In most of the games offered, the women always seem to be the heroines and the guys are basically treated as numbskulls; however in this game, the guy is the hero BUT once he finds the girl (early in the game play), she is NOT treated as a damsel in distress and the two together act as a team to work out the solutions to puzzles and in coming up with strategies to find the treasure and to escape the island. I feel that this is why I enjoyed this game so much.
Beware, however, of FRAGMENTED, color-on-color (most of the time) itty-bitty objects to find with some easy to moderate to complicated puzzles to solve. Personally, I skipped 2 of the puzzles (1 had to do with mathematics and despite the instructions I still could not make heads or tails as to what I needed to do and other 1, I just got impatient) but all-in-all the puzzles are solvable.
I found it interesting as well that you didn't have arrows to provide you with directions of travel but rather with something that kind of looked like an eye in which action of some sort was necessary in order to proceed.
I found it important to read the hero's comments as it provided a "heads up" as to what the tasks were going to entail.
After the credits ran, there was 1 more cut scene which indicated a possible sequel to which I look forward. Show less
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed playing this game! I found myself playing it one afternoon and was amazed when I looked at the clock and saw that two hours had passed - it was that absorbing. It was lots of fun to go with the characters to a mysterious island. As you moved around the island you ran into fragmented hidden object scenes, lists of hidden objects, and lots of mini-games that were fun and challenging to solve. My only complaint about the game was that some of the hidden objects were very small. What I wound up doing, after finding all the obvious objects, was clicking on all the areas of the screen. This helped me find more objects. If there were still one or two to find, I used the hint button. I thought that this was part of the challenge of the game though, and didn't mind too much. At key points in the game things were explained with cartoon scenes, which helped to set the stage for the next part of the game. There is danger on the island, and besides solving the problems, the characters have to find a safe way to avoid the danger and get home. It took me about 4 hours to finish the game, and it was time well spent. I definitely recommend this game. Show less

The minigames are fun enough (though I skipped one because I could not make sense of the instructions)
At one time hidden object games were fun. Enough interactive elements to spice it up, a plot interesting enough to keep you going, hidden object scenes that were easy on the eye....
Then they got swallowed up by adventure games, leading to demonic plots, and depressing junkpiles.
This is a game like they used to be. Show less

The Good:
+ FROG scenes
+ quite good story, told in comic style in cut scenes
+ adequate game length
The Neutral:
o some mini games are not explained well, but you are able to figure it out quickly
o quite fast hint recharge (you will need it!)
o sometimes you are stuck with completed objects and no clue what to do with them
The Bad:
- VERY TINY objects
- sound (this marks the first time that I voluntarily turned up the music volume to drown out the blings)
Bottom Line: Good game that apparently aged quite well. There are broad black bars on the side in full screen mode, making visible screen smaller and some objects tiny. The story - while a bit clichéd (your standard Indy Jones one) - held my interest for the 3 hours it took me to complete. Show less

Although short I found it quite enjoyable to play through this game with a mix of hidden object scenes and fragmented object scenes (HOG's and FROGs). There were also a few challenging puzzles. The one thing one needs to be aware of though is that the items can be quite small and fragments well hidden in similar colored background. If one has bad sight it might be tough to get through.
The graphics are ok. They are drawn which adds to the difficulty in the HO and FRO scenes as some items are hard to distinct at times. The style of the "cut scenes" is of comic book type storytelling and even though the story in itself is quite catching it fails to fully engage the player. IMO comic book style is not the way to go in games like these. I did also notice a few graphical glitches in some scenes, but not enough to make it annoying.
The music is of tribal folk type standard, and though ok at first it tends to get annoying after a short while. The sound effects are almost worse, and with the lack of voice-overs this game leaves a lot to be desired.
Game mechanics felt smooth all the way and cursor seemed perfectly on target. Items seemed to have a small aura so you didn't need to be spot on with the clicking. Hint function recharges quickly, though sometimes it wasn't helpful at all. It functioned well in the HO/FRO scenes but for inventory use it failed miserably. Wanting to know what a key did, I was told that the key probably opens something.... helpful indeed. Also, there is only one level of difficulty, but as the game is pretty straight forward going from one scene to the next, I guess there is no need for several.
The game comes to a conclusion but it leaves itself with an opening to create a sequel. I hope they do. With a little more experience and some more thought into the creation there is a chance for an improved game experience from this developer.
The game's rating would honestly be in the vicinity of 3.5, but bumped up to 4 because of the enjoyment I had while playing. I'd recommend this game to HOG and FROG fans with good eyes, especially if you catch it on a daily deal. You might want to try it out before buying it though, as it is not for everybody.
For the guys:
Strangely enough in a scene that is highly targeted towards the ladies you actually get to play a male character in this one. In the later stages you kinda play both. It should suit both genders fine to play.
I recommend this game!

Pam is kidnapped after discovering a strange medallion and her boyfriend James sets out to find on a strange island with ancient ruins. Enjoyable, challenging and well-balanced adventure-HOG-FRAG with a lot of variety. The graphics are full of detail. Lots of HOS – scenes are partially crowded in some spots and, of course, that’s where the objects are. Many are small and blend in well with the background (easier to find if you have a wide-screen). FRAGs are fairly easy.
Wide assortment of puzzles and mini-games. Although you’re given general instructions, you will have to think about how to actually solve some of them. Using a little trial and error and a bit of logic, you should have no problem figuring them out in a relatively short period. You can skip them if you’re having a particular “unthinky” day. Relaxing music. Ending had a twist to wonder about. Show less

This game is a mix of FROGs, HOGs, and puzzles. The storyline is good. The cut-scenes are a bit slow. The objects are sometimes difficult to find. The puzzles are easy. There is only one game mode. And... it's short: less than 2 hours. But for a break it's just enough. Because of the length, I would recommend it more as a DD.
