does not create an engaging story so you aren't missing much by skipping it. Samurai Solitaire is an ordinary solitaire game. The Japanese artstyle and pastel colors soften the graphics, it is a nice effect, but I didn't care for the fonts and card backs. The music was light but it soon became annoying. Usually the Japanese style is pleasing to me, but it doesn't seem to work for this game. The simple card designs and graphics didn't display much of the traditional beauty.
The first level was the perfect set-up that played all the table cards in numerical order. Didn't like that but it earned a big amount of coins to start you off. Nothing special about the boosters and the obstacle cards were easy to overcome. After the first couple of levels the decks got skinnier and too many cards had to be turned before a playable one came up, so that leaves cards on the table. It is unfair, having to replay the levels when it is for this reason. The shop is expensive and you get nothing special in return.
There are 200 levels, trophies, mini games, not a huge amount of dialogue but it can be skipped. Again the synopsis goes way overboard, boasting tons of game types and difficulty levels. For me the challenge was created by sparse card decks and too many unplayable cards. That is not a good or fun challenge. Other than that, the game was easy.
I hate to end a demo early but 15 levels were enough to see that I would not be happy with this game. It was boring, the replays were tedious, the story didn't matter. Like the first Samurai Solitaire, it's basic, not too bad but not enough there to keep it interesting through 200 levels. I feel it's a good game for those who don't take their solitaire too seriously, and the strategy and challenge take a backseat to the simple fun. Show less
I recommend this game!

I thought the card faces were nice, BUT when you have NO OPTION but to click on LOTS of DECK cards to make a match for ANY board cards, that is not fun. Any Solitiare should allow a competent/creative player to win every round with skill and the ability to buy reasonably priced powerups.

If, as other reviewers say, the deck reduces the number of cards as you play more rounds, the game play would just end up really annoying and not fun. Show less

To be honest, I wasn't crazy about Threads of Fate, so I wasn't expecting this game to knock me off my computer chair, and it didn't. To be honest, I wasn't crazy about Threads of Fate, so I wasn't expecting this game to knock me off my computer chair, and it didn't. Clearly, the developers aren't reading their reviews; otherwise, they would have made changes based on numerous complaints in the first game. There are a few "pros" but certainly more "cons" for my personal taste, and I had no desire to complete the demo, much less purchase the game!

One of the first solitaire games developed by Digimight Games was Snow White Solitaire: Charmed Kingdom. I can remember scrambling to hit the "Buy Now" button because I was so blown away by the creative uniqueness of the Morphing boosters. The morphs would temporarily appear on random cards on the field. If you could play a card with a morph, you would be rewarded with a bonus, such as +Coins, +2-3 Extra Deck Cards, or a Tornado that revealed a few Face Down Cards. The Morphs would only last a few seconds before disappearing, but they would reappear on another card shortly after. I can't understand why they don't offer this unique feature anymore. It was different than anything else offered; without this feature, it's just another solitaire game with the same features every other solitaire game has.
It has the usual Obstacle Cards, such as Lock and Key Cards, cards that Clone and require removing the card twice, cards with numbers that count down from 5, and removes a deck card if the card isn't played in time, or cards with either black or red vines, requiring the same color card to remove the vines. As you progress, Scrolls are added that help you remove cards. etc. You will earn coins that can be used to purchase various bonus cards in the shop, but I didn't find them particularly valuable and certainly not very creative. They do allow you to purchase Jokers for just 500 coins. This may sound really cheap, but you only earn a few coins per level, and in my opinion, they are really stingy with the deck cards (most levels give you less than 20), so you'll find yourself replaying every level.

EXTRAS:
11 Trophies, 5 Cartoonish Wallpapers, 10 extra Mini-games, 5 Card Graphics, and 2 Card Fonts (a large font & a themed font, both are difficult to read), 200 Solitaire Levels (I only saw 40 levels on the map, so hopefully, the other 160 are available when you purchase the game?)

I loved the previous game and have replayed it many times. This is different in several ways. The "straw that broke the camel's back" was not being able to use a flowered card when I uncovered it. Another card would appear and I was unable to use the card I had just uncovered. It was not like that in the previous game. I love a challenge, but one that makes sense. Show less

I had high hope for this solitaire game. However, as the game progressed it got so that many games had to be played multiple times. Points added slowly and no way to bypass the tutorial. Very frustrating. Might be fine for somebody new to solitaire but I've played it for years and know how it works.
Visuals were great and I would have rated it higher but for the frustration level.
I don't recommend this game.
