To break the evil curse, 4 sacred Aztec Skulls must be located, to cast a protective spell, and Master Miguel Sanchez has been chosen for this vital mission.
4 Aztec Skulls, picks up where the Adelantado Trilogy left off. If you compare apples to apples, this game doesn't hold a candle to the other three games, because this is a Time Management game and the three games of the Trilogy are Strategy based games. In Books 1-3 of Adelantado, you had to choose which buildings to build, and where to build them, based on Strategy. Because this game doesn't require a whole lot of Strategy, it may seem a bit disappointing to the diehard fans of Adelantado, but as a Time Management based game, 4 Aztec Skulls rocks!
You can choose from four different difficulty modes, Relaxed, Easy, Normal and Hard, and you can earn Gold, Silver or Bronze awards for each level. The goal is to complete the levels before nightfall to earn expert status. Just like most TM games, you will clear blocked paths, gather food, cut trees for lumber, repair bridges and damaged buildings, and gather various resources needed to complete the level goals.
Extra Workers can be obtained when you upgrade the workers camp and temporary workers can be found at the local Tavern (not sure how well they do at that point lol) You can build Sawmills to produce more lumber, Gardens provide food for the workers, and mining Silver will pay the workers. (gold hidden inside jugs are for the treasury) When you construct a Storehouse, it will increase your income and constantly increase obtained resources. Messages are occasionally sent to you via Pigeon express, from the Abbot that will allow you to upgrade some of your buildings, but the pigeon is rather small and easy to overlook at times.
Bonuses must be found, and cannot be used until the path is clear. In the demo, the only bonus given, is a pair of Speedy Boots, that speed up the pace of the workers once you collect them. Each level has a Hidden Treasure to discover, but the only indication I have noticed is that a question mark appears. Once you find the hidden cache, you must send a worker to dig it up, and let me tell ya, some of them are nearly impossible to find!
As far as Time Management games go, I found this to be one of the most entertaining with lots of different tasks and resources available in each level. I loved the fact that the more time it takes you to complete a level, the darker it becomes as nightfall approaches. No, it's not as epic as the Adelantado Trilogy Strategy based games, but it is pretty good, enjoy! Show less
I recommend this game!

If you are expecting this to be part of the Adelantado trilogy you'll be disappointed. This is Roads to Rome with all the features of a Roads to Rome game. The characters and some of the graphics are from the Adelantado trilogy but the game play is not.
I enjoyed it because I liked Roads to Rome.
I recommend this game!

"WOW !! A fourth Adelantado game in the series?! Seriously?! I should try it out."
So I did try the demo first, and boy was I surprised to see it from the developer that made the other games in this series as well as the Roads of Rome series (which I both LOVE them all !) !!
As my title states, I give this developer a big 5 stars as an awesome game all the way around from this developer !! I like everything that is in it: the music and sound, the fun factor, the challenges and even the storyline--all awesome !!
The only thing I didn't like about this game is that you couldn't click ahead based on the number of workers at your camp. But oh well, I'll get used to that.
Nicely done developers !! If you like this game and this series (or others like it from this developer, of that matter or whichever case), I definitely give it a try to make sure it runs on your PC, then buy it as it's a "must-have" (as I have just bought this game with my free game coupon !). But of course, this is just my opinion, so feel free to try it everyone and see it for yourself ! Enjoy !! Show less

There are still the familiar tasks of finding "where" the resource is..but the levels are short and sweet, and there is no "wandering" around. The only thing I really didn't like was not being able to click ahead, but this was due to not having many workers unlike the trilogy games. This plays along the lines of Roads of Rome, Fables of the Kngdom etc but with the ambience of the trilogy games. Overall it is a fun game, but unfortunately I cannot review it from the point of view of someone who has not played the other series. Worth buying though for sure, but a little hard to get used to in this setting. Show less

But am a little perplexed and not in a bad way either !!! When I first started playing, I thot it was associated with the Adelantado series (due to the music) and soon found out it has nothing to do with that series...the game-play is entirely different...don't get me wrong I soooo enjoyed this one too. What confused me was the music and part of the game-play!!! I saw Roads of Rome and the Adelantado trilogy combined.
This is an easy to play game...you have to apply a certain amount of strategy on some of the levels but at least you'll have some fun doing that.
Anyways....download and you won't be disappointed with this one from a great developer....it seems most of their games are an instant hit !!!
Ohhh...I almost forgot ...I definitely recommend this game !!! Show less

This game is so much fun. Reminiscent of old-school time management games with far better graphics. It is exactly like Roads of Rome where you will need to build, stock up, and use different strategies to beat each level. It also has modes from beginner (no timer) to experienced to difficult. Well worth the investment. I definitely recommend. Thank you BFG.

To me this is the best of Adelantado and Roads of Rome in one. Am enjoying it immensely. If you like builder type Time Management you will love this. Yes I do wish there was click ahead, but I suppose it was too much of a change to program into their model.
