I am not sure what all the negativity is about.....but I'm guessing it's because a lot of folks do not feel challenged by this game, but I'm pretty sure that is not what the developer had in mind. This game's purpose is just to relax and take your mind elsewhere for awhile, which for me certainly does. When I want something more quick or exciting, I just go for a different genre all together. I love all these games, its restful & fun, not every game has to be dark & difficult, surely its nice now & again to just to do something restful. If a game is badly made or has problems then its right to say so but just because its not to your taste I don't know why people are so rude. Remember we are all members & so deserve games we like as well,

Don't be put off by the negativity surrounding this and others of its type. If you want something to help you relax, maybe just before bed, these paint by numbers games are the perfect way to help your mind slow down after a hectic day.

There are different styles of this genre; I don't like the ones with multi coloured cats or other unrealistic images. The Modern Art series doesn't do explosions in a paint shop; it does beautiful scenery and animals that slowly come to life as you progress through the images.

There always seems to be a tiny piece I can't see but you can use the hint if you can't find it! My advice is to choose a background colour that doesn't often appear in any of the pictures; I have mine set at a bright purple, which helps me see some of the smaller pieces (but not all of them!).

The only downside is you have to complete the first set of relatively easy images before you can move on. Once you've done that, all the other images become available. Only one particular developer forces you to complete every page before moving on to the next. These also happen to use the 'explosion in a paint shop' style, which I don't like so I avoid them (they also do mosaics, the ones with the gormless helper robot).

I love these games; they're relaxing and fun to do. They make me feel like I'm actually creating something beautiful. They can be challenging too; definitely not for 2 year olds ;-) Show less

This game is not challenging, not timed, not anything but relaxing fun. I can watch movies or listen to the news without being distracted. Being an older player, the ability to change colors on the indicator is very helpful to these old eyes, because I try to finish each one without zooming, though the option is there.

I've purchased every version of this game and go back often to replay them. You don't have to create a new profile to do so. I really enjoy the textures in the finished "paintings." Some are truly beautiful, and I would hang them on my wall if I had the opportunity!

I usually turn the music and sound effects off because I listen to other media while playing, but it's pleasant music, for sure.

My only wish is that there were MORE pictures in the games for the price we pay. Otherwise, very nice. Show less

I do not understand the negative reviews. I have purchased all of the Modern Art releases as well as all of the Art by Numbers and Paint by Numbers. I find them to be totally relaxing after working from home all day looking at spreadsheets, writing reports, etc. The perfect thing after I am brain dead. Lately they are about the only games that I have purchased. Please keep them coming!!!

I have also loved the little scenes from history with a male figure dressed in the time period of the background.

If this type of game is not to your liking - please don't waste your time in playing them and negatively reporting them, just go back to your first-person shooters. Show less
