Just when I was convinced that the HOPA genre was ruined and would never be the same, along comes a new game from Dragonseye to restore my faith! This is a thinking kind of game and very similar to Moontrain as far as the game mechanics, you'll know this game is special right out of the gate. I wasn't expecting much when I read the synopsis but once I started the game and saw the Dragonseye Ltd. logo popped up I immediately exited the game and purchased it. This is an incredible game with a fantastic story, the kind of game where you feel a sense of pride and accomplishment every step of the way...the kind of game they used to make back in the day!

INTERACTIVE ITEMS:
Objects with a + Sign require combining 2 inventory items which is nothing new, however, items with an Eyeball require you to click the eyeball (not the item itself) you may need to select a specific key on a ring, or fiddle with the object to manipulate its shape or function because these items are usually used multiple times with slightly different functions. After setting the item correctly the item can then be used by clicking on the item (not on the eyeball) and then placing it on the item in the scene.

COLLECTIBLES & MORPHING OBJECTS (CE Version)
There are 12 Morphing Objects, 27 Symbols of Luck, and 7 Gnomes to search for, all of which are blended into the scenery with the perfect amount of challenge!

HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES:
If you played Moontrain you know that the Hidden Object Scenes are fantastic. Some are easy, some are difficult just figuring out what you're supposed to do! In the first HO you have to scroll through images until both halves create an image and then search for the item and repeat the process for each item. One of my favorite HOs was finding coins to use in a bubblegum machine one at a time. After inserting a coin you turn the handle and a ball rolls out with an image X3. Once you find all 3 of the objects, you find another coin and repeat the process...super fun!

MINI-GAMES
The mini-games aren't difficult and they are fun enough that you won't feel like skipping them. Games include turning pipes to make 4 connections to the central disk, flipping buckles to find matching pairs, etc. Some of the games require entering codes or patterns previously found in the game scenes so you may have to sift through notes in your journal!

This game is right up there with Moontrain. I loved the CE. The game was very gratifying for me because it allowed me to think, think, think and feel proud that I completed it on my own! The gameplay was different than most other games. Took a little while to figure things out. Once I caught on it was fun all the way. It probably won't appeal to many, but at least try the demo. Well, this one was different! No cookie cutter, overly color saturated, done for you you're just a spectator game here. The graphics may seem ,,, mediocre at first, but once you get into the game itself, the challenges make you pretty much forget that. Try it, you may really like it! OH: the game has minor glitches at times but all that is needed is exit, reopen and glitch is gone. I got stuck at roses and had to exit and was very glad to have it run smoothly through demo from there. Show less

I reviewed the CE of this game earlier and wanted to say that I finally did make it past the lake after figuring out how that the slag aka sled needed to be dragged diagonally. However, when I finally made it to the scene where Dr. Time is throwing daggers at you, I was unable to complete the game because the puzzle is too difficult to complete! I reviewed the CE of this game earlier and wanted to say that I finally did make it past the lake after figuring out how that the slag aka sled needed to be dragged diagonally. However, when I finally made it to the scene where Dr. Time is throwing daggers at you, I was unable to complete the game because the puzzle is too difficult to complete! A player isn't given enough time to finish drawing the designs and only given three hearts of life while the doc has a ton and that's not fair! nor is there an option to skip it like in other games! The language is also poor and I'm not a fan of profanities being used in these games because again there are kids who play them and don't need to be seeing or hearing that stuff! Therefore, I'm giving it 3 stars due to being too difficult finish even with a walk through, poor language and profanity. Show less

I don't mind when a game is the standard, ordinary HOP. I love them and the fun I get finding hidden objects is often all I need. I don't mind when a game is the standard, ordinary HOP. I love them and the fun I get finding hidden objects is often all I need. However, when a HOP is a mystery, when there is something happening which needs to be figured out to make things right again, I need to see some sort of clues, something which is an interesting indication that this problem is serious and terrible things can happen.

I guess what I'm getting at is this game is not immersive, not like HOP's such as Angela Weaver; Catch Me When You Can, or Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles.

Not everyone requires this level of immersion and challenge and if not they should try it and see for themselves.

For me, it's not immersive and, well, it's boring. Show less

I was unable to finish the game. Timed arcade puzzle at the end with no skip. Very disappointing.

I then tried playing as a different player, essentially starting completely over. I got farther that time but couldn't get past the game where the man is throwing knives and you have to trace the outlines of several different designs. There wasn't enough time to do that! So I decided to skip that part but NO SKIP BUTTON! I couldn't get out of it to continue the game. Stuck again! What a waste of money! This game would have gotten 5 stars from me if I could have finished it, I was enjoying it that much. But now it gets 1. Do not buy this game. Way too many glitches. Show less

Absolutely awful, couldn't even get into the first few minutes without flashing and jumping @ unplayable and then wasn't able to exit!!
