We love playing Cruise Director. We go on several cruises and this game extends our vacation. I only wish they would have new versions sooner than the wait between Cruise Director 7 and 8

You can't go wrong choosing a Cruise Director game. Just like Park Rangers the entertainment and quality never falters. The graphics are always stellar, the activities are fun with just the right level of challenge so everyone can enjoy. I especially appreciate that the vacationers are not cartoon characters.

The graphics are always stellar, the activities are fun with just the right level of challenge so everyone can enjoy. I especially appreciate that the vacationers are not cartoon characters.

The scenes are bustling with people enjoying their vacations, the locations are not boring, there's so much to take in and lots of hidden objects to find. For me this is a feel good game that never disappoints. Even with it being basically the same each time it doesn't matter because it is always reliable for relaxing fun and quality content.

It's good to get away from the dark, gloomy games once in awhile and enjoy something nice and cheery! Show less

There's just something about a new Vacation Adventures game that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Yes, they are cheesy HOG's. yes, they are basically all the same...But, that's part of the charm. The familiarity of the game is comforting, relaxing, and enjoyable.

You can play in a Casual Mode (untimed-faster hint recharge), a Challenge Mode (timed-normal hint recharge), or Extreme Mode, which is only available in the CE version (timed-no available hints-all wildlife & recyclables must be found, and you will earn all achievements as well) There are 19 Achievements to earn for completing various tasks such as buying Souvenirs, earning an Eagle Eye award or completing the game. You can purchase 16 Cruise Souvenirs, which are stored in a cabin room.

Each scene has several Lost & Found Items that are shown as silhouettes •in a Portal to the left of the word search bar, and when all items have been spotted, the portal will close. Each Scene has 3 Golden Anchor's to find, and a checkmark will appear when all have been found. There are 16 Photo-op scenes that have a Camera Icon, which allows you to take a photo for the photo album.

You will earn an Eagle Eye achievement if you don't use either the Hint or Mega Hint feature. The Magnifying Glass will show you a hint of one item, and the Mega hint will show you the location of every item left to find.

You'll earn a Bronze Star for completing the Search, a Silver Star if you find all Lost & Found items OR Anchors, and a Gold Star if you find all Lost & Found items AND Gold Anchors. Words listed in Blue require an interaction of some type, and words in Red are hidden inside or behind things.

Most of the scenes have two Zoom Zones (indicated by sparkling stars) that have hidden items and sometimes include Anchors or Lost & Found items. After each Hidden Object Scene, you'll play a variety of Mini Games, such as Word Search, Jigsaws, or Label Placement.

•Explore Rte 66 by Car: St Louis-Oklahoma City-Amarillo-Albuquerque-Flagstaff-Santa Monica.
•SS Liberty of the 7 Seas: Cruise the Pacific and enjoy the Wonders of Hawaii,

•Cruise the Eastern Seaboard from Port Canaveral to New York.

I get excited when a new Vacation Adventure game posts. I own them all. The scenes are always so beautiful.
But in this one, the scenes are too small for aging eyes and windows magnifier locks the game up. The last couple Park Ranger versions no longer do this...so I assumed this one would be 'fixed' too.
I wish, for the costs, the Collector's Editions gave a lot more. There are some games that ...Show more

First of all, there are the names of items that require you to look it up before you can find it. I am well educated and yet found that I had to do this way more than with any other game. Pinna? First of all, there are the names of items that require you to look it up before you can find it. I am well educated and yet found that I had to do this way more than with any other game. Pinna? Acta Diurna? Busker? They have done this on other games but, like I said, this one took the cake on the number. They also got rid of the trash and replaced it with finding anchors. But the anchors are bright gold and stick out like a sore thumb. I think this is a throwaway since it takes no effort to find them. One of the things that I found annoying was the jigsaw puzzle. Instead of having a border that was a solid or semi-solid color, or muted pattern, this one was VERY BUSY so that if you put the extra pieces along the border, you couldn't see them.

If you like this series, this isn't terrible but it isn't the best one by a long shot. :-) Show less

I love the cruise vacation games, and was eager to buy when I saw this new one. I have to say it was really disappointing. The game felt short, and the scenes were mostly from previous editions. Many of the scenes were onboard, and not many of the locations visited. There didn't seem to be anything new or exciting in this game.

I don't recommend this game.

Well, haven't we gotten lazy. I just played the free trial but that was enough. The scenes I played were largely recognized from past games. I expect some of that but this was sad. I did like the one addition of collecting gold anchors but they did away with the iconic trash collection. I won't purchase this game, which is sad because I LOVE this series.

I don't recommend this game.
