The fact that this is a brick breaking game takes a backseat to the amazingly stunning artwork that makes up the scenes that we destroy piece by little piece in this game of ball shooting madness.

The bonuses are many and sometimes rain upon your paddle in groups of 3 or more at a time. Choose the "hints on" for a while so you can get a handle on what each bonus represents because there are some very unique to this game alone. Others are pretty usual to most brick breaking games.

There is a board to the right of the screen that has a lot of info that I like - what bonus you have just received, the number of lives left AND how much time you've spent playing the game. It's easy to get lost in the beauty of the artwork and game play so having an in-game clock is great in my humble opinion.

I keep going on about the beautiful artwork. It's maddening. It's moving. The hues and colors and shades make the pictures come alive! In fact, take a moment to enjoy it before you start shooting balls at it - lol.

The music would have been more appropriately Yellow Submarine than the noidy, techy arrangement that got on my nerves and seemed so out of place.

If you would like to try a world of psychedelic artwork that is almost more enjoyable to look at than to play the game, take an hour out of your day and try this free demo. I guarantee you will enjoy yourself.

I'm playing the Christmas campaign at the moment, of course, but there are 20 campaigns in this game, comprising of 50 levels,each, so you really get your money's worth. The drop bonuses are many, your cup will overfloweth, some levels will go by in seconds, others will take a little longer but you'll get through them quite quickly. Plus, there's an end of level bonus drop to get out of the level when you have three bricks or less left. There's nothing quite so frustrating in some games when you're trying to bust that one brick and it won't let you out unless you do so. I really like the music and atmosphere too, a bit dance club 90's, but it works. Show less

I used to own this game through another game site. When I got my new computer and stopped my membership to the site I forgot about this wonderful brickbuster. As close to perfect as a brick buster can be. Artwork is PHENOMENAL, ball action is superb, specials are interesting and helpful....except when they are NOT! so happy to have this game available again. I anticipate HOURS of wasted time!

How have I missed this game?
This reminds me of the DX-Ball from the late 90's/00's, but modernised.
Graphics fun, different difficulty levels, simple premise and game play, but tricky.
Simple, uncomplicated game without any pretentious annoying characters.

I recommend this game!

Hyperballoid golden pack is awesome, when Hyperballoid-2 came out I purchased it right away and it's good too, I had it before with someone else and couldn't redownload it when my computer crashed so when Bigfish had it I purchased it from them.

I recommend this game!

This game really nails breaking out style gameplay. You bounce off the ball off your paddle to break elements. When a brick is broken, you can get one of 25 bonuses, some helpful, some detrimental, and some that are in-between. I like that the game lets you warp to the next level once there are only three elements left on the game board.
Speaking of levels, the game has 1000. Each one is a picture made with different elements, with many using different physics. There are even 50 traditional levels for those who'd rather play something tried-and-true, but there's so much unique content here too.
The game's graphics are very nice, they have a cool high-tech aesthetic. The only thing that may be an issue is the fact that you can't turn off fullscreen. The soundtrack has some cool techno music, and you can put your own .mp3 files in the MyMusic folder if you'd rather listen to something else.
Overall, this is a straight to the point sort of game with plenty of variety in terms of level design and pictures. Really worth checking out. Show less

So with credits piling up and no recent releases of my favorites, I gave this a try. I needed a palate cleanser. Wow, has the genre evolved.

The value for your money is amazing. There are 20 categories and each has 50 levels - that is 1000 different "brick" patterns. And I use the word "brick" losely, because the breakable shapes are varied -triangles, circles, petals, etc. Some need to be hit more than once. Some are indestructable barriers, Some fade in and out and many patterns are in motion. And, I concur with other reviewers that the patterns are bright and beautiful, covering categories such as animals, flowers, Egypt, labyrinths, Christmas, etc.

No storyline, of course, and you have to keep your eyes on the screen, so it is not great for watching TV. But, this is well worth the price for when you want something a little different and don't need to invest days at a time. Show less
