I would have given this at least four stars or more, but the two star review was so unfair I made sure to throw in an extra star to balance things out. At the very least, if adventure games are not your thing, then either don't review it, or just go with three stars so as not to cause other players to bypass this wonderful story.

I would have given this at least four stars or more, but the two star review was so unfair I made sure to throw in an extra star to balance things out. At the very least, if adventure games are not your thing, then either don't review it, or just go with three stars so as not to cause other players to bypass this wonderful story.

If you have played the previous games in this series, then it's right up there with those, and continues the story. It's an adventure game, with some hidden object games tossed in. Yes, there's dialog, but not too much, there is a bit of going from room to room to find items to use to achieve your objective, but it makes perfect sense with the story. The music? Well its moody to go along with the danger theme.

All the other elements are there, collection objects and morphing objects to find, transporting map, and customizable difficulties. The puzzles are not a stretch, but they are very entertaining.

I thoroughly enjoyed the demo and I plan on adding this game to my collection. Don't let the naysayers who only like HOPS cause you to miss out on this gem. Show less

I was happy too see that there are other players that disagree with the Key Contributors’ comments on this wonderful game. I liked it better than the other games in this series. The puzzles and hidden object scenes were great and a lot of the puzzles I had never seen before in games by other devs...and I play a lot since I retired. I laughed out loud when they showed the dog still chasing the ball ...Show more

The whole magical element wrapped in reality thing is perfect for me. I am a fan of so many of this developers games and when I see a new member of one of my favorite series it's almost an instant buy, but I always do the trial just to make sure, and this one fits nicely with the others.
All the bells and whistles a collector's edition should have, morphs, collections, etc. plus that "it" factor. ...Show more

I like this game as much as the others so far.

Only thing is after the update I can't seem to finish the bonus chapter or I'm stuck.
If you don't like searching around foe items this game is not for you. Couple puzzles I had a hard time with bur other wise they were easy to figure out.

This game had a unique Intriguing story line, very fresh & original. The opening sequence was terrific, same with the early scenes which gave you that City, Detective story feel.

There were a fair amount of interesting, creative puzzles. And the HOGs were just enough that they didn't go overboard with the difficulty.

Most of the objects and puzzles made logical sense and the story progressed very nicely without all of that Guy in hood ancient doom n gloom or cheesy love story.

Again, I understand that gaming tastes are subjective, but trust me for a cozy adventure game, you'll absolutely love this one. I can't wait to play the others in the series! EXCELLENT! Show less

I enjoyed playing this game very much. The visual and particularly the sound quality are excellent with the small exception of Uncle Fen who sounds about as Chinese as Captain Kangaroo. Puzzles are a nice range of fairly easy to moderately difficult. The HOPs are unique and added a definite plus to the overall gameplay. Storyline is good. Finally a male detective.

I recommend this game!

I wasn't bowled over by this game, but it's better than most we've had lately. It's pretty bad pickings when you can't find something to spend your money on during a sale! The mini games weren't my style, but at least I could skip most of those. I don't know how long it is as I just played the demo. Maybe someone else will kindly supply that info.
I may get it later or wait for SE.
