These games , whether you buy the SE or the CE are full of joy
and will not disappoint in my opinion.

If you can afford it then with 48 extra mini games alone the CE is
well worth the extra , but if you feel that that is too much then the
SE will keep you amused too.

I have the CE and am glad I bought it.

I would just like to add a bit of help here as some people I know
from various places had trouble doing some of the tasks. It is
explained at the beginning of the game but is easily missed.

When you have a task to do such as put the angel on the tree
these tasks are in blue. If you hover over the blue this will give
you a clue as to what to do. Some struggled with this so did not
buy the game..
This is a wonderful game and the CE received 38 5 star reviews
. For me this is the best of them all but we are all different so others may
prefer an earlier game.
I enclose my review of the CE as it contains info re the direct x.

Once again Casual Arts bring us a wonderful present that features the wonder of Christmas and although you know what to expect I never get bored with these games and look forward to them every year.
One thing to be aware of with these games when you first download is the prompt to download direct x. If you already have one of these games you do Not need to download it. If you do it will cause problems so close it. It will prompt again but just close it again and it will be fine.
For me that is the only down thing I can find about these games and wish there was a notification that you only need to download this once or made a bit more clearer.
All the Christmas glitz is here and as I am a puzzle freak I just love that every other level is a mini game.
So much has been going on in the world which can cause some stress and these games are the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the joy of Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas. Show less

I love the Christmas Wonderland games and enjoy the CEs for the bonus locations and extra puzzles. Although I would not be unhappy with the SE if my budget doesn't allow the splurge.

They keep me busy for the longest time! Not just because of the oodles of things to do but also because they are quite the challenge and some of the puzzles are not all easy. And believe me, I am not complaining! The challenge increases the fun and there's quick help with the hints if I need it.

All the objects are hidden so well due to the scenes being packed full of Christmas and more Christmas. I really have to look carefully and spend more time in the locations than I do in other HO games. I've found the snowglobe items and those hiding in pockets, etc. to be frustrating, especially since I try to avoid hints. My goal is always that perfect score. And my Christmas wish would be for a super-duper magnifier for help with those too-hard-spot items I sometimes come across.

The game is loaded with features, festivities, games/puzzles, lovely music and fun for the entire family. The graphics are bright and sharp, colors are beautiful, the scenes with people and animals are cheery, no cartoon animal families. Excellent replay value!! But I buy another each year anyway. think it's safe to say I'm addicted!

I had to rewrite this review because the entire thing disappeared when someone else's was posted. Thank goodness I had it all on paper this time. An extra something I really do not appreciate having to do, Big Fish!!! Show less

I like all the games in this series, but number 6 has always been my favourite. Now number 13 is my favourite. The reason is that there is an additional item (Frosty) to look for, and when you buy things, they are now added to a landscape.

first: I always buy the CE, but won't do so in future. I have found that the scenes added in the CE are often not really part of the main story, e.g. the family goes on different excursions. And that's it. And the images aren't really festive either, just boring winter scenes.

second: I would appreciate it if the pieces in the jigsaw puzzles were NOT placed on the image itself. That's really off-putting for me, and I usually skip the jigsaws, because it takes ages to move all the pieces to the sides. Show less

I agree that having the puzzle pieces on the side rather than the middle of the jigsaw puzzle would be a help, but it isn't a deal breaker.

I have every single one of these but I must admit this one is a bit more challenging. As always the graphics are bright and cheery.

I thought there was a glitch in the game also when I couldn't put the angel on top of the tree. All I'll say is its not a glitch...just look around the scene.

I recommend this game!

I have purchased every Christmas Wonderland from #1 thru #13 every year & have enjoyed watching how each year gets better & better.
((I am probably wearing them out as I play them all year round-lol))
.
But I haven't been able to find out if there will be a #14 coming this year yet though & when it will be available.

I have all 13 Christmas Wonderland games and love them all. The music and the festive scenes of Santa and the elves put me in a cheerful mood. Keep them coming and I will continue to purchase them.

I really enjoyed this Wonderland, it was creative and colorful. Best of all the 'pesky little snowman' is back! I hope that feature continues. My other favorite Christmas Wonderland is #3 because of the difficult to find little snowman.

It would be fun if a hard to find critter such as a chipmunk showed up in Park Ranger Vacation Adventures.

Christmas Wonderland marks the start of the holiday season for me every year because It isn't Christmas until Christmas Wonderland arrives! This game is part of my holiday tradition and I look forward to it even more than I do the Christmas HOPAs. There are a lot of new features so Ho Ho Ho, and off we go... Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen...Now dash away, dash away, dash away all, to the computer to play the greatest Christmas HOG of all!

You can play in Casual, or Challenge Mode, BF states in the above synopsis that it has an Extreme Mode, but that option is only available in the CE Version! (which is a Timed Mode requiring you to find all Golden Angels and Santa's Lost Presents, with an Eagle Eye achievement in order to earn all three stars) There are 19 Achievements to earn (20 Achievements in the CE version) The CE version has 16 Christmas Decorations to purchase and decorate your Wonderland House.

Each Hidden Object scene has about 12-14 Listed Items to find, items in Red are hidden in or behind something, and items in Blue require a task such as dragging a carrot to the snowman's nose. There are usually two Zoom Zone Areas in each scene, the zoom zones (indicated by twinkling stars) may come and go, depending on whether or not the items are available on your list yet.

You will earn a Bronze Star if you complete the HO scene, a Silver Star if you complete the HO scene and find all Golden Angels OR all Santa's Lost Gifts, and a Gold Star for completing the HO scene and finding all Golden Angels and Santa's Lost Gifts. When all of the Golden Angels have been found, the doors will close on the Icon on the bottom left by the Inventory Bar. Santa's Lost Gifts are shown as Silhouetted Shapes within the Snowglobe and Santa's Sleigh will appear to indicate all items have been found. There is also a Snowman hidden somewhere in each scene!

Some of the Scenes have a Photo Opportunity Icon located somewhere within the scene. (16 Total in both versions) Once you find the icon, you can click on it to add the photo to your Photo Album which can be viewed by clicking the Camera icon located next to the trophy icon on the bottom left of the screen.

My favorite part of the HO games by this developer is the puzzles that will make you feel like a kid on Christmas morning playing them! After each Hidden Object Scene, you'll solve a mini-game or puzzle such as placing those infamous puzzle pieces into a map of the North Pole, Rotating Square Puzzle Tiles, Jigsaw Puzzles, Word Search, Matching Pairs, or Spot the Difference.

COLLECTOR'S EDITION EXTRAS:
On the CE version, Bonus Levels have been incorporated into the main game scenes and have Gold Rosette Ribbons to identify them. There are 18 Wallpapers, 20 downloadable Music Soundtracks, 48 Replayable Mini-Games and Puzzles, 72 Santa's Lost Gifts, 12 Photo Ops, 19 Achievements, 16 Gifts available to purchase, a Hidden Snowman in each scene, and 3 Golden Angels in each scene. (with the exception of the first tutorial level)
