Many find fault with Fantasy Mosaics, but I love the scenes in between the puzzles, where you can interact with the scenery. It's so much fun to me and so exciting! I jump on it as soon as there's a new puzzle out!

The folks at Match Gems keep producing these games, and I keep trying/buying them! The features don't change, but the goal is to exercise your brain. I'm not going to whine about the lack of new features: they stay true to a winning formula. The features from Crossword Puzzles haven't changed in decades, so I won't whine about that either.

I'm not going to whine about the lack of new features: they stay true to a winning formula. The features from Crossword Puzzles haven't changed in decades, so I won't whine about that either.

Are ALL the images related to the theme? I don't know... like most here writing an early review, I didn't complete all levels of the game yet! Can't really comment on adherence to the theme.

Is the English impeccable? Probably not, but as long as it's not critical to the gameplay, there's always room for improvement (besides, even people who use English as their primary language are showing a downward trend in grammar!)

Can all the levels be completed without using one of the provided tools? As I said, I haven't played all levels, so I'm not going to criticize that.

It's easy to make suggestions (I want more tile shapes, I want brighter colors, I want more levels, I want bigger boards, I want new features, I want nicer pictures, I want a better story), thinking that MOST players would agree with me (and perhaps they would), but the FUNDAMENTAL question one must ask him/herself is this: will I enjoy playing the game AS IT IS? For me, that's a YES. Sure, not everybody will agree: that's why there are tens of thousands of games out there, and I predict NOT A SINGLE ONE is perfect. However, some, for my taste, come really close!

I'm getting a game to have fun, and this hits the mark. It's cheaper than a happy meal, and the enjoyment of my investment lasts a LOT longer!

I too could list some forums I belong to and talk about being with friendly/helpful folks there; maybe all reviewers can share? Here on BFG, I provide my impressions of the game, hoping to help others. Unfortunately, no emoticons here.

For FM47, I've had no surprises so far, and I can happily live with that. I'm hoping for a 48th! Show less

My rating for Visual/Sound is based solely on the Visual, as I do not listen to any of the sounds. Also, I do not follow the story lines and rarely play the bonus games. So other than than, I agree with EveOfLove2.

I recommend this game!

The penguins seem to have a lot of bad luck and their 47th adventure is no exception to the rule! The Penguin family finds themselves in a new predicament after a storm blows out their balloon's fire and they make an emergency landing in Egypt. Perhaps they should stick to adventures that don't present opportunities to put them in dire distress, I hear Antarctica is fairly adventure-free, other than the occasional hangry seal?

The Zen Mode has returned for those who prefer to solve the griddlers without all the hand/flipper holding. In Zen Mode, the numbers aren't crossed off but Mistakes aren't counted against you either, because chances are, you'll have to edit some of the cells as you switch between colors. You can delete filled-in or crossed-off cells by right-clicking the cell in Zen Mode, and you'll know you have completed a particular color correctly because a checkmark will appear on the color bubble.

You can play in a Casual Mode which crosses off the cells one by one, or the Advanced Mode, which only crosses off the remaining cells once the entire row and column have been filled in. You will earn a Gold trophy if you make no mistakes, a Silver trophy if you make one mistake, and a Bronze trophy if you make two mistakes. You will also earn up to three gold Stars if you don't use any hints, one star is deducted each time you use a hint. Therefore, it is possible to make a mistake or two but still earn 3 stars as long as you don't use any available hints.

There are 20 locations, and each location has 5 Griddlers and an additional mini-game. You can choose from 7 different tile sets, ranging in color vibrancy, and styles. Locked Colors can be disabled in the Settings menu, otherwise, some of the colors are locked and unavailable until you uncover color-specific keys that are hidden beneath some of the filled-in cells The Eye feature allows you to hide the grid to get a look at the puzzle without all the grid lines, and there is a reset icon that makes it much easier to restart the level if you make a mistake.

There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to cross-off cells that can't possibly contain a filled-in cell, which will reduce the number of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit, when you get stuck, you can switch colors and work back and forth until it's solved.

Some of the cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed, or an extra pickax which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on, and some cells contain keys to unlock colors (unless you disable this feature in settings) There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega-hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice. There are plenty of levels, some mini games, 7 tile choices are nothing out of the ordinary, several game modes including Zen. The images are cute but not as much as in the older games, colors are still beautiful, the power-ups do their thing quite well. If you haven't tried FM before I know you will be thrilled with it. It 's a bit challenging with its logic-based puzzles but at the same time relaxing. The penguins are cute until you've been on too many excursions with them. I got tired of it, but I know many fans still love them. The series is great if you have no problem buying the same game over and over again.

I've seen very few changes along the way. The dev's imagination and creativity are apparently MIA, they've become lazy with their efforts. Some changes are needed to make it more appealing. There's lots of top competition now and that's where my attention has gone. The one big negative for me is that there is no Save Option! It has been requested so many times and here we are with Number 47 and still no save! Why the reluctance for such a helpful feature?

Fantasy Mosaics got me hooked on this genre and I do own 20 of their games. It offers some nice features and options and is worth checking out. I don't think you'll be disappointed. But for me it is just worn out, the cuteness of the penguins has faded. Would love to see a new family, different decorating themes, new features. Show less

Honestly, I don't understand how people can give the same game such high ratings. This 47th installment has the same interface, the same powerup types, the same characters, the same clunky graphics, the same everything!!

Saying you can "interact" with this game is misleading. Hovering over an object and watching it move an eighth of an inch in either direction is not what I consider interactive gameplay. Minigames are few and they do not come with instructions. Granted, most are simple but there was one I simply could not solve and there was no way to see the solution.

If you have never played one of the mosaic games in this series, you will no doubt find it fun. But after 47 of these things, these are not only boring, but it shows great laziness and lack of imagination when it comes to the developers. Show less

I have enjoyed these FM games and own all of them but the earliest single color ones. My enjoyment went shooting up when the scenes became interactive. I have enjoyed all the mini-games. So I am a fan.

However, this FM 47 has been a big disappointment! The puzzles became too easy. This is the 1st time I couldn't complete a number of the mini-games. The interactive scenes became less interactive. The climax of the whole game ended with lifeless vases in a fairly lifeless throne room. It seems like the developers totally ran out of steam before they finished the game. Show less
