At first this seems very easy and a bit boring but you need to give it the full demo time as there are some really cool features to this game.
I just had to buy it and I am glad I did.
Some cards count down to zero and if you do not make a match you lose a card from your stack, one to avoid if possible.

First card game I have ever played with A queen with a full beard lol but you will get used to it.
As this gets further in it becomes way more challenging and at
first has the appearance of a child's game but trust me, it's not.

Unlike that other solitaire series we've seen a lot of lately, Sailor's Stories Solitaire actually does have a story and all kinds of new obstacles to overcome. I still miss the Morphing powerups but this game is pretty entertaining nonetheless!

Unlike that other solitaire series we've seen a lot of lately, Sailor's Stories Solitaire actually does have a story and all kinds of new obstacles to overcome. I still miss the Morphing powerups but this game is pretty entertaining nonetheless!

I like that some levels are difficult, and some are fairly easy to conquer on the first try. There are 4 Nautical Card Graphics and 2 Card Font styles which are large enough to avoid eyestrain and an easily recognizable font style. There are 11 Trophies, 150 Levels, 4 Extra Stories, 5 Wallpapers, and 10 Extra Mini-Games, well worthy of the price.

OBSTACLES:
-Chained Cards: requires 2 plays
-Blocker Effect: requires playing the Valve Card
-Whirlwind: remove this card within the number shown on the card or it removes a deck card & starts over!
-Flower Cards: this one is tricky, black flowered numbers must be played on a black suit, red flowers on red suits. After playing the card, it changes the card number on the deck.
-Lock Cards: require you to make a combo in whatever length the Lock shows.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:
-Deck Card Changer: this will change the deck card into a useful card and recharges in 20 plays.
-Cannon Shot: remove any chosen active card, recharges in 28 moves
-Eagle Eye: shuffles all cards on the board
-Compass: removes two random cards from the board

I was able to play quite a few levels, some were really quick and some were more difficult. I didn't have any replays but I never object to them if the game isn't fixed with a ton of them just to create challenge. Some solitaires are so set-up for no-wins that the aggravation overcomes the desire to carry on. I think you know what I mean.

Sailor's Stories Solitaire doesn't have a lot of fancy stuff, has just enough extras to keep it interesting. The challenge grew as I progressed through the demo and I am always thrilled to be able to clear the cards off the table by myself. That right there is enough to get my thumbs up for this game! The 150 levels, achievements, and extra mini-games and stories make this a good deal. I think it is worth purchasing, coupon or not. Show less

I usually like solitaire games, not this one.

The cards without pips are a nightmare for a dyslexic like me because the 6 and the 9 look the same. Yes, I know there's a (very) small bar underneath the 9 to distinguish it from the 6, but that doesn't always pierce through a brain like mine when the cards are in an unusual position. Thankfully, there is a choice and you can have cards with pips, ...Show more

I usually like solitaire games, not this one.

The cards without pips are a nightmare for a dyslexic like me because the 6 and the 9 look the same. Yes, I know there's a (very) small bar underneath the 9 to distinguish it from the 6, but that doesn't always pierce through a brain like mine when the cards are in an unusual position. Thankfully, there is a choice and you can have cards with pips, but I still feel that this should be brought up in hopes they change that.

The story was annoying. For me it detracted from the game. I also found that sometimes the Skip button did not work for me.

I also did not like the level of challenge: I found myself having to replay the levels many, many times, even to get one star, let alone three. Sometimes I ended up with most of the cards out still and yet other times I could clear the board easily in one go. I don't particularly care for luck determining everything, in this type of game. You can flatout completely lose in this one over and over again. For example, I had a couple of boards where I had two cards left in the deck before I could make my first move.

I appreciate that they did something different with the obstacles, but it's not enough for me to want to get this. Show less

I found this extremely boring, did not enjoy it at all. Not even worth a free game. Won't be a buy for me.
