Storyline is excellent, I was very interested in discovering all the clues. Visuals are really good. Music is barely noticeable, but sound in the background were creepy and they contribute nicely to the atmosphere.
Sadly no map, only notes and your top secret documents that you collect along the way.
There are two types of hidden object scenes – one classic with listed objects ( interactive ), and other with shown objects that must be placed on the right spot.
Puzzles are numerous, most of them are tricky but that’s what makes it worth playing.
Really cool game, I recommend trying it out! Show less

I was not disappointed with this game as it ticked all the boxes. An interesting paranormal storyline about secret human experiments, is coupled with great graphics/sound in an amazing adventure. I was not disappointed with this game as it ticked all the boxes. An interesting paranormal storyline about secret human experiments, is coupled with great graphics/sound in an amazing adventure. There are many original puzzles - and this is the best part - some are more difficult than others which is just how I like them as they make the game much more interesting. Also if you choose the advanced level like I did, items are not highlighted by sparkles and are more difficult to find which also makes you feel good when you find them. Overall a great experience, i will definitely look at the other ones in the series. Show less

Whoa! Demo scared me off lol!! Returned to enjoy this sci-fi paranormal-themed game. I don't understand why this game doesn't have more Rave Reviews unless the CE has them all. Moves at fast pace in finding and using needed objects and has a wide-open approach. No claustrophia for Gamers!! Loved the Sci-Fi Creatures!! Loved 'em!! Enjoy!! Mama Mia

Not your typical run down, abandoned, disorderly hospital, there are guard towers on the perimeter of the hospital. The story takes place in the year 1915. Scientist are experimenting on patients (who are soldiers), trying to create the “perfect soldier”.

•Three modes of play casual, expert and hardcore

•No map

•Hint button will zoom in on a needed action & show you what item you will need, if there is nothing to do in that specific scene it will not show you where to go or what to do next it merely states there is no abnormal activity here (but there may be a task that you need to perform), it can be very misleading.

•Inventory, I carried one specific item almost all the way through the game before I used it. You will carry certain items for a good length of time. Perhaps my logic of things to do and places to go did not match the dev.’s intentions, this did not stop me from proceeding in the game it just meant I held onto certain inventory items longer than I should (at least that is what I think).

•HO scenes are junk pile and in some instances dark, sometimes items are rather small and yes, even in expert mode you have sparkles.

•Two types of HO, standard hide and seek from list (very limited interaction) and place items into scene. You will need to think outside the box (ie: use a knife to open a can of food).

•While there are several HO scenes (a dozen?), I would say this game leans more to adventure/investigative genre.

•Graphics are “grainy”, not crisp and clean…this is an abandoned run down hospital, so it felt appropriate to the game.

•Approximately 6-7 movie scenes that you probably should not skip as they help to understand what happened to the patients.

•Music is, well it was so “background’’ that I didn’t even notice it.

•Sound effects are very good, creaking, slamming, like a haunting should be.

•Occasional voice over by the doctor who hired you was well done, he is sick and dying, the actor performed very well with accent intact.

•Some to & fro but not excessive, as there are no chapters you have free range to roam throughout all scenes whenever and how much as you like.

•Length of play, there is a clock in your journal, mine stated 4 hours 42 minutes that is without skipping any puzzles and getting stuck (I missed the wrench).

Overall the game exceeded my expectations. It is quite challenging. Be sure to check BFG walkthrough, or if you just want a hint check the forum.

Beginners may get frustrated, intermediate challenged (apparently self-proclaimed experts as well- insert smiley face here) and hard core players, well I can’t imagine! Show less

Mystic Hospital is a very good game. There is a lot of back and forth and at times it causes confusion which the walk-through can clear up. The HO scenes are usually very bright and clear with well hidden objects and a small number of HOS involve putting objects back into the scene. Odd, but it works. The cut scenes are very well done and the voices are not overplayed. I enjoyed the game even with the back and forth. The puzzles were another story. The majority of the puzzles were boring rote games with only a few real bright spots, but then I dislike puzzles. I did not find this game quite as good as its running mate, Cinderstone, but the differences were minor. Both were very good or better for me. The story line was a bit farfetched and weak, but at least somewhat interesting. Show less

Nice graphics, well done HOS, interesting puzzles, good length and chance to use your memory skills. The only complaint are the sparkles for the HOS even in advanced mode.

I love abandoned houses and buildings and in this game the rooms in the abandoned hospital is very good.

I also liked that no ghosts nor spirits appeared but the skeletons were kind of cute. You should try to touch some especially the one in the elevator.

I liked the humorous comments of the player character when he/she got an item, too.

I recommend this game!

Available at BFG since 2011. Review based on completed game. YOU SHOULD KNOW STRAIGHT AWAY, THERE'S NO MAP. Walk around a deserted and dilapidated olden day hospital, gone to rack and ruin. This game was quite a challenge on Expert, because there are items that you can only find by scanning the whole screen. If that and the slow tempo of the game appeal to you, you'll enjoy it. In the easier option, you do get glints. Personally, I didn't enjoy the cut-scenes because of the nature of experimenting on people, it made me uncomfortable and so I skipped them. However, it isn't a scary game. BFG does have a walkthrough.

GRAPHICS – Neutral colors. Widescreen (being a bit stretched- but still ok looking) or Full screen.

HOPS: 12-15. Two styles: 1) Wordlists and 2) returning items to spots they belong in. Words keep getting added, which I liked! More fun!

PUZZLES: All skippable
SOUNDS - with 2 adjustments: Music and Sound. Not a game big on sounds or sound effects.

MAP: NONE
JOURNAL: YES, stores codes etc.
DIFFICULTY SETTINGS – 2 – not interchangeable.

HINT: In Expert, the most you will get is a "nothing to do here," and sometimes you will get a window open up to show you what needs to be done at that spot, but won't show you or help you to get the item you need. BFG does have a walkthrough. I had to use the walkthrough about 3 times to locate items I'd totally missed.
INVENTORY –Stays visible at all times.
CHARACTERS: Mainly you see characters in the cut-scenes, which I skipped. Show less

A perfect mixture of Horror, Science Fiction, and Mystery! The storyline is amazing, and while the graphics aren't the best, the pictures and videos still sent chills up my spine!

A lot to do ...both types of hidden objects ie usual and placing objects

Its also adventure with a lot of hunting about for things
