My mother is 95 years old and this is the perfect game for her, she loves it.

If she is happy then I am happy, I enjoy it too but it is very easy going and simple.

I recommend this game!

Detective Agency is what I would consider a low level, no frills hidden object game. Unfortunately, it doesn't present well in the beginning, and I can see where a lot of players would leave the game fairly quickly. Detective Agency is what I would consider a low level, no frills hidden object game. Unfortunately, it doesn't present well in the beginning, and I can see where a lot of players would leave the game fairly quickly. There are no voice overs, so you need to read the character dialogue. The music is atrocious and so awful it's distracting. There are also a ton of pop ups in the opening scene explaining all the ins and outs of the game as if to get it out of the way.

All that being said, I hung in there and played the demo. Once you get into the rhythm of the game, it isn't all that bad. There are mini-games and various ways of finding items, from silhouettes to putting two pieces together, to a magnifier letting you know to open something up. You also need to find a hidden raccoon in each scene.

Most story based hidden object games are much more sophisticated than this. MUCH more. But this isn't a bad little game once you get into it. Play the demo and give it a chance before buying. Three stars is about right. Show less

I was unable to play past the Math puzzle in the CE version because it froze up. Fortunately, I was able to play this SE version, so they must have fixed the glitch. The graphics are way better than in most HOGs, and the mini-games are rather interesting. If you enjoy HOGs, I don't see any reason to dislike this game!?

What I like the most is that the HO scenes take place in an entire room versus on a table or shelf in the corner of a room. The story is told via text and there are no voiceovers, but the devs did an excellent job incorporating the "case" before and after each scene without bombarding the player with a ton of dialog boxes on a clickfest that never seems to end.

The HO's vary with Listed Items, Silhouetted Shapes, Logically Related Pairs, Multiples of the same object, Find & Replace, and even Descriptive Finds where you find objects that match a brief description. Some of the objects are well-blended, but for the most part, they are easy to spot, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; sometimes, I just want to enjoy the game and relax.

Items in "pink" text are hidden in or behind other objects (a magnifying glass appears over these areas), and items listed in "green" are objects that require a task. Each scene has two Zoom Zones that will appear and disappear as the objects shown on the list are found or added.

Each HO scene has a hidden Raccoon (developer's mascot) and Silhouetted Shapes to find. You will earn a Bronze Star for completing the Hidden Object location, a Silver Star for finding the Silhouetted Shape Extras, and a Gold Star for finding the adorable Raccoon.

After each Hidden Object Scene (some of which have a secondary HO in a different form immediately afterward), you will play a mini-game, such as Rotating & Placing Fragments of a picture, Finding Matching Pairs, Rotating Ring sections, Following a path, Swapping & Rotating puzzle pieces, Placing shaped puzzle pieces, and even Spot The Difference scenes.

The Collector's Edition version includes a Hidden Raccoon in each level for bonus points, 12 Wallpapers, Silhouetted Shape Evidence Items to find in each scene, 8 Bonus Levels, 8 Bonus Puzzles, 12 Additional Puzzles, and 20 Music Soundtracks with a music player. Show less

I found this game to be dry and dull. The music was repetitive and became annoying quite quickly. Not all the searches made sense. If there were some exciting graphics, that might make up for some of it, but that wasn't even the case. For some, this might be exactly what they're looking for, but for me, it lacked the depth that I enjoy to keep the brain on its toes.

I don't recommend this game.

This game assumes you're stupid. So many help pop-ups, it makes the game almost unplayable. And then between scenes, they have complicated algebra equations that most gamers won't be able to solve, and you have to watch 60 seconds tick away before you can skip them. No element of this game is fun, challenging or relaxing in any way

I don't recommend this game.
