I don't like it when coloring games do not provide counters on each color so you know how many you are looking for so for me it wasn't a 5. I didn't find the colors boring like some, although I did think a couple were too monochromatic for my taste. I only did the demo so I was unable to see what the pictures looked like beyond the first page. If coloring is your thing I would give it a try for ...Show more

I am not a fan of this coloring game. As Heaven Bound said, colors are lack luster and pictures are not inspiring. I also like to see all the pictures I will be coloring not just level one before I buy a coloring game. This would be an easy fix so why the developers don't release the hold is beyond me. I own a bunch of the Art Coloring and Art By Numbers and these are the ones that Modern Art ...Show more

I am not a fan of this coloring game. As Heaven Bound said, colors are lack luster and pictures are not inspiring. To start with completing the first set of images to open the next is something I really dislike. There is no trick to try and bypass it. And again the too-dark colors are very unappealing. I found the more colorful images in the demo tedious because of all the teeny-tiny areas to fill in. It created a challenge but not the fun kind.

Picking up a color from the palette often required several clicks and sometimes wouldn't apply to pics on the first attempt. Even though I wanted to see what came after the demo my enthusiasm waned too much trying to get there.

Modern Art doesn't offer enough bright/natural color and depth, imo. Many of the images are very nice on their own but once colors are applied they just aren't pretty anymore. Many art fans may love this kind of art, leaning more toward the shadows/dark results, but for me if the beautiful colors are missing so is the art.

Yes, I know, lots of complaints. I would much rather deliver more positive comments. Maybe the next Modern Art will be more satisfying. Show less

Modern Art Description: The term is usually associated with art in which the traditions of the past have been thrown aside in a spirit of experimentation.

After reading the definition of "Modern Art," I can see that these pictures match most of this definition. Art, past, traditions thrown aside, experimentation... are keywords that actually do describe the pictures in this game! Whod've thunk!?

One of the pictures in the demo section was a scene with some sort of bridge at the top. Even the small sample picture shown on the level section looked weird because the bridge section at the top looked like the color was missing. This was one screwed-up picture because several sections in the image matched whichever background color I chose, but none of those sections had numbers associated with the color chart. To make matters worse, the background color kept randomly changing color, even when I was filling in sections on the left side of the page! At first, I thought my mouse cursor had accidentally swiped over the tab to choose a color somehow, but after it changed randomly 6-7 times, I was confident it was just a glitch! I finished the entire picture, and those sections were never filled in with any color; they remained the same color as whatever background color I chose, which made the image look strange and...well, unfinished!

Why are the colors used in these games always so ugly? Why are the sections to fill in either huge or so tiny you can't find them? Why can't they offer pictures that are more intricate, using several color hues so that the pictures are more appealing without being microscopic? Other painting games pull this off quite well!

Why does the completed image disappear the second you fill in the last section...are they hoping you won't notice how unappealing the finished product is if you can't inspect the completed picture?

Why is the custom cursor the size of a quarter, yet you still have to swipe over an area repeatedly to get the color to fill in? How difficult would it be to offer a couple more cursor options?
