We bear witness to the miracles life has to offer, we find true love, and sometimes our hearts are broken. As our journey continues, our hearts create an unbreakable bond the moment a child enters our lives. We would move mountains for them but soon discover they can move them on their own.

But My Brother Rabbit isn't really about the ups and downs of real life. This is an incredible adventure borne from the creative imagination of a loving brother, to help them both escape the frightening uncertainty of real life. (All I will say further is that you definitely need tissues!)

I actually purchased and completed this game from AM, in September, but I purchased this Collector's Edition today as well. This version has a Hint button available as well as the ability to Skip the Mini-Games. I will say that I felt more of a sense of pride by not having those crutches to tempt me the first go-round

Rethink the way you play HOPA games and you will have no problem playing My Brother Rabbit. You won't get a slip of paper hung next to the problem you are trying to solve, but don't overthink the solutions! Every task has a clue, you have to look for the clues to see them, and by that, I mean that clues can be easily overlooked or even interpreted, and it's easy to overthink the solution, but in reality, it's a fairly easy game to master.

There are no words spoken, characters may have things to say, but the thought bubbles are just that, thoughts in the form of pictures. If an icon with a Lightbulb appears, that requires an inventory item, and inventory items are almost always in multiples, such as 10 spiders, 7 feathers, etc. The icon for those items will appear on the top Right, if the icon box is Gray, that means there aren't any in that scene (check the boxes each time you enter a scene) If the icon is Blue, it means there is at least one in that scene. Sometimes the items are out in the open requiring a single click, sometimes they are partially hidden behind something, sometimes they require using the ole noggin to figure out how to get them...but trust me, those are the ones that are fun, and those items show how incredibly ingenious Artifex Mundi is! For example, you may have to search for clues to show you which symbols need to adjoin to open a vending machine, or which position to place levers to open the correct glass displays.

Once you have collected all of the items shown on an Inventory icon (click the tab at the bottom of the icon to see where the items are used if you forget) you will complete a Mini-Game. These puzzles aren't necessarily difficult, but some of them are more complex than others. They are probably puzzles you have solved before, but some of them are more complex than they are in normal HOPA games. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter to give you an idea:

1~Drag a loop to attach matching colored gears without crossing paths.
2~Swap square tiles to recreate the image.
3~Tap buttons to replicate the pattern of dots you saw earlier.
4~Rotate triangular tiles with pipe sections to create paths for Red, Blue, Green & Orange.
5~Rotate disk sections to align columns of identical symbols, rotating 1 disk may affect others.
6~Rotate groups of 4 spiders to replicate the correct color pattern.
7~Repeate the color sequence of Crystals that light up x3.
8~Click on microbes to reveal and match identical symbols.
9~Drag picture fragments to complete the photo.
10~Swap pipe sections to connect from beginning to end.
11~Push all mushrooms out, pushing one may affect others.
12~Rotate 2 circles to swap positions of colored sections to align with the matching outer colors.

There are 5 Chapters or realms, before moving to the next chapter you will have to complete a Hidden Object Scene where you find and replace missing items that are highlighted on a Diagram. The items are cleverly blended into the scene and I loved every one of them!

This is the most beautifully illustrated Adventure game that I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I can't tell you how many times I was in awe of the cleverness of the interactions, tasks, and puzzles. It's a journey that must be taken to appreciate the ingenious creativity! Show less

I think this could well be the best game to emerge for many years. The story is heartwarming, the graphics simply beautiful, and the gameplay outstanding and unusual.

It is very different from what is usually classified as a H/Object puzzle game and would probably fit just as well into adventure or puzzle catagories on their own.

I must admit I have played the game before on another platform. However..I have purchased it again as BFG has come to the rescue and modified this version with a hint button and a skip button for the puzzles which was my only frustration with the original, having to constantly close down and find a walkthrough to move on. This version has made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It takes a LOT for me to buy a game twice!!

You will spend many hours emersed in a fantasy world with a heartwarming mission to save your sick child owner and find a cure for her illness and using all your senses. The story can make you emotional at times.

Try the demo, keep an open mind, take your time and enjoy. I think this is the game of the year. (if not the decade) Thanks BFG! Show less

At first I really didn't think I would play more than a few minutes of the demo . I really didn't think I would like it. The more I played it I quickly changed my mind. Very cute and charming game . If you are familiar with the Mortimer Beckett : Time Paradox games it reminds me of those. You got to find the right objects to use in the right places to advance the story. I have only played the demo version so far but I just love this game. Not as challenging as some but the artwork, soundtrack and gentle puzzles made me smile all the way through. A perfect stress-buster and happiness generator for adults.

I'm writing this while the purchased game is downloading, after about 5 minutes into the demo.

I was sold at the cover art. It doesn't matter what your fav genre is, this game is a must buy.

I've been with BFG for about 10 years, so it was easy for me to recognize an off-the-beaten-path, totally original, well-designed FANTASTIC brain teaser/HO game.

The graphics are perfect, the game play is sooo good, the problem-solving is a blast, and it's built in a family-oriented game play atmosphere. Great logic learning experience for the younger set, with parent-assisted problem solving.

Only played for about half an hour and I must say that I'm a fan!
It's a game for everyone who still can find the inner child.

It reminds me of a series, made some years ago called "Drawn". It has some of the same caracter and also build upon a good story.

I recommend this game!

This cannot even be classified as a game, but a living, interactive book. As a nurse, this reminded me of family members finding ways to comfort their child during the hours of being in a hospital, undergoing treatments for a malady. I will be recommending this to others.

I absolutely LOVED this game! The story is very poignant and the gameplay reminds me so much of the Tiny Bang Story. As a pediatric oncology nurse, I totally get the idea behind children using their imaginations to escape a serious situation...this imagination can be powerful and, at times, can help children bridge the chasm between life and death. The story touched my heart and the whimsical artwork breathed life into Rabbit's quest to heal his sister, the Flower. I think the authors and artists behind the game were very sensitive in dealing with the serious nature of the story by sharing small bits of the story as Rabbit continues on his quest to help his little sister, allowing every mini-game and hidden object hunt to serve a very specific purpose in getting Rabbit closer and closer to his goal. Artifex Mundi hit it out of the park with this one...this is a "Game of the Year" contender. If you have played the Tiny Bang Story and love it, as I do, you will really appreciate this game as well. In a recent influx of dark, ghost-monster-someone is missing-save the world games, My Brother Rabbit stands alone...Thank You Artifex Mundi!! Show less

This game is a classic, a masterpiece! Its story is set in a fairy tale kingdom depicted with breathtaking cartoon-like graphics! The story is a heart touching tale of an older brother dealing with his little sister’s illness. He enters a fantasy world to cope with the fear he feels for his sister. In this world he is a rabbit, carrying his sister from location-to-location attempting to save her life in the only way he, as a child, can envision – in a world of fantasy where the impossible can become possible.

In the world of gaming, the impossible has become the possible for Artifex Mundi as well – a new style of HOP game. This game is what I consider a hybrid – combining the elements from a standard HOP game with those of an adventure game. It is a point-and-click adventure in which it is necessary to examine scenes to uncover necessary items or uncover areas which need to be acted upon. There is NO dialogue – rather actions and puzzles are indicated with visual references. The game itself is one ingenious large puzzle, requiring logic to deduce what actions are necessary to proceed within the game.

There is no strategy guide; however, there is a hint button to help you with the game. You can replay four (4) search and seek HOP scenes which require searching for parts to create four (4) whimsical machines which make noises as parts are added. There are other quasi-HOP searches in which a specific number of an item must be located to proceed in the game. Unlike most HOP games, different scenes must be searched to locate all the items. Some are well-hidden within those scenes. At times the player must complete some puzzle to gain access to them as well.

There are twenty-five (25) puzzles within the game. Most range from easy to medium difficulty. Unfortunately, you cannot replay the puzzles from this game. This is one aspect of this game I wish BFG had provided. The puzzles are thematic, and most are of middle difficulty. However, I found none terribly difficult. Puzzles can be skipped in this version of this game.

One nice feature provided by BFG is a digital copy of the artwork which can be downloaded. There are three (3) wallpapers along with a soulful, melodic soundtrack. I do hope this developer will continue to create more games from their own studios. This game is a perfect example of why they stand out in comparison to other game developers. This is an award-winning game not to be missed!

SPOILERS: HERE ARE SAMPLES OF THE PUZZLES WITHIN THE GAME

A. Connection puzzle. Connect two like colored tokens without crossing lines with other connections between tokens
B. Rotating tiles puzzle. Rotate three rings so that 3 different colored critters are situated on their same colored ring.
C. Sequence puzzle. Press on crystals to repeat a given sequence as to when they light up. 3X
D. Matching puzzle. Match up like symbols by clicking on germs to portray the symbols.
E. Jigsaw puzzle. Create a picture by placing pieces into their proper locations.
F. Pipe puzzle. Connection puzzle. Connect pipes so they allow water to flow from one end to the other.
G. Sequence puzzle. Remove mushrooms from a grid in the proper sequence until all are removed. Moving one affects the others.
H. Gear puzzle. Connect gears within a grid so they mesh with each other.
I. Tangram puzzle. Place irregular pieces into a grid so that all fit and mesh within a grid.
J. Mathematical puzzle. Turn keys on a circular grid by moving 3 spaces clockwise or two spaces counterclockwise until all keys are turned.
K. Connection puzzle. Connect pots with spouts so that the spouts connect to allow fluid to be transferred.
L. Domino puzzle. Place beetles with dots on their backs and fronts so that beetles next to each other match up with the number of dots on either the back or front with the beetle next to it.

FINAL TRIBUTE TO ARTIFEX MUNDI: In 2013, I played my favorite game by this developer, “Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren’s Call.” I was in awe of that game at the time with its beautiful graphics, wondrous activities, and beautiful storyline. Although now somewhat dated, to me, it is a classic and still one of my favorite games. Now years later, I am experiencing the same awe I felt back then. I do believe this game will become a classic as well. Thank you for reminding me that, although they may be rare, there are still some fantastic games being developed out there in the gaming world!
