You have been invited to an underwater hotel for the elite and wealthy, with a promise that you will learn who your parents are. You have spent your whole life searching for answers, the only clue you have is a pendant, so naturally you accept the invitation. Things aren't as they seem and someone is trying to keep you from the truth. An ancient artifact was discovered that allows you to experience dreams, any dream you want, but it soon becomes difficult to tell the difference between dreams and reality! You can even bring some things back but, nothing alive! This game has a good story but other than 16 collectible roses, I don't think it's worthy of CE status. The HOS are a mixture of progressive finds as well as interactive list finds. The mini games are fun but nothing new such as turning discs to complete a picture but each ring controls another ring. The beginning of this game starts out a bit slow but the story picks up and clues of who your parents are and who you are become clearer which in turn gets you hooked to learn more. Show less

This is an interesting story with a unique premise from GOGI You were left at a London orphanage in 1957 with only a necklace and now 25 years later you receive an invitation to take a cruise on the Emerald Maiden to find your mother. In 1957, Dream Corp also just happened to invent their dream machine, powered by ancient technology discovered in the Amazon. Is your mother the scientist?
To move the story along, there are lots of videos (at least 12 or so) from film reels you discover. Plus, your main contact on the ship seems to be a hologram of an old man who gives you hints every so often. You meet a young scientist who seems real and tells you your mother is on the ship. You find a HelperBot to reassemble. There is a monkey running wild in the ballroom. A shark tries to attack the ship's skylight. And someone has cracked a glass panel allowing water to seep in. Did I mention the cruise takes place under water?
There are so many stories going on -- the Director of Dreams seems a little bit crazy and destroys the elevator! But it makes you want to play past the demo to see how everything gets resolved. And the Dream Corp logo is slowly being replaced by a new logo -- a sideways "I" within a circle. Hmmm!
The extras include a Bonus Chapter, the Strategy Guide, Character Profiles, Art, Sketches, Wallpaper and Movies. There are 16 - or 20 - roses to collect, an interactive map with Objectives, and 4 modes of play, including Custom. There are three types of HOS -- interactive with pictures, lists, and silhouettes. The puzzles are easy, and the hint button - on the left side - points to the direction you need to go.
The demo didn't send you on any dreams, but you did find a card for Paris - where Alice Williams #your mother?# got married! Another storyline!
This is a fun game with a lot of twists and turns that are different from most of the current HO type games. This is a buy for me! Show less

I found it refreshing and relatively easy to play especially after the lastest MFC game, because I needed to play a game that was not so challenging and off the wall.
At the very beginning I was a bit confused with the story line but didn't skip any cut scenes or film reels and got to grips with it just before the 1 hour trial ended - I then bought it and resumed play today, and I was not disappointed at all.
The graphics in the HOS were as usual for Gogii very good, crisp and clear, and some objects are cleverly hidden - no need to use a magnifying glass for this game as they are in plain sight, just very well hidden.
If you are looking for a fairly relaxing game who's story line is a bit different from the norm then this is it in my opinion.
My only gripe is that some reveiwers have said they skipped the cut scenes and film rolls as they didn't understand the storyline, my advice would be not to skip them as they are there for a purpose, as in they help you to understand where the game is going.
I am looking forward to the sequel because the ending certainly hinted at one - unless you skipped the last cut scene. Show less

SUMMARY: Very different. If you want a straight-forward easy-to-follow story, this isn't it. SUMMARY: Very different. If you want a straight-forward easy-to-follow story, this isn't it. This game plays a lot like a strange dream: you know the one, all kinds of things are happening, but you don't know how or why or when they will connect - you only know that they will. Easy but fun puzzles and HOS.
STORY: This game has the most interesting storyline I've come across lately. At first, it seemed the usual story - a child given to an orphanage shortly after search, wants to know her history, yada yada. But once she gets her invitation to a dream facility underwater, there are so many twists, turns and discoveries in what appears to be a land of make-believe (i.e., the typical dream), that you can't wait to turn the next corner to see what happens.
GAMEPLAY: So many enjoyable cutscenes, a smattering of easy but fun puzzles, lots of scenes (you get a map) and lots to do, typical list-based HOS (but uncrowded and easy-to-find objects), find the shown object HOS (which are then placed into the scene to complete an object (such as a robot or projector) so it works. Objectives are given periodically. Since magic is supposedly meeting science, the twists and turns and areas to explore are mindshattering and take the same turns as your dreams do. Keeps your mind on its toes.
OTHER STUFF: 3 modes plus a customizable mode to an extent. (There are a few more sophisticated customizations out there, but this is still nice.) Nice unobtrusive music. Graphics are clear and the many types of locations are dramatically different but beautiful. Even though the scenes are so distinctive, they flow together seamlessly. No too much in voice overs, but what there are seems natural.
CE v. SE: Besides the bonus chapter in the CE, it seems the only collectible is 16 roses. The other CE items seem to be the standard fare - wallpapers, character profiles, et al. I don't think the CE has enough these days to warrant a CE price, so the SE seems to be the way to go. Show less

What a wonderful game this is! The storyline is fantastic, really engrossing and grabbed me right from the beginning. The story is told through a lot of cutscenes and movies, it felt like being in an interactive movie, really well done! HOS can be challenging, but done in a beautiful way, no junkpiles. Puzzles are easy and well known.
The only thing about is that I don't really think it is worth the CE price, I'll wait until the SE comes out, trial it and then make up my mind. But it will be in my collection, whatever way!
Try it and enjoy! Show less

This is a very relaxing game. It's more HOS than puzzle, but the HOS scenes are clear and uncluttered (for which tired eyes are grateful) and somewhat unique as finding and using things in multiple ways is necessary to finish the scene. In this regard, the HOS's are sort of mini puzzles. The puzzles themselves are not hard and I found myself enjoying the ease of solving them. There are three levels of play and one for customizing. As I say, it's a relaxing , fairly easy game, so the casual setting may not offer any challenge at all. I've been playing in Expert mode.
There's a transporter map ( I won't buy a game without one) and indicators where things need to be done.) The art work is first rate.
Also, the story holds together well, and the central theme of entering and exiting dreams to find things adds to the storyline and elevates it above the usual artifact/evil spirit/rescue someone games.
This isn't a game that will having you scratching your head and making trips to the strategy guide, but you'll have fun while appreciating the thought the developers put into creating a very satisfying experience. Show less
