I don't understand all the whining about the numbers on the cards. Yes, they are different but definitely readable. The hidden object scenes are clear and crisp. My only complaint is that I wish there were more. You get one HO scene for every 10 solitaire games played.
My suggestion is to at least try it. Doesn't cost anything to try it. And who knows -- maybe you will find a hidden treasure just like I did. Show less

I enjoy playing games through this developer and every time they do a detective game it always makes a change to play one rather than the bog standard style that I keep playing

Normally I am ecstatic whenever this particular developer releases a new Solitaire game. I have purchased every game they develop and I've yet to be disappointed. I still liked Detective Notes, but it just didn't thrill me because they opted to do away with those infamous morphing boosters, a feature I absolutely love! My custom cursor didn't budge unless I held down on the right mouse button so I had to disable the custom cursor, which wasn't an issue until I played the HO scene where I had to blindly find a zoom zone when the cursor didn't automatically change, then when I clicked the zoom zone, the custom cursor magically appeared again and I had to go back to the main menu to disable the cursor again. I also wasn't a fan of the card font graphics which was a gothic style font that made it difficult to figure out what some of the numbers actually were. I did enjoy the "detective" missing person, whodunitandwhy, theme because the story is quite interesting. ও
You can choose from 4 Card Graphic Styles and 2 Font Styles (a large font & a themed font) and you can choose to play as Mark or Lily as well as a Casual, or Advanced difficulty Mode. There are 11 Trophy Achievements, 8 Extra Stories (Character Bios) 10 Wallpapers, 200 Solitaire Levels, and 20 Hidden Object Scenes, available after completing 10 solitaire levels.
This is a Higher/Lower Solitaire Game and the goal is to earn all 3 Stars (levels can be replayed) You will earn 3-stars if all cards are removed, 2-stars if 1-2 cards remain, and 1-star if 3-4 cards remain, 0-stars if 4 or more cards remain. Combos start at 6 cards to increase the Index Multiplier Bar, and each level gives you 1 Undo.
As you progress, you will earn Jokers and number-specific Wildcards. A single click will add them to the pocket for later use, but the slot only allows for 4 cards so once full, the cards on the board will be played when clicked upon. Jokers & Wildcards can also be purchased in the Shop with the coins you earn, you can also purchase a deck card counter and upgrades to the Four Power-up Cards.
The Power-up or Booster Cards will help you as you progress and each card can be upgraded x2 by purchasing in the shop with the coins you earn.
*Clue Search Booster: changes the card in the deck to a useful card.
*Dead Eye removes any selected active card.
*Double Tap: randomly removes 2 cards from the board.
*Cover the Tracks: shuffles all cards on the board.

Obstacles Cards are added to the mix after a couple of levels such as Handcuffs that require uncovering and playing the Key Card, and Chained Cards that require the card to be played twice, once to remove the chain, a second time to remove the actual card. Normally, this developer adds morphing bonuses to the cards that give you extra cards, flips over face-down cards x2, or adds coins when the card is played. This feature is one of my favorite features in a solitaire game, it was a unique feature and the reason I fell in love with solitaire games by this developer!
I switched to the Casual Mode because I just couldn't get any cards that I needed but that didn't seem to matter, I would still click through 10 or so worthless deck cards before I'd get a card that was usable and by that time, I was running low on deck cards and I would lose the level. The Casual Mode was a little easier because you get more cards, but this isn't a cakewalk solitaire game and you will probably have to replay levels to get a perfect score! I actually don't mind this part, if you win every level easily the game can get boring after a few chapters.
The bottom line is that if you don't mind the fact that they don't have the morphing bonuses, this is a decent Solitaire game with a really good missing person, Detective-plot to solve, not to mention that you get to play a Hidden Object Scene to break up the monotony after a few solitaire hands. I like all the features, the obstacle cards add a little extra challenge and bonuses are good, but I do not care for the card backs and fronts. They are unattractive and some of the numbers are hard to make out. This minor issue did not effect the fun, of course.
I like this relaxed style of solitaire but it does present it's challenges and the bonuses are nice to have on hand. Having 200 levels, 20 HOs and some trophy achievements to earn, I find this solitaire lots of fun especially with the detective story attached. I played as Lily in the demo, trying the Advanced Mode, but will most likely continue in Casual. I'm not sure but I think you get more cards in Casual Mode. Even if that's true, it doesn't alleviate my efforts by much, to achieve a perfect score. And that's exactly how I like it. A good challenge without the hair-pulling experience. I enjoyed the demo and bought game. Show less

For me that was very off putting and yes I know you can buy this feature but not in my demo time and even the dev that can't be named gives you this feature without any charge.
So for me I am not going to purchase this however it is a good game with a good story and they do try and change their games which I admire them for that but please make your fonts more pleasing on the eye. Show less

I don't know why the Devs always put big black borders top and bottom of games. I use a large monitor and it's a real pain particularly when it chops off words. This could be a much better game. The main annoyance is that you can't turn off the tutorial. I don't need to know all this info. If I get stuck then I will read the help if there is one. The fonts are awful to read. You have to play a hand so many times to finally win. There are few options to get wild cards, or other items that help you win as you play through the game like in most games. The numbers make you think carefully or you will miss a move. One undo per hand is not enough for casual play going fast or even slow with bad fonts.
