Loved this game. It really is a who-dunnit via solitaire.
You play 3 characters, each handling aspects of the case. You have choice of playing one up-one down, match 2 , or make sum of 14--choices are listed on the right and can be changed for any level at any time. You play 3 characters, each handling aspects of the case. After 8-10 levels, you read dialogue about the case or are shown evidence encountered in the case. Upon completion of all levels, you choose who you think murdered the bride. Even if you choose wrong, the case is laid out and explained as to who the murderer is.
The artwork is static, but really well done and nice to look at. In between levels there are HOPs (clutter style, with objects in silhouettes or colored objects, no word lists) or find matching card pairs while faced down (they call it a memory game).
The game provides tons of wild cards on each level. But there is no shop to purchase wild cards or usual power ups, except for buying an undo. There are only 2 choices for face cards, not a big deal to me, but if this is important to you--now you know.
The object of each level is to obtain GOLD cards (no face value), but certain number of gold cards are needed to get evidence or analysis of facts. Cards tied up in yellow tape are broken by clicking on warrant with badge (get it?).
One up-one down allows most control for clearing all cards on table. The other 2 versions of solitaire has increased chance of folding before all cards are cleared because cards dealt can be lousy. Every level also has cards that either bring you luck (an informant giving info) or bad luck (police car banged up).
The only thing I did NOT LIKE about the game is there is no opportunity to replay a level to get a perfect score (remove all cards on table). It doesn't really affect your progress, but it is different from most solitaire games.
The storyline is excellent and pretty clever. Loved the extra aspect of a who dunnit with HOP and match card games in between, which adds an extra dimension to otherwise vanilla solitaire game. Would love to see another who dunnit solitaire in the future, with improvements as noted. Show less
I recommend this game!

When you play the matching or add up to 14 type you do have to click on the draw card to ensure the right combination. For the one up, one down you do not.
After collecting enough of the right type of cards you must analyze you findings - so far I've seen a jumbled up HOP scene and a HOP where the magnifier shows you what you can't see...
I had a free game code that needed to be used, and this filled my punch card up for another free game. It will provide mindless entertainment when I need it. As always, give it a try - and do try more than just one type of solitaire. You don't have to finish an entire set of cards to be able to move to another type. Show less

For those of you who like sleuthing while playing solitaire-- this is just the game for you! Twisting plot, different card game modes and gradual progression towards solving a case involving a murdered bride. I also recommend the first game in this series, called "Double Clue: Solitaire Stories." Give it a try, you'll soon know why! :)

When I saw the game today, it looked fun because of the mystery part. I started to play and there were 3 different kinds of solitaire. There only needs to be one. I only played for a little while. When I tried to get out of the game, there was no way to escape.
If you like a mystery and like to play solitaire, then I would recommend this game

I too was actually super excited when I saw a Murder Mystery Who-dun-it Solitaire game, how awesome is that I say to myself! Honestly, this game only has two cons, but those two cons are biggies for me personally. The levels themselves are quite short and filled with a ton of Gold Cards that that only require a single to click to remover them (versus an actual card value) but there's no option to replay a failed level, and everything moves at a sloth's pace. If the devs could tweak these two issues, this would be a 10-star game, and I'm "dead serious" about it. I know how hard most devs work to bring us new games, and I really hate to be negative, but I hope the devs actually read our reviews to get honest feedback!??
The Murder Mystery theme is excellent, and it is an actual storyline that progresses by playing Solitaire to Investigate the scene and witnesses followed by a Hidden Object Scene or Mini-games to draw a conclusion, which is a fantastic concept. You can choose a Themed Card Deck or a Simple Font Card Theme, and then you get to choose the type of Solitaire Game you prefer OR you can choose a mix of all 3.
There are 3 investigators shown and under their profile picture are several icon boxes to Investigate each scene or solitaire level. Because I chose the mixed solitaire feature, each investigator was a different type of Solitaire:
*Match 2 Cards Solitaire-click on matching pairs of Cards to remove them.
*High/Low Solitaire: click on cards that are either 1 card higher or 1 card lower to remove.
*Sum of 14 Solitaire: click on 2 cards whose sum equals 14 to remove them.
The goal on all the Solitaire levels is to remove all of the Gold "evidence" Cards, but those gold cards have no face value, you simply have to click them to remove them. If you fail a level, you are told to try harder, but there's no option to replay that particular level, it just moves along to the next scene.
Combos begin when 4 consecutive cards are removed which will increase the Multiplier index, and card specific Wildcards that are uncovered during the game can be saved for use later by clicking on the card. Every Solitaire level has at least one Luck Card, either Good or Bad, and this feature alone drove me bonkers, this is a feature they need to ditch altogether. If you get a Good Luck Card it pays out coins from an informant who gives you viable information, Bad Luck Cards take away coins when your police car has a fender bender. This feature takes way too long, it halts the gameplay while you are forced to watch the informant whisper secrets or listen to screeching tires and the sound of a car crashing, it takes way too long, and it's a stupid feature that has no option to pass up, it would be better if you could just click on the card a second time to end the theatrics and get it over with instantly.
There are 4 Power-up Boosters available on the bottom left, and once used, will take a while to recharge before it can be used again. The Power-ups can Remove any Gold Card, Remove any Closed Card, Remove any Open Card or Add 2 Random Wildcards. As you progress, Locked Cards are added that require finding the Key Card before they can be removed.
After completing a round of Solitaire games or Investigations, you will draw a conclusion by playing a Hidden Object Scenes using a special lens to reveal items hidden within the scene, or a mini-game such as a Memory game where you find matching pairs of items by flipping two cards over at a time.
In a nutshell, if the Solitaire Levels were longer and the Gold Cards had actual face values that needed to be removed by including them for whatever face value rather than just clicking them, it would make the levels more challenging. They need to do away with the Luck Cards or hasten up the process, and they need to speed up the mechanics to allow a more fluid movement because there's a slight pause after clicking on each card. There should also be a way to replay levels you failed or didn't earn all 3 stars on. These seem like minor fixes, and if they find a way to tweak this game a bit, it would definitely be a super Solitaire Game! Show less

The concept of a murder mystery with solitaire is an interesting idea, but the game play is super, super slow, which makes it very dull and boring. I don't recommend this game.

I don't really need a story for my solitaire, the game play is enough. But, this story sounded interesting, a murder mystery (poor groom, losing his new bride during the reception, although, didn't he notice she wasn't there during the two hours she was dead?), plus three solitaire choices.

One-up-one-down, chain, or matching pairs.
BUT... the game is soooo slow! When you make a match you don't just click the card on the "table," you have to click the card in the pile too! That's just not acceptable, nor is it how any of the other solitaire games do it. The player should not have to click twice to make a match.
There are special cards, wild cards to save for later, mystery cards (that was a fun extra) that may be something good or, a broken down police car!
I didn't get far enough into the demo to try the HOS. Even if I had the patience for the slow game play, I couldn't have. The game froze up on me in the middle of a hand.
Great story idea, but the game mechanics are too poor to play. I'm always looking for a new solitaire. Show less
