I loved this game! But I'm a puzzle lover, and this game has tons of them. Many puzzles are completely new and some are quite challenging, which is what I'm looking for. The graphics and voiceovers are some of the best. I honestly don't understand the bad reviews. What's not to like? If you want lots of puzzles, this is your game. It's a long one, too.
I recommend this game!

I have played a LOT of games and lately have been bored with the repetitiveness of most of new releases but this game was in my mind truly OUTSTANDING in so many ways. Inventive and humorous. I loved this game!

This werewolf game was fun! The story line was sorta typical, but I really enjoyed the tasks. You have to back a van into a parallel parking space. (Which for me was a MAJOR ordeal, but it was fun and I loved practicing)! Some paranormal games get so nonsensical that I literally lose the story line and I stop playing. I did enjoy this one!
I recommend this game!

Phileas Fogg has been acting rather odd lately (could also use a good shave) Young Hawkes who will probably never be called Old Hawkes, has his hands full with this investigation, full of claws and fur like a beast that is! The streets of London may never be safe again if the protectors known as the Vermillion Watch are the ones the city need protecting from. The streets are definitely Howling tonight, and hopefully, the beast inside Hawkes and Fogg don't take up permanent residents or there may never be a Vermillion Watch 6!
Spine-tingling is not the description I'd use to describe this game, but it's really not a bad game, it's just an easy game. I purchased this game in the CE version, and it captured my attention as far as the plot goes, which doesn't happen that often nowadays, and usually not from this dev! If you enjoyed other Vermillion Watch games, then there's no reason you won't enjoy this game unless werewolves just aren't your thing. Personally, I love a good Vampire storyline and Werewolves ain't so bad either, well, they are bad, but it's a great topic!
The Hidden Object Scenes are good but quite easy. I did like the scene locations which were colorful, and you can tell the devs worked to create HOP's that were different, but at the expense of being challenging, does that make sense? There are Interactive List finds, Keywords in Sentence finds, Multiple Object finds and even a "Spot the Difference" between a photo and the actual scene which definitely could have been a little more challenging. In the Collector's Edition version each HOS has a Morphing Object, and if you forget to look (like I usually do) you can replay the scene in the extra's section to not only pick up the missed Morph but earn Gold, Silver or Bronze Trophies. After completing the game (including Bonus Chapter) you can enter the CE Souvenir Room to search for 12 different Wolf puppies as Souvenirs (the awe factor lol)
Hope you like mini-games because they're back to back throughout the game. Personally, I didn't find them all that bad although I found them to be quite easily solved on the first attempt. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Drag the slider to locate paw prints. (turns green)
2-Slide magnifier to focus each of those paw prints.
3-Drag, align & scale paw print on the correct match.
4-Drag fist through a maze to the face, collecting all orbs first.
5-Use directional arrows to cross the road & avoid obstacles.
6-Use directional arrows to jump on floating debris w/ sinking.
7-Use torch when wolves' ears are down whistle when up.
8-Select buttons in the correct order according to clues.
9-Cut neurons paths to stop the red sphere from reaching neurons x3.
10-Drag the correctly shaped glass shards to matching slots.
11-Select 3 glass shards until all are removed (colored shards only 2)
12-Turn all valves to the right, selecting one affects others.
13-Box in groups of 4 powder heaps on the grid.
14-Ask both parrots all questions and then deduce which bird lies.
The Collector's Edition version has 9 Wallpapers, 6 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 7 Movie Video Cutscenes, 24 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 35 re-playable Mini-Games, 15 Achievements to earn, 34 Collectible Hidden Paw Prints, 22 Morphing Objects within the Hidden Object Scenes, 12 Souvenirs within the Souvenir Room, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide.

Graphics were well done and clear. Colors were pleasant and not dark and eerie as one would suspect. Music and effects went along with the action in the scene. Voice overs were extremely well done.
As mentioned, this game is over wrought with mini games. Way too many in my opinion. I don't care for them to begin with and to have one right after the other.... ridiculous. The hidden object games were good, clear and a pleasure to do. Had there been the usual number of minis, this would have been a good game.To be fair, many of the minis are not difficult. Some I couldn't understand what to do and the others were way past my patience level.
I'm sure there is a story in here someplace. About all I could get out of it, and the demo seemed pretty long to me, is werewolves are taking over London. Yep, that's about it in the time I played. It must come together in the rest of the game. Others will tell you about the story, so I'll leave that to them.
I almost bought this game anyway to add to my collection in the series, but this one will not be joining the collection. If you love mini games you're going to love this game. Just not my cup of tea. Give the demo a try and maybe you'll enjoy it more than me. Show less

While I liked the story fine enough, and the characters were...decent...actually no, I hated all of the new ones except for John, and he didnt even talk. But: my version had some problems with the Clicks, sometimes I needed to smash the buttons for it to pick up an item in HOPs or in a location. I'm not sure if that is the games fault, just wanted to mention it here.
I don't recommend this game.

Vermillion Watch London Howling is the fifth and hopefully the final game in this series. This review will be another short one as I could find nothing that I really enjoyed or liked in the game. Yes, idiot that I am I purchased the full game hoping it would get better but it seemed to follow the same nonsensical storyline from the demo.
So why give this game a 1-star rating? The answer is simple: horrible storyline, and some of the worst puzzles I have found in HOPA games because the instructions were terrible, and some didn’t work at all. If you enjoy fighting an opponent and trying to cross a busy street and dodging traffic type puzzles, then you might like this game. However, the beginning of the game seemed to go quickly from one puzzle to the next with no momentum. The HOP scenes were more of the same but why put a flower bed scene in a game when we are trying to find a werewolf?
Graphics are a strong point with this developer and they are as good as always but a bit dark for my taste. I always love playing a game and looking at all the details in every scene when I play which is one reason I am a slow gamer but in London Howling, even though the graphics were crisp and clear, I really didn’t want to take my time and look at the slightly changed rehashed graphics from other games in the series. In the early days when EIPIX first developed games at BFG, the games were some of the best I had played but now, their games have lost their appeal for me. I still hold out hope that this once creative team will somehow bring us a game that will again showcase their talent.
Honestly, it is not often that I don’t recommend a game but I have to at least say “try the demo before you buy”. Even though I dislike the game you might see something I didn’t and it might be just the game for you. Happy gaming! Show less
