Obviously not everyone's cup of tea, this latest Royal Roads game. "Too slow" is one criticism I see time and time again. I wonder if anyone has discovered the 'Meta Buildings'; they're listed under the cog wheel icon. Here you can speed up the workers and their building time, together with adding time to the level. It takes a few crystals to purchase them all but it's worth checking it every few levels to see which upgrades are available. The workers become much more mobile than they first appear!

This probably isn't the most graphically beautiful game you'll ever come across; it's mostly pretty dull apart from the pink crystal mines. It's kind of old-fashioned looking and won't appeal to people who nowadays want bright colours and fast moving action.

But I like the challenge; it's very easy to take the wrong path or make the wrong decision to upgrade a building, when you might need the resources sooner than you think! It is very slow to start with but patience is a virtue and eventually you can speed things up.

I have all three Royal Roads games; I love them all and replay them often. One person's trash is another person's treasure. Show less

you can update the speed of workers and of building speeds by using stars. so that not a problem but i cant get level 49 to end and go to level 50 even after getting what is asked for. needs fixed. if that was ok i would love game

As I write this, there are no other reviews. This is not a comprehensive review. I find this game to be slow, clunky and irritating. I'll just mention two or three things here. Concerning the resources - you have to click on each one to collect it. It would be so much nicer if you could just pass your cursor over each one to collect it. I don't like a clickfest. Also concerning the resources, sometimes the icon of the resource to be collected is shown above the building, below the building or beside the building. Consequently they are often difficult to see because they are in different places and often they are hidden behind other things (such as an upgrade arrow). What a mess. Too much of the time I had to just sit and wait and watch the workers do their thing - so slow. If I had 2 workers and wanted to upgrade to 3, it took a while to get the resources to get more workers. The workers seem to move slowly enough that your only defense is to have many workers, but that takes time and resources from other needs - like constructing buildings or making repairs or upgrades. There isn't any way in the world that I would pay the price to purchase the CE edition. If I thought about buying it at all, it would be the SE with a coupon that was about to expire because I find this game to be too frustrating. Three stars is a generous rating from me for this game. I liked the 1st installment of this game better. The food etc on this one pops up in different spots and sometimes they end up hidden behind things. The buildings and workers are slow, even with the upgrades (settings - metabuildings) so most of the time towards the end of each level is spent waiting for a building to produce enough goods to finish.

I don't recommend this game.

I generally love this type of TM game. I like to feel I am pretty good at them. However, this game felt like the timing was way off. So much time just watching them run. I quit after 30 minutes. The music didn't help as I found it rather annoying! I really wanted to like it, it just was boring to me!!

I played until bonus level 55 and the game won't finish. I had to complete all 3 stars under the relaxed mode. All but one as the game won't end.

It was just okay. I expected more because it's a collectors edition. I'd buy it if it was $6.99 but not worthy of collection price. Too much down time waiting for things to regenerate. These are the kind of time management games I like but I'll pass on this one.

I don't recommend this game.
