There are five Worlds in this Universe and each of those Worlds has a Sleeping Guardian to defend our worlds against evil Malum. The Sleepers are the last defense between Peace and Chaos, and they must remain asleep at all cost if one awakens, the others will arise as well. The Sleepers protect our worlds from evil, and the Order of Guardians protect the Sleepers. Grace is one of those protectors, a Guardian sworn to protect the Sleepers, just as her father before her. Unfortunately, one of the Guardians has broken the sacred vow and has awoken a Sleeper, a Sleeper who happens to be his own sister! The balance between peace and chaos has been disturbed, and as other Sleepers begin to awaken, Grace must find a way to restore the fine line of balance before the evil of Malum spreads out of control.
GrandMa has clearly worked hard on this fantasy-themed edition of Reflections of Life! I will admit that I haven't been crazy about the last few games by GrandMa Studio's but I have to give credit when credit is warranted, and Slipping Hope has revived my faith in GrandMa once again. They clearly poured their hearts and souls into this game, the quality is superb, the quantity is money-worthy, the entertainment value is off the charts and it's by far the best Reflections Of Life game in the series. I'll go one step further and say that it's one of the best fantasy-themed games I've played in quite some time!
There is a Gadget/Helper, a Mechanical Owl used to retrieve and interact with objects out of our reach. He' isn't used that often and as far as Helpers go, this one actually fits in nicely because it is a fantasy game. My only complaint is that he's a tad bit noisy during his "downtime" as he who-hoots a bit too much. In this Collector's Edition version there are Hidden Spy Bats, and I LOVED them! Only the tips of their tiny ears and tail poke out from their hiding places, but once you click on them they take flight to get out of Dodge quickly. They definitely add the "awe" factor because they are adorable (and should be in a fantasy-themed game!) I wish they were a little bit smaller so they would be harder to spot, but I LOVED this feature too. This CE version also features Hidden Coins of Gold, Emeralds, and Ruby, within Zoom Zones. You can purchase Magical Creatures with the coins AND you get the chance to return to the scenes after completing the Main Game and Bonus Chapter, to pick up any missed coins or bats! Personally, I find this feature very appealing and for going the extra mile, I give this opportunity an A+ and a thumbs up!!! This CE version also has a Bonus Hidden Puzzle which is one of the most creative puzzles I've ever seen, again, GrandMa has gone the extra mile and they raised the HOPA bar for those to come :)
The Hidden Object Scenes are well designed and their locations were interesting. In this Collector's Edition version, each main HOP (not zoom zone HOP's) have a Morphing Owl to spot, or is it a spotted owl to morph? Most of them are Interactive Silhouetted Shape finds or Multiple Silhouetted Shape finds such as finding 12 stone fragments. I really enjoyed the repetitive Progressive Interactive Silhouetted Shape HOP's that require Finding & Replacing the Objects within 3 different scenes by clicking on 3 different emblems to change locations (once you found the emblems) There are several Zoom Zone HOP's where you are tasked with finding groups of 3 silhouetted shapes such as 3 eyes, 3 bones etc. Many of the HOS's include a small puzzle to solve such as placing stone fragments into highlighted sections. You can opt to play an Alternate Match 3 Games instead of the Hidden Object Scenes as well.
The Mini-Games range from super quick and easy to somewhat complex, but I was able to solve all of them without having to skip any of them, nor did I want to because I enjoyed this game immensely. Below are brief descriptions of some of the puzzles available in the demo and main game:
1-Align 4 image sections by adjusting rotation, size, and width.
2-Use the Magic Lens to locate 3 images shown on each page x3.
3-Strum the Harp cords in the order shown on the clue.
4-Swap hexagonal puzzle pieces to restore the image.
5-Shoot identical color/position Bats
6-Rotate sections to place all 4 stones into center matching slots.
7-Select 3 partial symbols to create each symbol shown.
8-Navigate the boat to each lighthouse to clear the fog while avoiding obstacles.
9-Stretch out all of the snakes, clicking one may affect others.
10-Draw a continuous line between all gems.
11-Rotate Hexagonal pieces to restore the picture.
This Collector's Edition version has 14 Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art pictures, 8 Music Soundtracks, re-playable Movie Cutscene Videos, 14 re-playable Mini-Games (out of a whopping 35) 16 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes (16/19) 19 Morphing Objects within the HOP's, 14 Achievements to Earn, 48 Hidden Coins (16 Gold, 16 Emerald, 16 Ruby) 10 Magical Creatures (to purchase with the coins) 36 Hidden Spy Bats (only the tips of their ears & tail are visible) 5 Main Chapters (Finding The Truth) +Bonus Chapter (Testing And Trials) Hidden Puzzle Chapter (Interactive Progressive super-puzzle) a built-in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, sleep well, enjoy!

Very interesting about The Order of Guardians and The Sleepers. I thought it was a very creative idea for a story. Even though I'm not a big fan of traveling to different worlds, I may enjoy it this time.
I hope there is more of the immortal sea captain in the main game. He peaked my interest and I want to know his story. Saw only a few characters in the demo. They were done very well, there was credible emotion when speaking, the flow of speech was natural. I love the clothing in fantasy games, always beautifully designed and lots of color. However, the evil character who appeared in the demo was not so good, she looked and sounded too cartoonish, IMO.
The graphics were gorgeous, except a few times they seemed blurred and color was faded. Maybe it was meant as a special effect. The scenes were all filled with elaborate pieces of artsy things, beautifully crafted. Love just looking at it all. I think everything was done extremely well for this kind of story,
The HOPs were absolutely fantastic, super interactive and challenging. Some were brand new to me and so much fun. I even loved the storybook ones which is usually not the case. I wish other games offered this quality in their HOPs! The puzzles were unique and varied in style. The picture puzzles are my favorites.
Just one complaint here. This game has a helper and a useless one at that. A stupid owl that reaches the high places for you, but all he does is fly up there and stare at the item you need. If we must use a helper, it would be nice if it really helped! But personally, I don't think we need one. Gimmicks just irritate me to no end and kind of disrupt the gameplay for me. It would be nice if the helper was at least an option for those who love them, like the cursor and the game modes.
All in all, the demo shows promise of a very entertaining game. I think it will appeal to anyone who loves this game genre. It has a variety of game modes, so no one is left out of the fun. And with 5 different worlds to visit, it will probably be a long game. Well here I go, off to that darn Buy Now button AGAIN!!

I haven't been much of a fan in the Reflections of Life series so I entered this installment with a degree of disillusionment. The beginning of the story did not whet my appetite but as I continued the game the hidden object segments and the puzzles became an important element in advancing the story line and I found renewed energy for staying with the game.
The story in and of itself is nothing new. Here we have sleepers who are protecting the world from Malum which if unleashed will wreak havoc on all that we cherish. If the sleepers are awakened doom is certain to follow. The player is a Guardian sent to this dangerous place and soon finds him/her self in peril. Not long into the game one of the sleepers ( Anariette ) is awakened and takes the form of a harpy-like creature and she is dead set on disturbing the slumber of the other sleepers so the world as we know it can be destroyed.
One aspect of these apocalyptic style games I can never understand is that if the bad guys succeed then the bad guys are also doomed to oblivion.
At any rate the story keeps evolving until such time that the Guardian is face with either killing someone who has been assisting the Guardian or killing someone who has been a minion of Anariette. After making my choice the demo suddenly ends.
Now I'm intrigued enough to want more so there is a good chance of my acquiring the game. I am not sure if the CE version is worth the extra cost as the collectible bats and tree symbols didn't do much to make me want to find them.
The best part of the game is certainly the solidly designed hidden object segments and the puzzles, both of which are entertaining and require a degree of thought to reach conclusions.
One of the nicer aspects is the gaming world, at least for those of us who relish HOPA, has a year ending game that players can enthusiastically sink teeth into.

I liked collecting the spying bats as they would spark to flight when you found them. If you find all of them you open a hidden puzzle in the end. You can find the ones you missed. It has a indicator on the side as to how many and if you found them all.
The different colored coins found in the zoom areas can be exchanged for magical creatures once you have enough coins. They have legend info for that creature and you have to use the color it wants for every one.
The story is sad as to what needs to be done. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I did like going to different Guardian worlds. The ship and captain was my favorite world.

Reflections of Life is always a beautiful game filled with every color, clear and lovely realistic picture that make compelling and original fantasies come to life for me. Slipping Hope is another of these very well crafted games in bright radiant colours and a high level of detail in everything. The story is well told and well written. The voices are clear, melodic, and easy to listen to. The characters made sense.
The hops are perfect, with well defined objects that are neither overly easy to find, nor so difficult I lose my sense of fun and want to give up. The sheer beauty of the design makes up for the more well hidden objects being harder to find. I did find most objects really quickly, so far as I've played. This is the way I like my hops, so that they flow with the rest of the game, with just a hint of challenge. I am completely in love with the in-hop morphing objects. These are exactly perfect. I like to leave them flickering while I search for other objects.
The puzzles have been some of my favourite kinds, very creatively made. I enjoy the twisting and turning, and especially resizing objects. I love a high variety of challenging mini-games and intricate puzzles with clear designs, like the ones I have found in the demo. I am also fond of handheld lenses and enjoyed that first book search.
The hidden bats are hard for me to find but not impossible and very clear once I know what I am looking at. What is more, there is in extras a page of empty, and then not, little bat silhouettes from which bats can be sought throughout the game by locating unfound bats and jumping you back.
I barely noticed the coins but they are written on. I really quite like the "statuettes" that you can buy with them.
I like the owl. It is not silly looking or ugly and it doesn't talk or demand my attention. It just flies up to high things and takes them down. It adds to the visual experience without exacting energy. Plus, I loved wearing the brightly painted leather glove he perched on.
The wallpapers were better than ordinary, very beautiful, unusual pictures, and a great variety of types of pictures for differing tastes. I like the one filled with stairs the best, and the icons and the mythical beasts. And I don't ordinarily like character portraits, but I like these, they are so well drawn, and creative and painted. I always like a cat.
I will definitely purchase the collectors edition of this game.

REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME
5 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter- Strategy Guide: 36 Pages (This is a long game)
OVERVIEW: Enter a world where dreams protect the fairytale world from evil spells. Five (5) Sleepers are entrusted with the task, protecting the five (5) worlds which make up this kingdom. The Order of the Guardians, to which you belong, has been given the responsibility of safeguarding the Sleepers. Each Sleeper is tasked with guarding each of the five (5) pieces of the evil Malum within their dreams. However, an evildoer, with the help of a traitor from the Guard, is plotting to awaken the Sleepers and reunite the pieces to destroy the kingdom. Now you must travel to each world to find the pieces of the Malum and locate the one item which can destroy it once and for all!
OPINION: What a fantastic game! Get prepared to play a long, well-designed game. GrandMA has done an outstanding job in providing an exceptional game. The demo does not do justice to this game. The game is much better after the demo. It is a fast-paced game with plenty of activities set against a riveting story in which you visit five worlds of this kingdom. The game is beautifully illustrated with some amazing graphics. There are a couple of new HOP scenes which I have never seen in other games. The puzzles are also creatively designed. This game is a must-have for all fantasy game lovers.
MECHANICS: There are four (4) levels of play including a customized version. There are thirteen (13) achievements. Collect gold, emerald, and ruby coins to purchase ten (10) statues. Collect thirty-six (36) spying bats. There are fourteen (14) wallpapers along with music selections and video sequences. There are twelve (12) morphing objects within the HOP scenes. I found most easy to locate. You can replay sixteen (16) HOP scenes and fourteen (14) mini-games. There is an interactive hidden puzzle which can be played at the end of the game; however, you must locate all the spying bats to play this puzzle.
GIMMICKY HELPER: This is my only disappointment with this game. You get an owl to help you reach high places. I don’t like helpers in games; however, this one just flies to places you cannot reach. It may be a logical addition to this game; however, I do believe the game would be better without this nuisance.
BONUS CHAPTER: It is another story set in the same fairytale kingdom. Play a young warrior who must prove himself worthy to be admitted into the Order of the Flameborn. You have three (3) trials you must perform during the Night of the Red Star. You revisit the scenes from the main game. You lose the helper owl; however, you still continue to search for all the collectibles within this chapter. This chapter is long with nine (9) puzzles and five (5) HOP scenes along with several mini-HOP scenes.
HOP SCENES: There are nineteen (19) scenes within the game. There are also thirteen (13) mini-HOP scenes throughout the game in which you must locate a small number of items or pieces of some item. They are interactive and creatively designed. They include lists of items, silhouette, storybook and matching scenes. There are some wonderfully designed interactive search and replace scenes as well. There is one scene with rebus clues. You also have the option to play a Match-3 game in lieu of the scenes.
There are three which I found outstanding! In once you must rotate rings to create the items to be removed. In another, you use sliders to position items into their proper slots in the scene before removing them. There is another unique one in the bonus chapter in which you must place silhouette shaped items based on patterns, not shapes, into an area where you find the pattern. I have never seen this HOP scene before.
PUZZLES: There are thirty-five (35) puzzles within the game. They vary in difficulty and style. Whenever you enter the portal to a new world, you play a variation of a picture puzzle. These puzzles have the option to be played in either a “hard” or “easy” mode. Most of those are switch puzzles in which you switch pieces to restore an image. However, one of those requires rotating the pieces to restore the image. I found the puzzles creatively designed.
HIDDEN PUZZLE: There is an awesome puzzle at the end of the game which is an interactive sequential puzzle. You must interact with the scene in steps by locating items and interacting with the scene in order to reach a cabinet containing a scroll. I have never seen a puzzle like this before in a game and enjoyed playing this multiple-step puzzle.
SPOILERS: HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITE PUZZLES AFTER THE DEMO:
A. Mathematical puzzle. Moving two or three spaces clockwise and counterclockwise, push in spears jutting out from a circular disk. You must plot your sequence mathematically to push in all spears.
B. Assembly puzzle. Move five (5) bars with images on them so they match up with a bar at the bottom of the screen. Every image on the bottom bar must have at least one image which matches up with it.
C. Connection puzzle. Connect gems with numbers on them so that the number of lines connecting each gem with others is equal to the number upon the gem.
D. Corral/Fence puzzle. Surround an evildoer by using a sword to defeat it. Land on spaces to surround it. However, landing on a square will only last for 3 turns. Rather tricky puzzle.
BONUS CHAPTER:
E. Connection puzzle. Place crystals with light beams emanating from them into the proper position so that they all connect and connect with a larger middle crystal.
F. Connection puzzle. Connect the hands of elves around a circle. All of them must touch hands with another elf.
G. Colored sand puzzle. Just as with the arts and craft project – place colored sand in a jar so that no color is next to itself.
