II love the diversity of the games --it certainly isn't boring - I can play this for hours - wish there were more like this one.
I definitely recommend this game.

And so can you .... just start the game. The big secret is ...... the game isn't really about him.
You start the game by gaining pages of facts about Leonardo Da Vinci. You meet him and he gives you chores to do. Then, you meet Magellan, learn pages of facts about him and HE gives you chores to do and so on and so on and so on.
At some point, you finally figure out that Nostradamus is the one doing the "speaking" on the bottom of the screen. Not much info is gleaned about him except he is scared of his "visions" and is looking for various ways to relax. BIG SECRET!
This is an HOG (hidden object game) heavy game. Every level is a different type of HOG - find the items in the list, find the differences, find "x" number of compasses or whatever. I quit the game when I had to find items that were in silhouette. Why? Because the items in the "list" HOGs were next to impossible to find. A "fish" in one scene was hardly bigger than a pin's head and, even with the help of the "hint", it was extremely difficult to locate. In the silhouette HOG, what looked like a lemon slice was, in fact, a well-hidden wagon wheel.
The mini games were extremely fun. Most likely the best part of the game.
The HOGs are untimed and there is a rechargeable "Help/hint" button. Also, a "goals" button in case you forget what you're doing. All are located at the top of the page.
There is way too much conversation and pages and pages of facts about other people - it makes the game drag on and on and on. The flow is terrible. It is extremely boring and not entertaining at all. For these reasons, this will not be a purchase for me.
I suggest if you want to know about Nostradamus, get a book. Show less

The objects are a little difficult to find but not impossible. The graphics are pretty and quite detailed for the age of the game. It was an abrupt ending like Great Secrets Da Vinci but it was much better. It was also a very long game.

The hints took a while to charge up. The skip button for the mini puzzles at the end of each chapter take about three minutes to charge. I spent a lot of time doing other things, while waiting for the skip to charge. As a rule, I dislike mini puzzles and these were mostly unimaginative and boring. There was one puzzle I liked, where you have to get stores aboard a ship but it didn't come around that often. The best thing about this was the storyline. Many interesting and famous historical figures feature, like Michelangelo, Machiavelli and the Medici's and they all have their own diary entries and storylines. There's a great deal of information, conversation and dialogue between them and Nostradamus. I really liked this aspect of it.

As a game it was adequate for fun and challenge however, the instability on Windows 7 makes it not fun. When you click on an object about every 5-6 one closes the game. The screen goes black and you have to restart. It doe remember yor place so its not starting over but still annoying. I will not purchase this game.
I don't recommend this game.

Usually I play a game for at least the full hour, but as it was so awful I only played for 20 minutes. The only game I would have loved to play would have been the rotate the squares to form a picture game but I never made it to that one!
Compared to the excellent hidden object games we have nowadays, I would assume that this was one of the first made and would make excuses for it if this were the case but overall, I would not play this for all the tea in china. Show less

There's nothing exciting about this Hidden Object Puzzle game, the graphics are grainy, the story is merely written pages of a diary, and the same scene is repeated four times before you get to move on to another scene. Granted each time you revisit the scene it's a different type of puzzle, the first is a typical listed item find, the second time you have to find 10 birds or 10 apples, the third time is a "spot the difference" puzzle where you find 10 differences between a split screen and the fourth and final time you revisit the scene you must flip over two cards at a time in a memory game where you must match identical images. This game was too boring to even finish the demo. Show less
