Curses! The evil witch has cursed everyone who attended the Royal Wedding of Prince Edward and Rose! (it's a good thing I was late!) This is no ordinary curse, that witchy woman turned everyone into something else, it's a good thing the best man is now a fox, how else would I have strung the Christmas lights on that gigantic tree? (hey, don't laugh, the wedding may be off, but Christmas must go on!) Poor Rose is, well, she's still a Rose, but now she's a Rose with thorns, and roses don't last long. Their only hope for normalcy, is to repair the clock that cursed them, when the clock strikes Midnight, the curse will end. Unfortunately this clock isn't striking anything, because it's missing vital parts, 2 ornamental pieces, 2 gears and 2 screws, which is the equivalence of finding a needle in a haystack, compared to the size of the Royal Palace. Everyone has a stake in this cursed game, so you'll be assisted by some pretty unusual wedding guests, on this magical Christmas adventure!

Christmas just isn't Christmas until Christmas Stories releases their annual magical game. There are 3 Christmas themed games that I so look forward to each and every year. This game has beautiful Christmas themed music, gorgeous graphics, and a whimsical story adaptation of the classic tale, A Little Prince, what could be better? You're not going to experience any logic in this silly game, after all, how logical is a curse that has turned people into pianos, foxes and mice? None of that matters, what matters is the entertainment factor, and I hope you like solving puzzles, because there's enough Mini Games and Puzzles to stretch out two different games in this Christmas themed game! This Collector's Edition is worthy of it's namesake, because there are so many collectibles. Each Scene has a Morphing Snowman, and at least one hidden Jigsaw Puzzle Piece, and some scenes contain collectible Wedding Guest Figures. The only disappointment I have with this 6th game in the series, is that there aren't many objects you can interact with, other games in this series, have had presents you could open or various decorations you could fiddle with for absolutely no reason other than entertainment. I should at least be able to shake a snow globe or throw a snowball! (come on Elephant, be creative!)

The Hidden Object Scenes are just you're average HOP's, nothing really creative, but then again, it's pretty hard to change this feature, it is what it is, even I don't have any fresh ideas for a more interesting HOP. There are only four HOP's offered in the demo (the mini games make up for that) and so far there aren't any alternative games offered. There are Interactive Listed items, Silhouetted Shape finds with minimal interactions, Finding 6 Pairs of Objects hidden under piles of styrofoam balls, and an Interactive List find HOP that leave gems behind each item to repair the main object.

The Mini Games are between the easy and medium range of difficulty, and are in abundance, and that's awesome! Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Restore the day and night cycles on the stone by swapping discs. Click the green button to check your solution.

2) Swap tile sections to align the musical notes correctly.

3) Swap square tiles to complete the image, select tiles that are turned over to complete each section.

4) Enter the code using the clue, by dragging the dial either left or right as indicated.

5) Guide each train to their matching colored stations by selecting levers to create paths.

6) Remove all but one set of berries by jumping over another set of berries, berries can only jump onto blue tiles. Repeat on the next board.

7) Cover the gold center by selecting petals to move the silver disc in that direction. The larger the flower petal, the further the disc will move.

8) Guide each beam of colored light in a continuous line to the center by rotating hexagon sections.

9) Follow the instructions to create a potion, by selecting and placing items in the scene correctly.

I loved the graphic and traditional music the most because it has allowed me to get into a Christmas mood, which was a little lacking at the moment, but not now.

If you want something to play with your kids or grandkids that is nice and gentle. no darkness, horror of horrors type of thing, this is a good game for you. No time limits on the mode I played and I just enjoyed the gentleness of it.

It is Christmas Eve and you are invited to the wedding of Prince Edward and his beloved Rose. When you arrive at the castle everything seems to be very quiet for a wedding celebration with the only noise being a barking Schnauzer who has cornered a fox. Being a kind-hearted soul, you rescue the fox that really isn’t a fox at all but is in fact the best man whose name is Joe. Joe thanks you for your help and tells you that the Prince and his bride, as well as all of the guests, were cursed by a wicked witch and turned into either animals or objects. Joe also says that with your help if the clock in the grand hall can be restarted before midnight everyone will be turned back into their original form and there will be a happily ever after for Edward and Rose.

As is the case with all of the Christmas Stories games this one has beautiful Christmas themed graphics. I love the big Christmas tree in the hall and that scene reminds me of the first Christmas Stories: The Nutcracker. I know that some may groan to find out that you have a rescue pet helper but hey, it’s Christmas so just chill out and enjoy. Maybe you will stick around long enough to see Joe become human again and take up his role as Best Man.

I always enjoy the HOP scenes from Elephant Games because the original list type is my favorite. Although the first scene in most of this developer’s game is generally the list type, they have branched out and we can expect a mix of styles in the HOPS. One of the things I appreciate most that the items are nice and clear and not overly difficult to find. Some might think it makes them too easy but I think it makes the games more fun rather than making me feel crazy when I struggle to find an item.

The mini-games are sometimes difficult and the first one where we need to place the cycles of the moon in the appropriate sequence is one that always causes me trouble. I have never been able to easily solve those puzzles and have to either resort to cheating by looking in the SG or simply skip the puzzle entirely – lol.

The CE has all of the goodies I love in a CE and this one seems fairly well loaded with bunches of morphing objects. The collectibles are nothing spectacular – only puzzle pieces but we do get to build 4 puzzles in the bonus section. The other standard fluff is found such as Wallpapers, Concept Artwork, replay of Mini-Games (I’ll definitely look forward to playing the moon cycle one again) and HOPS, Music, Bonus Chapter, Strategy Guide, and a Secret Room.

Christmas Stories: A Little Prince is a terrific family game that is wonderful to share with the little ones as you go through the holiday season. I think that although they can’t play HOPA games on their own even young children will love to watch mom, dad, grandma and grandpa play this beautiful game. Each year, I eagerly wait for the Christmas Stories game from Elephant Games to be released and it is always an automatic purchase for me. Even though I was surprised that there is a wicked witch in a Christmas game, I have no doubt that it will all come together in the end. In spite of being thrown off by the witch, I still think this is an excellent game. As always, I recommend that you try the demo to see if this will be a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming! Show less

I absolutely love these games. They are the perfect holiday games you can sit down with the little ones to enjoy some holiday time together. Even the kids look forward to seeing "What new Christmas Story will show up this year".

These games (and this year is no exception) are easy enough that my 5 and even 4 year old can figure quite a few things out on their own (sometimes needing a bit of nudging to come to the right conclusion), yet there are still hard enough challenges to keep the game interesting enough for the adults to enjoy playing on their own. It's fun to play with the kids (I have profiles for kids ranging from 4-12) and see their eyes light up when you get a new item and immediately think "Hey, we can use that to ....". I try to play each game before playing with the kids, and it's interesting and challenging enough that even I need to use the Hint once or twice.

There are morphing object (a morphing snowman to find on each page, and a morphing cursed wedding guest on about 14 pages. We all enjoy that part to see who can find the morphing object(s) first.

As usual with the collectors edition, as well, there are puzzle pieces to find and complete the jigsaws. Which adds a bit of an extra bonus if you don't delete the game when all have completed it in their different profiles, yet they haven't gone through the extras.

If needed, there are play modes where one can skip the puzzles, if too challenging. Show less

I've been waiting on a Christmas game. So glad to see this one. The graphics are beautiful. It's not the hardest game you'll every play but its pretty and relaxing and sweet! Sometimes you just want sweet!
