If you're a majhong fan, the first 6 levels are all a tutorial for the uninitiated. Very frustrating, and I nearly deleted the demo because I thought the rest of the game would be the same.

Fortunately, I persisted and whoa! The game gets quite a bit more challenging after level 7.

The objective is to collect shards that then fit into images of the usual Egyptian artifacts. We are given plenty of tools down the right hand side, like Shuffle, Hint, and some others I can't remember right now that make it seem as if you can't lose. Wrong! Oh, did I mention that you have to collect enough gold to buy those nifty tools? Yeah, it's easy to find yourself on the short end of the rope, having to replay the level until you get it right. Kinda' like Groundhog Day.

The tiles are brilliant. Because we are not given all the available tiles at once, as you move through the levels more and more beauties show up. One is a menacing crocodile that makes the croc in Peter Pan look like a wimp. Flowers, jewelry, scarabs, symbols, rainbow colored Chinese writing, and more. The eye candy alone is worth the price of admission.

This is a definite buy for me :D Show less

When I reached Level 83 I was not able to get through it even though I tried for two days.

I gave up and deleted the game from my computer, but I was still ticked off and grumbling. After reading some of the reviews for this game I decided to do a bit of investigating and found some information that caused me to re-load the game and sally forth to complete the series.

When I reached Level 83 I was not able to get through it even though I tried for two days.

Here’s what happened: I found out that one can earn 500 points after every level by completing the puzzle in the scrapbook. This is in addition to any points earned in the game. The scrapbook is found on the lower left of the map. It looks like a book wrapped in two big rubber bands, but which are probably leather given the time period. I ended up with hundreds of points and was able to breeze through the “devil” level 83 and complete the game which is 120 levels.

I am so pleased with myself that I’m going to play the game again but with the points accrued from the scrap book.

I recommend this game. It’s not so difficult when one has enough points. Show less

I enjoy playing games through this developer and I enjoy learning about the Egyptian features I like the music that goes with the games. I find this type of game relaxing to play

No indication of how many matches are left

Very expensive to get more bonuses.

Very difficult to get more than 1 star after the first few levels.

This could be such a good game and needs a few tweaks. Half of me is saying to buy this then the other half is saying no. I am just concerned it is going to become too hard to progress without the tweaks that need doing.

At first, I was rather enjoying this Egyptian-themed Mahjong game...until I reached the seventh level. I started out playing on the Normal Mode of difficulty but after playing levels 7-10 several times without receiving more than a single star, I switched to the Easy Mode. By the time I reached level 12, I had to use all 5 Reshuffle bonuses because tiles remained stacked upon one another with no possible moves, 5 different times. After exhausting all reshuffle bonuses, I replayed the level a couple more times with the same result. I gave up because it isn't much fun to have to replay a level over and over with the same "no possible moves remaining" scenario!

There are 32 Artifacts to uncover on the Mahjong Levels. You will collect fragments and drag them onto the artifact outline and once reconstructed, the artifact will explain a fun fact about the item, as well as reward you with Gold Coins. I thought this was a decent feature and I enjoyed reading about the various Egyptian Artifacts.

The goal is to earn 3 Stars, but there was no real explanation as to what the criteria were to earn all 3 stars. There is a blue circular meter that fills when you make fast, consecutive matches, but no timer that I was aware of so your guess is as good as mine? Most of the levels required you to remove all of the pairs of Mahjong Tiles, some levels required you to uncover Treasure Tiles or Big Treasure Tiles to complete the level regardless of how many normal tiles remained. It wasn't clear whether using the bonuses would automatically take away a star, when I used the shuffle feature, it seemed impossible to earn all 3 stars, better instructions were definitely needed in this game!

As you progress, Bonuses are added, such as a Board Reshuffle, an Undo, a Hint feature that finds similar tiles, a Torchlight to highlight the available tiles, and a Lightning bonus that removes several pairs of tiles. They give you 5 of each to start out, I'm assuming you can purchase more with the coins you earn? There is a Magnifying Glass tab on the left side that didn't explain that it zooms the board until level 9!

When the score window appears, it only gives you an option to continue onto the next level, if you choose to replay the level for whatever reason, you'll have to go to the level map and choose the level you want to replay, it's even worse if you want to replay the level mid-game because you have to select the menu tab, select the quit option and then go to the level map to choose the level!

If this game had better feature and scoring instructions and didn't constantly require you to use a reshuffle feature several times in a row on the same level, I would have given the game at least 4-stars because I love Egyptian-themed games, the music was really good, and the levels were fun...until they weren't because of a programming oversight!
