Love this game. It makes me think. Word games are always great. Just select the first letter, keep your left cursor pressed on the letter and drag your cursor to the next letters to make a word. Enjoying it.

I recommend this game!

I mentioned this in the last review when I did the Christmas Edition if you think too hard it will hurt your brain but I still enjoyed playing it even though both games were hard to play

Square Words is a game that requires you to make themed words from various-sized grids of letters. You can create words horizontally, vertically, and diagonally; in most cases it's a combination of all 3 directions.

Square Words is a game that requires you to make themed words from various-sized grids of letters. You can create words horizontally, vertically, and diagonally; in most cases it's a combination of all 3 directions.

There are four categories, Vacation, Beach, Camping, and Beach. Each category has three Easy 3x3 grids, three Medium 4x4 grids, and three Hard 4x4 grids. (The words do seem to change each time you replay) There is also a Daily Game and a Mixed 6x6 category in a Very Hard mode.

At the bottom of the grid are several blank squares of varying amounts. It's up to you to figure out individual words related to the current category. The tricky part is that some words may have different directional possibilities so even though the word may be correct, it's possible that you chose the wrong directional path because it may leave letters on outer edges that can't be connected.

There are two different Hint types. The first hint fills in the first letter of one word. The second type gives you the correct word, but it's still up to you to figure out the directional path. Additional Hints can be earned by playing the Daily Game or completing Achievement Stamp objectives. You will earn 1 hint per objective, such as completing one Daily Grid game. Word Hints are earned when you complete three objectives. You can also "catch" a hint by clicking on a star that pops down from the top of the main screen (which is also an achievement x5)

I'd love to have a "Freeplay" section where you could search for random words, to try to find as many words as possible or to meet objectives such as finding a 3-letter word, a four-letter word, a five-letter word, a six-letter word, etc.

I can't help feeling empathy for developers lately who count on getting a full day in the limelight when their games are released on BF when BF can't seem to figure out how to post games until after 12 pm!

I like playing wordgames in English because I am an anglophone who lives in a non-anglophonic country and I don't want to lose my mother tongue.

This game fits that purpose and it's nice to see a word game on offer here. I also hope that the developers offer this game in other languages too (I would play it in other languages too).

It's well-made, the art is cute and it's relaxing. I did not like the music or the sounds all that much so those got turned off within one minute of loading up the game. I am ecstatic that it is offered on the Mac!

My only complaint about this is that I would tear through this in no time, and I am no wordgame genius by any means being someone who is more into math and logic problems! I don't mean that the levels are easy. What I mean is that there aren't that many levels and the daily word is time-gated, which is a pity.

I still recommend this because I like that Big Fish offers non-HOGs and non-HOPAs. It adds variety and that is a good thing! Show less

I'm going to tell you why I didn't buy it. It's a lot of fun, challenging, and is a creative word game.
However, the number of levels in this game are not worth the buy. While playing the 60-minute trial, I was able to finish 87% of the game (it shows your progress on the home screen). These puzzles can't be that difficult to create, so a game with multiple levels, along with a free-play "boggle" ...Show more

Oh, I should add that there is a daily game (in which you can earn clues), but again, that's one extra puzzle a day -- still not worth the buy, in my opinion. But, if you do choose to buy, you'll enjoy the game itself! Show less
