I was really afraid that Awigor got caught up in the misery in Eastern Europe, so my smile was extra wide when I saw the 12th issue sitting there, icon pretty as can be, on the PC home page.

As usual, I bought it immediately and, as usual, it is a pure delight. Oh, and I filled up the "Storyline" rating by mistake and can't undo it.

As usual, I bought it immediately and, as usual, it is a pure delight. Oh, and I filled up the "Storyline" rating by mistake and can't undo it.

Beautiful quilted images with perfect shadowing and wonderful color blends are irresistible - choosing which one to paint first is the real challenge.

For those of you who are new to Art by Numbers:

* Excellent tutorial you can access at any time
* Zoom in, zoom out at a touch of the mouse wheel. The image can be enlarged as big as you want so you can tap your brush onto the smallest elements.
* Grab the image and move it around the board so you can work on any area, or simply follow the 'next color' gray area.
* Change the background to either very light or full-on black (I use the black because it makes the images pop).
* Stunning artwork - you won't get bored.
* The demo allows you to scroll through all levels so you can give the game a real test drive.
* The palettes are a pure joy - scroll up and down through anywhere from just a few colors to as many as 70, 80+ different luxurious blends and shades.
* The background music for this issue is just plain lovely.

So there you go, a wonderful edition of Art by Numbers for painting enthusiasts, great for all ages. Show less

Art by Numbers & I luv the little Robot in the beginning of the game he's like the Mascot of these series. I do hope you keep these wonderful games coming and also keep the subjects Large, Larger & Huge as possible, because I like to spend lots of time painting in the colors and so do others by all the great ratings that has been posted... Nice to have a new Art by Numbers game - relaxing, colorful, good music, relaxing, controls work well, relaxing, pleasurable, addicting, and have I mentioned relaxing? Always enjoy the paint games from this developer. Bright colors and fun scenes and the ability to do pictures in any order or skip one completely make for great stress relief.

Keep them coming, please! :)

It's always a happy start to the day when Art By Numbers is waiting to greet you. Number 12 delivers all the beautiful color and painting magic that we all love in this series. I have noticed, however, that the pictures are shrinking and the artwork isn't as interesting but still offers enough variety to please most of us. My little corner of the world loves color!

I love that all the images are available right from the beginning which is really important in the decision to purchase but I don't love that the robot hasn't gone bye-bye yet. There has been no change in the minimumal features, I wish something new had been added. The color palette is still brimming with gorgeous colors and the huge assortment makes painting lots of fun. Nothing drab in Art By Numbers! I enjoy the Free-Color option so I can let my imagination loose but the color choices are limited and don't seem as vivid as in the main game.

The artwork, as in the last several games, hasn't been as enjoyable to me for a couple of reasons. The images contain more and more of those almost microscopic dots and slivers of area that are impossible to detect. I always appreciate challenge but, surely, there is a more fun way to present it. It's very frustrating and resorting to using hints in most pics is a blow to my ego! (lol) Also, most of the art pieces have no background which shortens the time to complete, eliminates the beauty/interest that the additional surroundings create and takes away much of the pleasure of painting. A few pics were so skinny and uninteresting, they were finished in a flash.

Today's collection of art is the same busy style of misc shapes and patterns that never cease to delight. I love how they all come together in color and design to create all these images. This time I thought most of the pics were more of a B+ rather than the usual A++. I found the robot, the skinny jar containing a bunch of doo-dads, the laptop with burger and fries, just to name a few, and one with a stack of pillows very unappealing. There were few animals included this time, again most were just heads, no backgrounds. The pieces included the usual variety of people, animals, flowers, food, etc. The full-size pieces were really nice and more fun than the others, at least for me.

There is always something for everyone in Art By Numbers. Children and adults can paint to their heart's content and do it all again with the Free-Color option. The 72 images can be repeated, I like that they are all accessible up front and we can jump around to whichever one we want. This is always a quality game all the way. I rated 4 stars for Number 12 because there weren't enough full-size pics and too many teensy-weensy areas. That may not bother others like it does me, but this time I have to give purchasing a bit more thought. Show less

I have enjoyed Art by Numbers since the first release. I found them relaxing, taking me away from the stress of the day.

While I still like completing the colorful pictures, the last few releases have not been as relaxing as the earlier versions. I say this because, as a previous poster said, there are so many miniscule dots, lines, etc., that it takes away from the enjoyment of completing the ...Show more

I always try to finish the pictures without using a hint. Now, I find I have to use the hint more and more. I would like the developers to go back to earlier versions and see how the pictures could still be somewhat challenging without making it almost impossible to complete without using the hint.

All that said, I still enjoy Art by Numbers and look forward to the next release. Show less

I really like Art by Numbers the best of all the coloring ones. But, I really wish they'd choose better pictures to color. Get rid of food, cans, sewing, clothing, etc. Also, animals that are full of designs, as well as other things full of designs. What's wrong with pictures of people, animals, scenery, and backgrounds? That's what I'd like to color. And stop adding a bunch of circles, etc to the ...Show more

This is by far one of the best coloring games on the market and I do enjoy Art By Numbers, but...please Awigor, don't get lazy on us! I kept noticing that several of the pictures have intricate details, separated by black lines of course, but then it was all filled in by the same color, at least make them different shades, it's a coloring game! (the portrait of several colorful dogs is a prime example) I only loved about half of the picture selections, the other 50% was plain ole boring so make sure all of the pictures are interesting, otherwise, this game will borderline in comparison with the other painting game which has dreadful pictures! PS: most of us hate the robot named Helper!

I love that I can choose ANY of the images right from the start, unlike the "other" painting series, and having a Freeplay section is most impressive! The Freeplay section is by far one of the best features offered in a coloring game. This feature allows you to choose your own colors from a complete, full-scale color palette so you can be as creative as you want to be. My second favorite feature is that each color tells you how many cells you'll need to fill in and it keeps track of the ones you've filled in so you know exactly how many remain unfilled.

The cursor is an actual Paintbrush and they also have a Wide Brush option that mimics the real McCoy, as if you were filling in areas a little at a time. You can choose from 4 different Background Textures that will compliment your completed works of art (72 total) You can also choose the color of shading for the numbered areas.

The colors are beautiful with carefully chosen hues of yellows, purples, pinks, fuchsias, teals, oranges, etc. whereas the "other" painting series has unappealing colors with a ton of brown and black variations.

There's always something interesting going on at my new forum! If you miss chatting with fellow fishies from the Big Fish Forum days then grab a thermos full of coffee, throw on your favorite jeans & t-shirt, and lace up your hiking boots...ah who are we kidding...just keep your comfy fuzzy slippers on, and come chillax with us by the fire at thewoodsforum.boards.net Show less

I will never finish any piece of artwork that contains dozens and dozens of tiny dots.
It's exasperating, tedious & insane.
