I think this was a good game.
You do a lot of searching for items throughout the game more so than others. It did make the game longer it seemed to me so if you don't have the patients this game might not be for you.
There is a lot of scenes in this game and many items in the game has two or more parts to find so you can use those items .

The story line is a little goofy so if you're a little too serious this game may not be for you.
The bonus game was different but easy to follow.

Well done story and sequel about Loch Ness. Good story line, could follow all the actions, and characters.

Well done story and sequel about Loch Ness. Good story line, could follow all the actions, and characters.
Collectibles especially the constellations are very hard to find. With just clicking around I found some, even the SG (strategy guide) didn't help; there was one scene in the SG that was missing (! which was why it only got 4 stars on fun factor), but I found the constellation just by clicking every square inch of the scene!
Especially interesting for youngsters learning about the planet and those new to HO games, it was nonetheless very entertaining and a good solid game. Show less

I enjoy playing games from this developer. I enjoyed playing the first game it makes a change to play a game based on Scotland

I played the whole game, at the "casual" setting. I have no idea how many hours it took, as I played over several weeks, but it seemed like a long time. I was ready for the game to be done at what turned out to be about two-thirds of the way through. I don't regret playing all the way to the end, but it wasn't especially satisfying to keep going and reach the conclusion.

As other reviewers have noted, there are Scottish elements but the characters and overall feel are not Scottish. The sense of being in Scotland is most promising early on, but turns more toward a Scooby Doo aesthetic as the story progresses.

As others have said, the game largely forces you to use the hint button frequently, and to click randomly over some of the "find the object" games. Otherwise you spend a lot of time hunting for an image that even when you find it can barely be discerned. With lots of hints to move things along and shots in the dark for hidden objects, you lose some sense of accomplishment.

I did feel that there was a lack of logic to the activity, such that when you did at last obtain a necessary tool there wasn't much sense to what you had to do to get it. And then what you had to do with it. You can't reason your way through the game, and overthinking can be a pitfall, holding you back from a simple solution that mostly requires going back five locations and placing something into a something to have it assemble itself into a functioning device. Then you go forward to where you were, use the device or object to solve a problem, and then the device or object that you finally obtained disappears from the game.

Sometimes you can play a game a second time and enjoy it even more. You may remember some of what you didn't know the first time around and yet still need to figure out what you don't recall. That can be fun. I think with this one playing it a second time wouldn't be much different than the first time. You would know, though, that a tool or object you need to accomplish a task might not be coming your way for a long, long time. You won't waste effort trying everything to get something to open a zipper, lock, etc., when there's not a chance of doing so until much later in the game.

There's a variety of HOP styles and I did not like any of them. I had to use hint too often because I just couldn't see the HOs. They were too small or unrecognizable or not visible or graphics not clear enough. So frustrating, no fun at all. Determining where to use an item was difficult too because of this. Finding runes on a Nessie sculpture was near impossible, requiring too many hints. On a positive note, all the puzzles were fun, loved each of them!

Was unable to spot any collectibles, accidently hit on 2 tickets so to save time and frustration I quit looking. The demo didn't advance quickly enough to experience any of the adventure except I met a 2nd character and had a Nessie sighting. Characters and voices were very good but scenes were so-so indoors and out.

I quit the demo when it returned to the Nessie sculpture for another HOP because it was so ridiculously hard to find anything at all on it. Again too many hints needed. But there were only 10 minutes left, so didn't miss much.

Again, it's another Domini game that I felt wasn't all that, even with Nessie being the star of the show. If she plays a big part in the adventure, not just a few sightings or camera shots, the game would be lots of fun. Also for me the HOPs would have to be much better. I'm still afraid to purchase a Domini game based on past experience within the last few years, but I still check out the demos. They might surprise me with something wonderful. Show less

I found this game tedious and difficult to play. It's like a non-stop search without ever finding anything of use. Nothing caught my interest at all. I kept going thinking something would click and make it good but no. Buying this was a mistake.

I don't recommend this game.

But the story is really dumb. You get the impression they were trying to please both the "Nessie is real" and "Nessie is a myth" schools of thought, which would have been fine if they'd done a better job of it. The voice actors are either just bad or so aware of the ridiculous lines they're reading that it comes out in their voices.

As a final turn-off, the special hidden objects in each scene are nearly impossible to see, and the game guide doesn't have all the scenes. Feh!

I'm about two-thirds of the way through the game and don't know if I can hang in there long enough to finish it. Really not worth the aggravation and frustration it's causing. Show less
