene that has animation; especially if you can see movement outside but the rest of the scene is otherwise static. I noticed FA #1 Treasures of Treffenburg had way more of these so I liked that game most.
-The zoom zones were really great but for the most part there was usually only one item to search for in them. I wish there was more interaction with those zoom zone windows, maybe even secondary tasks.
- The storyline and characters were great but not the delivery of the story; way too much clicking through text.
-The mini-games are easy but fun. I loved them.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE AS MUCH:
-In a Multiple HOS type of game, there should only be one of the listed items in the scene that you are searching in. For instance a scene in Chapter 2 has the word "butterfly" to find yet there are 3 others in the scene that aren't the right one.
- Even though it can be skipped, there is still way too much dialog to read that requires clicking through. I left "storyline rating" blank because I skipped all of it.
- The same songs and sound effects are both played **way** too much. I believe this series would benefit from environmental sounds as well. It would be nice if you don't like the song in the scene you could turn down the music in the menu options... but still hear environmental sounds instead (the way it is now, you can't hear anything.)
I found this funny:
The item you are searching for is "cookie". Can you see it there? It's in the middle of the city square. It's in *the middle of the road* and it is 5x larger than the helicopter in the same scene and the automobile it's sitting beside. Now we all know in 2021 there would be like 50 You Tubers around that cookie documenting that phenomenon. ;)
Here is the series list so far (based on 5* rating scale)
1. Faircroft's Antiques: Treasures of Treffenburg
CE out 11-14-20 rated 3*
2. Faircroft's Antiques: Home for Christmas
CE out 1-23-21 rated 3.2*
3. Faircroft's Antiques: The Heir of Glen Kinnoch
CE out 3-18-21 rated 3*
4. Faircroft's Antiques: The Forbidden Crypt
CE out 11-20-21 rated 2.6*
This is a good game that could have been great. I've noticed as each new game is released it has the exact same problematic features that were pointed out from the last one. I'm assuming the DEV just hasn't read our reviews... which is such a shame. Show less

It started out great but a few chapters in things started repeating. First a Hidden Object Scene, then another until it was all the same scenes. The types of puzzles started to be the same but worse of all they started throwing in children's puzzles. By that I don't mean simple for adults, I mean simple for small children. I was disappointed. so many games are tinky winky games
the adult games have been lost
or very short play time for Collectors
Difficult times - just when we need good games
& not airy fairy games

The previous games had a lot of dialogue, but only in between scenes. Now there is more dialogue than ever, and the worst thing is it now interrupts you in the middle of hidden object scenes, as well as before and after. Don't the developers realize just how annoying this is? I get that you can always skip the dialogue, but it gets old having to spend so much time doing that. Also, while the story adds to the interest of the game the first time you play, it just gets in the way when you replay the game. I wish this developer would cut down on the dialogue, quit interrupting mid-scene, and most of all allow us the option to turn off all dialogue. Unless that happens, this will be the last one of these I will buy. Show less
