Loved this game, I have played many games, and this is by far my favourite. Only game where I fully understood the plot. If you like a nice game with good puzzles and HOS are different this is for you. Only con for me was the background music, got really annoying and repetitive so I turned it off.
I recommend this game!

REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME
3 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 65 pages
BACKGROUND: Welcome to northern Canada! Listen to the winds and the sounds of the forest and you too may hear the cries of Bigfoot. Journey to the small village of Blue Roche which has witnessed increased sightings of these cryptids. Are they appearing due to the increased construction of new homes in the area? At the request of an old university acquaintance, Lionel, trek through the snow-covered mountains and forests of this frozen land as you investigate the existence of this creature. Does Bigfoot exist? This game will provide some answers!
OPINION: What a great game for all those cryptozoologists out there! It appears northern Canada is a good stomping group for those furry, apish creatures. I enjoyed playing this game as I have some interest in cryptids. Houston is home to the Texas Bigfoot Conservancy. There are many enthusiasts and sightings down here in the Big Thicket. Perhaps those cryptoids have started trekking down to Texas to escape the bleak Canadian winters. Are there Bigfoot snowbirds?
I always say there are HOPA games and then there are those from DO Games. Our puzzlemeisters have outdone themselves again! Most of their games are a step above the rest and this one is no exception. If you love playing puzzles, this is the game for you. This is puzzle-intense and HOP light. There are more than twice the number of puzzles compared to HOP scenes in this game. For me, this game is well-worth the price of a collector’s edition. Being able to replay forty (40) mini-games is worth the price in itself.
The format is the same as with their other games. Most of the puzzles are offered in both an easy and hard version. The puzzle difficulty can be set in the menu at the beginning of the game. However, if the puzzle seems too easy or too difficult, the difficulty can be changed while playing the puzzle. There are three collectibles. Collect morphing mystical creature figurines and animal tracks. Also collect scrolls which can be exchanged for expedition items within the boudoir. I found the items easy to locate. You are awarded points for choosing the “right” answer. It is easy to assess which is the preferred answer – a star is posted next to it with the number of stars awarded if it is chosen. Supposedly the answers selected affect the outcome of the game. I found the game easy to play and did not experience any glitches or difficulties. At the end of each chapter, the player is given a synopsis on how well they performed within that chapter.
In the main game, I counted fifty-six (56) mini-games and twenty-one (21) HOP scenes. Upon completion of the game, the player can replay all the HOP scenes and forty (40) mini-games. The HOP scenes include standard lists of items, matching, narrative, silhouette, rebus, replacement, spot-the-difference and fragment scenes. Most of the scenes are reused; however, the HOP style is different the second time it appears within the game. There are quite a few picture puzzles in this game, all presented in a different style. I feel the puzzles, like the game itself, are incredibly well-designed,
ONE ERROR: Unlike many of this developer’s games, I was able to complete the game without any errors. However, there is an error in one of the puzzles. There is an error in the connection puzzle with the Hygeia symbol. Looking at and playing both puzzles, I could see the “hard” puzzle has less items to connect than the “easy” one and the “hard puzzle was also easier to play than the so-called “easy” one. It does not interfere with the enjoyment of the game; however, just informing the developers of this mistake.
MECHANICS:
• Four (4) levels of play including a customized version.
• 39 achievements.
• Collect 10 morphing mythical creature figurines and 10 animal footprint casts
• Collect 70 scrolls which can be exchanged for expedition supplies in the boudoir
• 10 wallpapers along with concept art, music, and video sequences
• Replay 21 HOP scenes and 40 mini-games
BONUS CHAPTER: It is a sequel. Return to Blue Roche to help Lionel thwart a billionaire developer in his attempt to build a ski resort close to the home of the Bigfoot tribe. With the help of elder Ai Wa of the Bigfoot tribe, help Lionel stop this resort from being built. I thought this chapter was a nice addition to the game. I felt it was a little preachy and stereotypical. It paints a picture of billionaires as corrupt moneygrubbers. The whole game itself tends to preach a message inculcated within the game itself. There are four (4) HOP scenes and one mini-HOP scene. There are sixteen (16) mini-games.
SPOILERS: HERE ARE A FEW OF THE 56 MINI GAMES FROM THE GAME: (E = Easy – H = Hard)
A. E/H. Connection puzzle. Connect rope knots on a grid until all are connected without returning to any knot twice. The hard version has more knots to connect.
B. E/H. Connection puzzle. Use a token imprinted with the Hygeia symbol to remove bacteria tokens from a grid. The easy and hard versions are mixed up. The easy should be the hard version with 8 tokens and the easy is the hard with 9.
C. E/H. Timed puzzle. Play notes on a piano before time runs out.
D. Sequence puzzle. Tune a violin by positioning pegs to the proper position so all arrows on dials attached to the pins point to a green dot. Moving one peg affects the others.
E. E/H. Sequence puzzle. Place letters of the alphabet in sequential order. Follow lines to boxes where letters are inserted. Trick puzzle. The easy version does not have all the letters of the alphabet – the hard does.
F. E/H. Match 3 Puzzle. Fill up Field 1 before Field 2 fills up with tokens. Remove 3 or more interconnected tokens from the field at a time. The hard version has been programmed to increase the odds that you will lose.
G. E/H. Connection puzzle. Connect logs and twigs with lines so all are connected and none overlap. The hard version requires more connections to be made.
H. E/H. Strategy puzzle. Climb up a mountain choosing locations to put your hands and feet. Feet cannot be higher than hands.
I. E/H. Tangram puzzle. Build two paths for you and Lionel to exit a cave. You must place the pieces into the grid so that two pathways emerge.
J. E/H. Ye Ole Beam of Light Puzzle. In this case place coupon tickets on a grid so they light up all squares within the grid by their correct placement. In the hard version, the grid is larger with more coupons to place.
BONUS CHAPTER:
K. E/H. Assembly puzzle. Position Bigfoot’s features according to a given diagram. In the hard version moving one part affects the others.
L. Maze puzzle. Lead a muskrat through a maze avoiding bugs in your path. You have 5 lives. If you run into a bug you restart.
M. Strategy puzzle. Place checker pieces on a checkerboard so that each row and column has the correct number of checkers as indicated at the top and bottom of the grid.

I really liked this game
Not sure if Big Foot is real but I don't care
Must admit - would not choose this type of game - but - hey ho I did - and I like it lots of thought needed to do things
Lets just hope the save Big Foot
Liked graphics - story line - must admit stars are getting in the way of playing the game!
But that's their tag - so let them have it
All in all not a bad game
Thanx

I have no idea what earning the stars is about - you get them for clicking on the obvious answer to advance the game - and I don't know what purpose they then serve.
As is common in these games, there are anomalies that you have to let slip. As a linguist I would love the ability to learn a completely alien language in a couple of hours or less, but two characters in this story can do it. Oh, and are we to trust a character who claims to be "the Sherriff" in Canada? Why does no-one wear a hat in freezing conditions?
I have made far too much use of the hint button to work out what to do next and have worn out at least two pairs of snowshoes running backwards a forwards.
All this is why it's less than 5 stars; it's quite entertaining nonetheless, as I've said, and worth using some points on.

WAY WAY too much back and forth to a point I stopped playing. I know it's to kill time and make the game longer. It's aggravating. Also, developers aren't listening. We are not in kindergarten. We don't need stars for obvious good choices. People have been complaining about those stars for ages and they don't listen.

The story is lame. Looking for an adventurer looking for Bigfoot who you find in ten minutes. Bigfoot is about as scary as a bunny. The Big foot in a bikini...is just ridiculous. I'm still trying to figure out the goal in this game as it's changed three times. Is the sheriff friend or foe?? Simple conversation they could find out but let's do a ton of useless puzzles and go through all of rooms for one piece of a tool first. I hate ragging on games but honestly, I don't feel there was much effort put into it at all. I'm done with DO games for now. They pump out the games with ENDLESS puzzles and zero story development. This was one of the worst I've ever played. The graphics are great. Loved them. VO's are great! And no bugs. So that's wonderful. But that's it. I'm not buying another DO game until they stop with the silly stars and have an actual good story.
I do NOT recommend as a CE game either. Get it on sale as a SE. It's a good game if you like endless puzzles for no reason.

On the bright side, the graphics and color were very good, no dazzling neon colors in the wilderness. The story's theme greatly appealed to me. I really enjoyed the demo HOPs and some of the puzzles. That's about it for the bright side!
However, there was lots of variation in the HOPs according to Sunnyglow's review. Way too many puzzles, the demo ones were colorful, not too bad but skipped some for the sake of time. I hated the tasks and that will never change because they are so ridiculous and the use of combined items never make any sense. How about some logic once in a while?
Domini fills their games with too many puzzles to stretch the game. The story is condensed, more suitable for Reader's Digest, in my opinion, and the endings are always abrupt. I don't enjoy an overload of puzzles, skipping many. That makes it a waste of $$ when I can't enjoy the entire game.
Although the graphics and artwork were very good, the Bigfoot-like creature looked less than threatening. I thought it odd that a cryptid such as this felt the need to wear a loincloth! Not a good job at all creating a "monster". To me, he looked silly.
The demo was boring, I try every one of them hoping for the best but it very seldom happens. CE content is always the same format and the collectibles don't add anything special. In my opinion just because the games are loaded up to the hilt with puzzles, it does not make them super-duper best games.
A HOPA means it should give us more hidden object scenes and more adventure. I want to enjoy the story and characters, not fiddle with an endless supply of puzzles. Maybe Domini will get on the ball and dust off the brain neurons after their long "vacation" and get back to creating games with the quality and adventure, solid storylines AND creatures that made their games so great. Just scarcely earned 3 stars. Show less

I started to play the trial and just thought I have seen this same scenario type before. There is nothing really new in this game. If you have never played one like it you may quite enjoy it but for seasoned players I think it is a bit ho hum. The graphics are good but I just was not grabbed by it at all

Not much fun, boring storyline and worst of all the objects in the HOG are tiny and unrecognizable. Dark background. So i just click everywhere after awhile of straining my eyes and eventually i hit a hidden object. Not my idea of and interesting or challenging game. So dull and boring that i did not even finish the demo.

There are things about Do games that I like, visuals are great, I like that I can set to 'zero' the skip & hint times, & usually the storylines are pretty decent. But what I do not like, is the 'lag time' between scenes, & don't get me started on the stars! They serve NO USEFUL purpose & just take up time that could be used for playing the game!
