I just finished the demo and loved it. I don't care about collections or morphing stuff. That's why I'm not buying any CE's now. I just like a good game and this is one. The graphics are bright, beautiful and colorful. Nothing dark and gloomy in this one.
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed this game. I like the ability to custom my hints, etc. So far, I have liked all the Eipix games. I really have not found any that I disliked. I will choose Eipix games above others.

I've determined my end rating to this game is a 3.5*.
The main portion of the game took me 3 hours to complete.
I loved the demo to this game. I loved the beautiful blue green water, each scene prettier than the next, the calming music and the game play.
But my overall opinion of this game, in a seashell, is if you don’t like the demo you probably won’t like this game as a whole. I felt the demo was the best chapter in this game. I especially liked the first few scenes. Chapter 3 has a beautiful waterfall and lagoon area. Aside from the scene at the beginning with the cool sharks this lagoon area was my 2nd favorite spot of the game.
*******Slight spoiler~ I describe a HOS in Chapter 3*********
In this same location of chapter 3, you get to swim in the lagoon in one of the best HOS in the game. Fish swim past you and you move through plants. It was so fun, and you feel like you are actually in the water! It is a brilliantly clever HOS and I adored it.
********end potential spoiler*******
I think my favorite thing about the game as a whole, is playing in the bright sunlight with consistently natural & just gorgeous colors. There is NOT any that weird nighttime teal, purple, garish hot pink or royal blue, we see so much of in these games lately that I've really grown to dislike. Even the indoor areas have a bit of outside to make them pretty.
I liked the geographical location we played in too. We seldom see realistic, Caribbean/Tahiti-like, places like this much in casual gaming so that was so appreciated. My least favorite and the darkest chapter in the game is #4, as you play in some cave-like areas. Each of those have some pretty elements to see too though. This Dev. has great special effects.
My favorite task in this game was feeding an awesome chicken in the demo! He was so cool I wanted to scoop him up and take him with me the rest of the game. I loved how he came up so close to the screen with so much attitude.
I also loved the HOS in the demo where you feed some baby birds but why on earth did they make my character bend a tree back like a sling shot and just leave the tree the nest was in in the “sling off” position? Especially when the lava man was coming! Arrg.
I didn’t mind the gadget seashell; which is a match game. It’s only used a total of about once a chapter. It is not used in the CE bonus play.
They didn’t need to add the ridiculous Lava man or fantasy earth, wind, fire, and water characters either, to this realistic setting. I just feel it would have been better without them.
Thankfully, these characters are only seen when you use the shell so you don’t see them much more in the game compared to the demo.
I wondered if the game takes place in the 1700's to save production time. The notes and articles all look exactly the same on brown parchment. They were so bland. I always notice these details that make a game better and to me, obvious things, that would take a game longer to make --such as reactive items in a scene and/or a good diary/journal holding story notes and cut scenes.
Generally, I prefer HOS to MG but I liked a couple of the game related type in the demo like the one where you navigate a hot air balloon and one you set up and "ride on" a zip line.
I actually bought the CE to this game on sale and outlined the bonus content and what unlocks under the CE title in case you want to compare details of the longer version.
This Myths was a beautiful and relaxing game. A similar game to this, in beauty and relaxation -reminds me of this game in that way. I'll add a link to try the demo to is:
Mythic Wonders: Child of Prophecy
I liked chapters 1~ 3 the most, in this episode of Myths of the World, but by the last chapter it fizzled out for me. Show less

Grab your hot air balloon and travel to Polynesia for this 15th game in the Myths series. As a gift from your parents for completing your studies, you are off on the adventure of a lifetime visiting the Polynesian islands. As your balloon unexpectedly crashes you find yourself in shark infested waters and only help from a young girl on an island guides you to safety.
In an effort to make the game more attractive to younger gamers, history has been thrown out the window and we are left with the EIPIX vision of how to make it work for a game. Granted in order to keep it user friendly the island population is not running mostly unclothed, and the princess or other young maidens are not being thrown into the fiery volcano to quell the rising beast. Unless the date of 1790 at the beginning of the game is wrong, I doubt that a box of matches would be traveling with our young adventurer. In spite of the anachronisms I still found the game to be an improvement over some others in the series but Of Fiends and Fairies and The Heart of Desolation are still my favorites.
The HOPS are the basic style we see in all HOPA games and you either love or hate them. As for me I did find them enjoyable even though there was nothing new or exciting. I am a HO lover and it never seems to get old even though I own 1,300 games. In Fire from the Deep, I happen to enjoy the beautiful graphics and finding the items even though some might not be too-hidden. The beauty of the colorful graphics (rather than hunting through dark and dingy scenes) is what makes the HOPS much more enjoyable for me. Congrats to EIPIX for stepping up and making some HOS that many of us will love! The PUZZLES or mini-games seem to be an improvement as well with some of them being a bit more difficult for me.

As I mentioned Of Fiends and Fairies and the Heart of Desolation are my two favorite games in the Myths series but Fire from the Deep is much better than some of the more recent offerings from this developer. Although this game has nothing to do with the true history or Myths concerning the Polynesian culture it is still a fun and entertaining game to play. If you can put aside your need for accuracy in a game and enjoy it for the entertainment value, then this is a game you will hopefully enjoy as much as I did. As always, please try the demo to see if this game is a keeper for you. Happy gaming!

To no one’s surprise, this latest installment in the overstayed Myths of the World franchise is another cookie-cutter offering IMHO. Even worse, the storyline this time around is not even remotely interesting, if fact you may find it boring. Myths of the World: Fire from the Deep bypasses historical context that has made some of the previous installments so thrilling and focuses on the derivative plot with one-dimensional uninteresting characters.
It also certainly does not help that the locations and sceneries featured in Myths of the World: Fire from the Deep are unfortunately uninspired. While the quality of the visuals is solid, the familiar-looking scene designs as well as the slightly muted color palate do not work in the favor of this already-dull adventure. On a positive note, the background music beautifully matches the exotic theme of the game and never veers in the zone of being distracting.
The most disappointing factor for me was that Myths of the World: Fire from the Deep seemed to be designed for elementary school kids, considering how easy the game is. Veteran HOPA players will have no problem racing through the game with minimal reliance on the Hint feature (if at all). Moreover, the magical Shell feature that allows you to talk to the elements feels unnecessary and out-of-place. As for the puzzles, they are the same-old types we have seen a hundred times before. The hidden object scenes are relatively more entertaining, due to their higher level of challenge and complexity. For me, this edition just didn't meet my expectations and although it may be a mediocre installment, it's at least worthy of a free game coupon. Cheers!

Myths endure the passage of time, but Myths of the World hasn't. I say we all take a vote and sacrifice this game to the lava baby, which should solve everyone's problems. The lava baby will certainly be content knowing he's provided a great service, the princess doesn't have to blow off the king of thieves anymore, and the king of thieves will have nothing to steal. This will buy everyone some time to use the magic shell to actually do something productive, like finding that poor lava baby someone to LAVA!
Yes, we are still on a Gadget streak! This time it's a Shell that allows us to talk to the elements, because old man Wind is full of hot air and has a lot on his mind, so I can't wait to hear what Silent Waters has to say! Once again, we get treated to finding those famous not-so Hidden Signs and some of the scenes have some obvious Morphing Objects to click on in the CE version. (notice I didn't say search for, because they aren't very discreet either) To sum this game up, it's boring, the graphics are beautiful at times, other scenes have blurry graphics and lack detail and the scenes have very few interactions or areas of interest. The Polynesians are super Americanized with perfect English, which is pretty amazing considering this game takes place in the late 1700's, don't ya think?
The Hidden Object Scenes are slightly more interesting than the Mini-Games but only because some of the items were well hidden. They are typical Eipix HOP's with mostly Sketched Picture finds, but there are also Interactive List finds, Keywords in Sentence finds and Multiple Item finds. There are several smaller zoom zone HOS, and you can opt for an extremely easy Match 3 variation called Skipping Stones.
The Mini-Games are rather uninteresting and consist of the typical Eipix style puzzles. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Select arrows to reassemble the map.
2-Pull the 2 rings to guide the hot air balloon to avoid strong winds.
3-Use sliders to focus and align the rings around the shapes.
4-Select each target when the center turns green.
5-Select arrows to rotate the constellations to align with stars on a map.
6-Swap sea creatures to the correct water depth.
7-Select directional arrows to avoid obstacles.
8-Select pearls to reveal matching symbols.
The Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 6 Concept Art pictures, 7 Music Soundtracks, 8 Movie Video Cutscenes, 17 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 21 re-playable Mini-Games, re-playable Skipping Stones Games (Match 3) a Souvenir Room with 15 Souvenir's to search for, 13 Achievements to earn, 30 Hidden Signs, 20 Morphing Objects, 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide.

Being an actual Polynesian, this game was insulting. Huahi-neigh? Really?
Tahitians who don't look, speak or act like Tahitians...art from different Pacific islands lumped altogether like we're all the same, and dressing them like they're going to some gaudy costume party!
After listening to the Julius Caesar or Pythagorus or whoever the "wind" was, I gave up. And uninstalled.
