Campgrounds IV is such a unique Time Management game and I buy them sight unseen, and have never been disappointed. Campgrounds IV is such a unique Time Management game and I buy them sight unseen, and have never been disappointed. When I discovered that each scene has a buried Map piece that unlocks a secret campground after reconstructing the map, I got even more excited! What a cool feature :) There are 6 map pieces to unlock the secret Jungle Campgrounds, 8 map pieces to unlock the secret Desert Campground, 9 map pieces to unlock the secret Mountains Campground, 7 map pieces to unlock the secret Mines Campground, 10 map pieces to unlock the secret Swamps Campground and 10 map pieces to unlock the secret Beaches Campground.

There are 50 Campsite Levels that can be played in an Untimed Mode, an Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulty Mode, and there are 18 Trophy Achievements to earn. The Collector's Edition extras include 20 Bonus Levels, and the 6 Secret Campground Levels with the Hidden Map Pieces, and a Strategy Guide.

Although you must clear paths to get to the campsites, there's not a whole lot of Resource gathering, instead, you build Factories and buy the resources needed in bulk. This is a multi-click type of TM game where you click on campsites and then a specific Tab.

~The Housing Tab allows you to choose from several options such as Tents, Campers, Cabins, resorts, etc. which depends on the level goals as to which one to build. Each "housing" type can be upgraded 3 times, each upgrade earns more rent than its predecessor. Buildings can also be Salvaged if it's no longer useful, allowing you to erect a new building or tent.
~The Buildings Tab allows you to build Factories for supplies, Farmhouses for food and other camp-related necessities, such as Playgrounds, Factories, and Farms, for example, allow you to buy supplies in bulk amounts, which you need in order to build and upgrade the tents.

Don't pass this one up folks, it's unique, it's super fun, it's challenging, and this CE has good value for the Hidden Map pieces that unlock Secret Campgrounds!

I simply bought this ..one of my favourite series. It is pure and classic TM, with a nice twist toward ecological themes of restoring run down campsites and planting trees.

In this CE you will get a strategy guide (written), 50 normal levels, 20 extra levels on completion of the game, AND there is a new feature where you must find a hidden map on each level, then when you have found the required amount which you check on the map tab how many you need, you piece together the map which then creates another bonus level (6 in all) You can just go back and look for the pieces later if you miss one and then just leave the level.

There are four modes of play, relaxed, easy, normal and hard. Your time is counted in days to complete the tasks. I learned my lesson a long time ago with this series, that my favourite speed is easy, as you cant just flip between modes without starting a new profile, and although it starts easy this series traditionally get really hard near the end. (you could play a timed and an easy or relaxed side by side?) There are achievements and you can skip the dialogue if you like.

This is one TM where I really think the strategy guide is a bonus and there is good CE level value too. There is no help on the net for ages, and though I pride myself in being a pretty good TM'er, I always need the strategy guide eventually. And I am assuming this game will be the same?

One thing I was so glad to see was that (and I was told) there are no more elephants being shot. Hooray, this is one thing that put a lot of people from purchase, and it didn't fit with the eco theme at all. So good on you developers!

You will build and restore campsites with tents and trailers (and eventually cabins and houses), food vans, production buildings such as greenhouses to make seeds for gardens and create an eco friendly campsite. In this one when you put a garden on a site it now gives you fruit as well as gold. There is a factory best kept away from your gardens but near your base.

Other than the maps I have not come across anything different so far in this game, so I cant really tell you if there are further changes as I am not too far in, but hopefully have given a bit of an outline. (and I have actually cleared a creek blockage requiring multiple workers lol) I expect with so many levels much will yet be introduced. If you love classic TM you will love this

I am not going to penalise my rating because there is some 'same' gameplay... it's just so darn enjoyable from the graphics down to the strategy you will need to employ. Enjoy!..(especially those who have never tried because of the animal shooting...its gone!) Show less

One of my favourite series - and this latest game does not disappoint. A truly brilliant game is one you want to replay and while I have not yet finished I am sure I will be doing that.

If you know the series note that there are some differences in game play to earlier Campgrounds. So the challenge is different. The main thing is that in addition to a factory and a greenhouse you now have a food truck. That costs some money to build but once built you just send someone to it to generate food. But to get supplies from the factory you now need food not money. You need both food and supplies to build a house so you have to plan to ensure you have both - but just supplies to upgrade the house. You can also get food in some levels from bushes or from gardens when they are added to houses.

Other differences are that you can choose to build a Shaman laboratory once this becomes available (and use the boost when you can pay for it) and you can only upgrade everything once. As other reviewers have noticed you don't shoot animals - instead, when they appear (quite late on in the main story) you feed them to get rid of them. In most levels you can find a piece of a map and when you have all the pieces for one section you put them together to make a map and this gives you access to an extra level - if you remember the first campgrounds it works the same.

Otherwise you generate seeds from a greenhouse as normal (using money) and you plant things on the indicated spots or add gardens to houses to generate eco points; you build playgrounds and run events on them to generate happiness among campers.

My only concern is whether it is going to get too difficult. So far I have been playing at normal level and am only getting silver in the later levels even after using the strategy guide. I enjoy replaying the levels and trying to better my previous score but like to feel I will eventually get gold.

As with earlier Campgrounds, you are taught new features clearly as they are introduced. The CE has 20 bonus levels in addition to the main play and the "secret" levels you discover through the maps. But the real joy of this series is the variety in the goals you have to achieve so that it never gets boring. Show less

This series has always been fun and worth waiting for and this latest addition does not disappoint! Great graphics, strategy and quality went into this...and who doesn't love a food truck! The ability to get more food resources now makes this game tons more fun!

I would not have even demoed this had I not read Joybelle2's review as I give so much of my time to animal welfare and although I am A tm nut was in total disagreeance to the shooting of animals. I would say though that you can always go back to find the hidden maps if you do not stumble across them as 60 mins goes quickly and it just takes more time to find hidden items. I love this series. I bought this game untried because I know by the reviews that it's not going to disappoint me. It is every bit as fun as I wanted. I am so happy that the devs have not changed the formula for playing the game. They just switched things up to keep it interesting. Try it!

Finally, a TM game which is really challenging in hard mode ! There are so many games which are desesperatly easy nowadays, even when played in hard mode...

I've played all the Campgrounds and in this one there's the added food truck and bushes. This game remind me of Royal Envoy. I'm wondering if the same company made both. Give the demo a shot and you might love it as much as I do.
