I have looked forward to new releases of Vacation Adventures Park Rangers for the past 8 years because they always give me that warm and fuzzy feeling. I have looked forward to new releases of Vacation Adventures Park Rangers for the past 8 years because they always give me that warm and fuzzy feeling. There's just something about this series that brings back fond memories, it's like an old friend, familiar enough to bring comfort, yet always a delight to add a new chapter to the relationship when catching up on the latest adventures.

You can play in a Casual Mode (untimed-faster hint recharge) a Challenge Mode (timed-normal hint recharge) or Extreme (timed as to how long it takes to complete the scene-all wildlife & recyclables must be found) There are 20 Achievements to earn for completing various tasks such as finding Wildlife, buying souvenirs, or finishing a mini-game quickly. You can purchase 16 Park Souvenir's which are stored in a Display Case tab.

There are seek and find puzzles in scenes all around the park, and even scenes where you find multiples of similar or related objects. I loved the scene where you were tasked with finding 20 Dollar Bills in the Mall, it was a really challenging scene and it took me forever to find that last dollar bill!

Each scene has several Wildlife Animals to find that are shown as silhouettes in a box to the left of the word search bar and when all the animals have been spotted, the box will close. There is a Wildlife Notebook that allows you to see illustrations of all the wildlife you have found. There are 18 Toads & Frogs, 31 Birds, 27 Insects, 42 Mammals, and 26 Reptiles, for a whopping total of 144 Wildlife Critters to spot.

You will also Recycle cans, bottles, and paper found in each scene, and when all recyclables have been found, the recycle Can icon will be displayed as full. Some of the trash items are located within Zoom Zones as well.

There are 16 Photo Op scenes that allow you to take a photo for your Album whenever you see the Camera Icon so don't forget to keep an eye out for those Photo Ops.

You will earn an Eagle Eye achievement if you don't use either the Hint Magnifying Glass that shows the location of a single random item or the Mega Hint feature which shows the location of all available items from the list. You'll earn a Bronze Star for completing the Search, a Silver Star if you find all Wildlife OR all Recyclable Items, and a Gold Star if you find all Wildlife AND all Recyclable items.

Words listed in Blue are Tasks that require an interaction of some type, and words in Red are hidden inside or behind things. Most of the scenes have a Zoom Zone (indicated by sparkling stars) that has hidden items and sometimes includes Recyclables or Wildlife. Levels can be replayed at any time to better your time/score or pick up missing recyclable items or wildlife. and the items to find are different each time you replay it.

After each Search Scene, you'll play a variety of Mini Games such as Placing Map Shapes, Spot The Difference, Word Search, or several different types of Jigsaw Puzzles (Rotate Squares, Swap Tile Sections, Flipsaw's, Slider Puzzles, etc.)

I recently lost everything in a housefire including my beloved 4# dog Loki. I play games because I enjoy them, I review games because I enjoy helping others, even if my reviews only help a single person it's still worth it to me. My world is in turmoil and I'm lost without Loki yet I'm still choosing to help others make decisions about Big Fish games with my reviews so it would be really nice if the "multiple NOs-voter" could just stop and think about other people for a change. There are way more important things in life to accomplish than a petty, hurtful gesture...

Love love love Vacation Adventures! I love that it has a cheery theme. I love the graphics and storyline. Just wish they could come up with a four seasonal theme so we could look forward to games four times a year and not just in the summer! Another great addition to their collection!

In this series I am glad they didn't change a thing the last few episodes, because this game is absolutely perfect as it is! I always get cheerful when I play games by this developer.

Others may find it boring and repetitious after 11 games already but I find it perfectly entertaining every time. Nothing really changes but I don't care! I love the challenging search for all the well hidden items, animals and trash. I love the fun variety of mini-games and jigsaws, not so easy-peasy but the challenge is just right. Graphics are always top-notch, colors bright and true to the park setting. We don't want neons here!

Visitors are everywhere, each scene bustling with activity and when you take a closer look there's always something going on in the background. Along with their usual duties the rangers may even deal with an occasional emergency. The mostly real-people images make the scenes so much more interesting although the hand-drawn characters are very well done. Reading dialogue is necessary but I never find it annoying or boring. The educational and replay values make this game an even better purchase.

The CE always has lots of extra levels and games but the SE version doesn't skip a beat when it comes to a great value. Leave out the extra content and we still have plenty of everything to keep us entertained for a long time. When my budget says no to the CE I never feel like I'm missing out on anything. This is a great series for all ages to enjoy! Show less

This game is just like all the rest, perfect. I adore everything about it. From the minigames to the actual hidden object scenes, this game has it all. I hope they never change anything about them. As pennmom36 says, playing these is like visiting an old, dear friend.

I love the Park Ranger series and buy each new one the minute it comes out. I like that the familiar characters are always featured. I wish Casual Arts would also continue Cruise Director and the Halloween and Christmas games with the same family.

For me this developer is at the top. So much so that others copy, which just goes to show if other devs try to copy this game it is well up there, in fact I would say the top for this genre.

You can set this to what ever level of play you like. For me it is relax all the way but for others they like a fast timer for the challenge. So kudos for catering for us all.

They are similar and I know I do complain about similar games but these are different. These are high quality, others are not, so why change a good thing ?

When you start be aware of the direct x, if you have already played these games then you do not need it just close it . If you do select to download DX you may encounter a problem.
You only need to download it if you do not have the latest DX which if you have the latest of these games you will already have. I know this always confuses folks so hopefully this helps.
All in this is one of the best with plenty to do and I just love the mini games. Try the demo and see what you think Show less

I did have to upload an update for the C++ thing, but it was easy and quick and no issues. What else is there to say about one of the most popular games ever on Big Fish? Been waiting for this series to come out. I really love this series. I have all of them. These games are so fun and relaxing so much better then those dark games that come out. I love the outdoors and this game makes you feel like your right there with the people and rangers. I love the outdoors and this game makes you feel like your right there with the people and rangers. Some objects can be be hard to find they blend in very well and the puzzles are moderate, not to difficult. Can't say enough about how well these games are put together. So far there are some changes in this new series but overall the same concept. I like how you have to clean up the recyclables to keep the park clean and snapping the pictures to create memories. I will be waiting for the new Cruise Director Adventure to come out. Thanks devs for putting out a great series These are my favorite type of games to play. Don't like those dark games. These games are more pleasant to play. Show less
