What I mean is - I wrote a review to one of the earlier games and said that the thing I wished they would change, was the bright yellow colour on the marked cells. When painting with yellowish crayons, it made the marked cells impossible to see, and I wrote that I wished we could be able to change colour on the marked cells when yellow was too difficult to see. And in this game, they listened!! We now have the option to change the colour of the marked cells as we please while working through the colours of each picture, with a nifty little row of buttons next to the tools. We can choose between four bright marker colours: yellow (like before), green, teal and purple. This makes it SOO much easier to see the marked cells, even for my bad eyes!
Thank you ever so much, developer, for listening to my/our plea, and giving us an option to change these colours! <3 Show less

I love this series. Pixel painting with Artists of Fortune is much different from our other pixel art game. If you like this style of art, you may enjoy this one a lot. Today's new game has festive music and the pictures are not crazy/goofy looking like in the previous editions. They are cute and Christmasy with bright, appropriate colors. The pixels seem to unfold or flip over when the colors are applied, a little visual that I enjoy.
When completed, they are bigger than a postage stamp and in focus, so you get to enjoy your accomplishment. I own the other Artists of Fortune games and will be adding this to the fun collection. The features are delightful and the options are just right, at least for me. There are 3 power-ups. The Rainbow Crayon is universal, painting tiles of any color, which I never feel a need to use. The Filler paints an entire area of all the same color and replenishes as you paint. This feature is a big time saver if you are an impatient artist in the bigger areas. Blockbuster colors a rectangular area and the tiles behind.
I always use my system cursor because it is smaller. Relaxed Mode protects all the tiles from the color you are currently using, so they aren't filled in if accidentally touched. Painting is a little more challenging if not in Relaxed Mode because it's easy to undo colors that have already been placed. Hard to explain, but you'll figure it out. The map is helpful but I rarely refer to it, Zoom is always a must-have for me and moving the pic around is a must. Great features in any color game!
The numbered and lettered crayons are absolutely the greatest idea. No more scrolling back and forth, all the colors are laid out at bottom of the screen and each one disappears when you have completed that color. There are so many colors, bright and beautiful, nothing drab or washed out. Near the map there are 4 little boxes, color choices for the pixel highlighting. I find that the purple works best for me, but I like using them all. The different colors make it easier to see the numbers and draws out the cells you are working on much better, eliminating the frustration that just grey shades would cause.
The counter is very helpful and I also like the bar at top of screen that shows the percentage of the pic that has been painted. You can leave an image and move to another, even if unfinished, the % of completion shows for what is remaining. The pics don't have to be done in sequence but you do have to complete the entire level before advancing to the next. Your work is saved upon exiting. There are rewards to earn for varying degrees of accomplishment.
I really can't find anything wrong with Artists of Fortune. For me it is fun, colorful, a little unique and offers pictures that stand apart from the norm. Today's seasonal theme isn't way out there, however, and the demo was full of Christmas treats to keep me entertained. It may not appeal to everyone, but give it a try. Maybe you'll find a bit of holiday cheer to brighten up your day. Show less

I love that we now have a choice of colors for the highlighted squares and that we can change them as needed within the same puzzle. I was wondering if it was possible to add that feature to the previous games as an update.
I have already replayed Distant Worlds to get a perfect score, but it is hard on the eyes.
Keep up the excellent work, I am looking forward to the next game in this

I found this enjoyable but the pictures are not clear until you finish and then the pixel squares are converted to an illustration. If you "paint" over a completed number with the "wrong" color it reverts to the original number so you have to point and click but there are 3 power ups that let you paint one whole consecutive group of same number, one that lets you just paint any numbers until it runs out, and one that lets you paint a large square of numbers related or not. I bought it. Show less

I fell in love with Artists of Fortune from the get-go, and I still love the features offered but I don't understand why some of the completed images magically morph into a beautiful swan, so to speak, that looks nothing like the actual picture? In other words, after completing the image a small pixellated picture appears for a brief moment as you ponder just what in the heck it's supposed to be. Within a second or two, a new image appears beside the pixellated image without the pixels and the pixellated image suddenly morphs to match what the image is supposed to look like, not the image you just created. To be clear, this isn't the case with every picture, just some of them, most notably the second image of a white blob. It just left me wondering why they chose to include those images if they couldn't replicate the image when pixellating them...especially when the images are practically unrecognizable?
Other than that, I still think this series is fantastic. I love that the colors are shown as individual Crayons (# or letter specific) at the bottom of the board and once you highlight a crayon, all associated cells will appear in an easy-to-spot yellow color. Even better, there is a Map on the top right corner that shows the image and where all those yellow cells are located within the picture so you'll know exactly where the cells are located! I also love how the cells flip over as you are coloring them and that the cursor tip is a fine point to reduce accidental coloring.
The Crayons were so much more authentic versus a table with colored blocks! When you click on a crayon, a tab appears to tell you exactly how many cells are available in that specific color. When all cells are filled in, the associated crayon disappears! There are two difficulty mode options as well, a Relaxed mode, and a more like the real thing mode which doesn't protect the previously colored cells. In this mode, if you accidentally paint a cell that was already colored with a different color, the cell returns to default and the crayon will reappear, requiring you to repaint that cell...how cool is that! (again, if you don't like this feature, choose the relaxed mode!) It may be fun to mix it up a bit from game to game and change the crayons to artists' brushes with different colored tips, or perhaps tubes of paint...maybe even add a bit of texture to the filled-in cells?
Some of the cells will reward you with icons that fill the Power-ups, similar to mosaic puzzles. There is an Autofill Powerup that will automatically fill in the desired group of cells, a Rainbow Crayon Powerup that will paint the cells using any color correctly, and a Blockbuster powerup that blasts a rectangular area with the correct color.
There are 6 Chapters with 20 puzzles available, and 16 Reward Trophies to earn as well. You cannot visit another Chapter until it's unlocked, but you can choose to play any of the 20 puzzles on the current chapter in any order!

I could only tolerate a couple of minutes of this game. The pixels are too small, and while one of the power-ups is really good in solving the puzzle, it doesn't recharge fast enough to keep the boredom at bay. This might be a good game for anyone under the age of 10.
I don't recommend this game.
