I enjoy playing games by this developer it was easier than most that I have played through them I found the Mahjong good but despite liking the game I lost it and I lost two marble popping games in all a great series to play

Based on demo on Win11 laptop

This is a whodunit in which we speak with the maid to start - actually, she just speaks to us - and probably other guests, aka murder suspects. We receive clues like guest lists, time of arrival, and the leads from attendees of the party. The balance of the game is a series of mixed hidden object styles and puzzles.

- We get the usual 3 game levels; I chose Casual (or whatever it's called in this game)
- I dare you to find the 2 stakes in one scene and the "elt" in another :D
- The mahjong tiles are different and made of wood, which is cool.
- We are given standard HOs plus all the other varieties with no two HO styles of the same in a row.
- I'm not sure how the story plays out as I only had time for the demo and this review, plus I was having too much fun playing the HOs and puzzles to worry about it.

- Fun fact: the (illustrated) murder victim also played the ghost of the director of an asylum where a vengeful writer died. Sorry, can't remember which studio or the name of the game. :( Show less

Was very happy to see this offered this morning.
I really love this series. A very good variety of game play.
Not too hard on the brain. A very good passtime. I hope they keep making them. I will keep buying them. Bought right away.

Please note that in an early level of the game I needed to find "Stakes" the spelling is incorrect.
It should have been spelt "Steaks".
Stakes are poles & Steaks are meat.
There was also a error message glitch at the end of Level 9 - loading level 10. "error: Access violation at 0x00003FFC (tried to read from 0x00003FFC) program terminated.

Well I played most of the demo, it was ok. I noticed misspelled words, on level 6 "stakes" instead of "steaks" and on level 20 "scull" instead of "skull", it's sad to see how spelling even the most elementary words are an issue. I will not buy this game.

I don't recommend this game.

It's a HOG with a storyline in title only. There is no adventure to this game, but if you love HOGs this is sure to please with a decent variety of hidden object lists and fun mini-games. I never buy these games because I prefer HOPAs but like trying the demos and found this pretty much okay.

Graphic design, colors are really good. The few demo characters are nicely rendered but I prefer them animated, as movement brings more interest to their presence, imo. The voices were good as well. Words were misspelled such as stake instead of steak. Some inaccurate descriptions - a salt cellar is different than a salt shaker, a cookie jar is not a pile of cookies sitting in the open.

The levels went quickly, I finished 24 in the demo. I didn't bother looking for collectibles but accidentally hit on a few. The variety of list finds was good enough to keep the searches interesting and I especially enjoyed the scrambled words list. Some objects looked nothing like I expected them to, others were hard to see in the dark areas. Some items made no sense in regards to use and placement in a scene. One list that combined 2 objects to make a new one left me scratching my head a couple of times. So all that created a pretty good challenge in every level.

A great big star was awarded for each level passed and held no significance to me other than growing a collection of them. They were too easy to earn so no sense of real accomplishment. I fail to see why a story is necessary for these games. No matter how exciting it sounds or how much the synopsis fluffs it up, it's just a title that holds no importance to the gameplay. I played the demo to the end and found no glitches. The entire trial was actually fun rather than boring which is not a common occurrence for me with this type of game, especially coming from Domini.

There is no adventure, no action, no character activity other than voice-overs. Why lead players into thinking they will have a fun adventure ahead of them when that simply isn't the case? It's an elaborate HOG and a good quality one at that and requires no need, imo, to disguise it as something it really is not. Show less

This seems to be an older game, not very involved and it just feels like it's an older game being re-issued.
There is no "Custom" for game mode which was standard for older games.

Downloaded free preview and the game froze on 4 separate occasions. I was unable to continue with it. I un-installed.
Sorry, but not impressed with this game.

This would probably be a good game for kids or beginners. Objects are really not well hidden at all. The only confusion I had was in one scene where "steaks" was spelled "stakes". Seriously?
