I don't know why there seem to be so many complaints about dark screens, poor graphics, small screens and blurry texts. I have a 27" screen and the game took up the entire frame. The graphics were great (in fact, quite pretty and bright), and text was clear. I played hard mode, which gives you more complicated mini-games than the easy mode. Hard also supposedly has a slower hint recharge, but it was still plenty fast. No voice overs, but I prefer text to badly done voices. My only complaint: awful music, so I would minimize music. Diary has a lot of information which is not from gameplay, so it's best to read it if you want the entire story, which includes clues to follow. This game is a buy for me. Show less

I agree with the few who gave positive reviews for this game and don't understand the multitude of complaints: this is a good little game and technically speaking, for me at least, it filled my wide screen monitor completely and the graphics were clear and realistic.

The atmosphere is appropriately spooky and not overly dramatic... a nice change from the same ole same ole busily embellished graphics and scenes so common now in almost every casual game that comes along.

Overall, a nice little detective mystery and pleasantly eerie diversion for a rainy afternoon or dark of night.

I am bumping my star rating up a bit to balance the overly negatives so as not to deter potential fishies from trying this game and will definitely purchase this adventure(ish#-heavy game #ie. it requires you to "work" a little to figure out the game scenarios as the mystery evolves).

BTW: Though no proof, I suspect a few of the 'newer' games may have copied the format of some aspects of the game and not vice-versa as some suspect.

I don't understand why some people didn't like playing this game. I liked it a lot & it didn't have any darkness in the game at all. The game was easy to play, cause if you ever got stuck you can click on the hint & it would tell you which way to go next. The story line was not that bad at all. This game has come a long way in just 3 episodes. The first game was nothing but seek and find items spewn about massive rooms (I did like finding magnifying glasses for hints and the sonar hint system) the second game upped the graphics a tad bit and added interactive zones within each scene as well as mini games, and this edition has really upped the ante with spooky graphics, well done ...Show more

The first game was nothing but seek and find items spewn about massive rooms (I did like finding magnifying glasses for hints and the sonar hint system) the second game upped the graphics a tad bit and added interactive zones within each scene as well as mini games, and this edition has really upped the ante with spooky graphics, well done characters (still no voiceovers but a lot less dialog boxes to sift through) This game features more of a storyline centered around the disappearance of Mr. Walsingham the owner of the Walsingham Manor. Manor's are always haunted and this haunt seems to be centered around a ghostly painting. I can honestly say this game is worth a credit at the very least but I wouldn't waste time on the previous Detective Agency games, enjoy! Show less

I did not experience any of the problems a lot of the other reviewers seemed to have- my scenes were not dark and I had no more trouble than usual finding the objects. I did not miss the voice overs as I usually mute them anyway. I thought the graphics and the storyline were fun and I did really enjoy this demo enough to buy the full game.

I recommend this game!

Really not that bad of a game. No voiceovers but still ok game. Did not think scenes were too dark as I was able to play with glasses on. Some games must have my face right up to screen. Objects small but not that bad actually. Have played much worst games.

I just played the demo and did not have any complaints about it being hard to see. I have not yet decided if I will buy the game or not but I don't know why so people rated it so poorly. The game took up my full screen.

That is the only word that describes this game. It took me three tries (using a different name each time), and I also downloaded it again, but once it rolled it was worth the effort.

The text windows annoy me I assumed voice ( my fault ) big red arrows pointed in each direction has alway bugged me last, when you have a area option it doesn't pop up you , you have to go to it and half the time when you click on it it doesn't even let you know if it's part of the game play but when you go back again it is part of the ...Show more

I am not wasting a free one. The game is not so bad. I am very hard, on games so take a chance on, this one. If you don't you are harder on games than me.
