Yep, I'm a puzzle freak, not only are there 7 boxes containing a total of 1001 puzzles, BUT, every puzzle picture is exactly the genre I love. Yep, I'm a puzzle freak, not only are there 7 boxes containing a total of 1001 puzzles, BUT, every puzzle picture is exactly the genre I love. I prefer animal pictures and landscapes and that is exactly what you get in this edition, Earth Chronicles. There are of course beautiful sunsets, flowers, beaches, forests and even underwater landscapes. Most of all there are animal pictures, wallabies, hamsters, squirrels, dogs, cats, lions, bears giraffes, sea turtles, peacocks, chimps, lemurs, pandas, hippos, and all kinds of exotic birds and mammals!

There are 7 trophies to earn and a feature available that allows you to modify any puzzle with the amount of pieces from 15 to a whopping 345! You can also choose the cut style from straight pieces to curved, and choose whether the pieces can be rotated or not. This is my favorite feature because if you like one of the pictures but there are too many or too few pieces, it's an easy fix. Each puzzle allows you to image the picture on the top left in x1, x2, or x3 size. You can Ghost the image on the background and choose from 4 different colored backgrounds. There is a hint feature and a magnifying glass, and you can store extra pieces in the box selection. There are also features that allow you to choose just the border, and sort the pieces. If you are a puzzle geek and like me, you love the animal pictures this one fits the bill. I can honestly say that I liked every picture in this edition. I was working on a 345 piece modified puzzle of a lake scene and was almost finished when the demo ended, can you imagine how many hours of enjoyment 1000 more puzzles can bring, enjoy! Show less

I love the variety of puzzles, and the options available to increase or decrease number of pieces used. I find this both a challenge, but also very relaxing. Only downside, is when picture is finished, it only remains on screen a few seconds. This is second of their jigsaw puzzle games I have bought.

These computer puzzles took some getting use to, mostly because of the small pieces and of course it just isn't the same kind of "seek and find the right piece" challenge that is required for the table puzzles. My physical disability now has me in bed most of the time, so computer puzzles have become new friends in my life.

Was so thrilled with the variety in this set. So many animals and nature pictures. The entire set was just perfect for me. I finally decided to start with the very first puzzle and work them all in order to the very last one and choose the most pieces available for each puzzle, to make it more challenging. So much fun!! I own all the Chronicles puzzles now so have lots of fun and work to look forward to.

This particular one is my favorite though because of the wonderful animals and nature pics. They are all so beautiful and the variety is great. Amazing photography and vivid color. I like the special "tools" to help you if needed.

I've noticed lately that many of the puzzles offered by other developers contain staged pictures of all sorts including people and food and just boring things. I greatly dislike all of that. And the Holiday Puzzles are just full of that stuff. Just another reason for my love of the Chronicle puzzles.

Hopefully, more of these fantastic puzzles will be coming to us soon. It has been a while! In my opinion, they are the only true quality puzzles available here at Big Fish. If you haven't already guessed, I highly recommend this game! Show less

Then with the advent of the PC that all changed and now there are great jigsaw puzzles available for whenever I want them. So I wonder why, I purchased this game when it was released but never got around to playing it. I guess my love of HOPA games sort of moved into first place. Recently I have decided to get back to looking at a variety of games and finding this one in my purchase history was terrific and fit the bill.

Turns out that I wish I had paid more attention and hadn’t lost this game somewhere along the line. I guess as I changed laptops, I needed to install a new GM and this little gem got lost in the process. Well I am happy to say the lost is found and I am not having a wonderful time playing a new puzzle or two every day.

Something I absolutely love about this puzzle game is that the puzzles are all themes that I love. Perhaps the animal ones take the top place but the other types follow closely behind. If you are looking for a great jigsaw puzzle game then this is the one you want. Not only is there a great variety to choose from in the puzzles but we get to do all sorts of different things such as choose the style or cut of the puzzle pieces to the size. You can choose between a smaller or larger number of puzzle pieces and it all depends on your preference. If you want a little extra help then you have a feature for that as well. As far as I’m concerned this game has it all.

Even though I love this game and promise myself that it will never get lost in my gaming library again, I always recommend that you try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming! Show less

this is a good jigsaw with lots of options - I would like to see the creators add a means where the actual puzzle size can be changed - outside dimensions - when you get the larger number of pieces in a 4x5 inch or so area, it is difficult to piece together - it looks like pieces do not belong shape-wise, but yet they fit - it would be a more realistic solution if the pieces were more true to size ...Show more

I am a fan of the 1001 Jigsaw series, and this first one is a good start. The 1001 images are nice, and though not as high quality as they will be in later games, are enjoyable to work. The gameplay, however, is solid; there are several options, including the ability to adjust the number of puzzle pieces, that make the game infinitely playable for all skill levels.

I recommend this game!

Game Play:
Here is where I began to love this game and then came to dislike it so much. You choose a picture from 36 pages in each of I believe 7 boxes. That's a LOT of pictures. But there's no rhyme or reason to how they are categorized - they're not. Animals with floral scenes with architecture. Would have made more sense to categorize them. Or, maybe it was done no purpose, to better keep our senses in a state of awe. Who knows. Anyway, you can modify the shape of the pieces and increase or decrease the number as you wish. Once a picture is chosen, you can choose a background color, although the actual color is way off than the chosen color. Shame. Then, you can choose to sort the pieces by just having the border pieces showing then the rest of the pieces will come up. You have an image or ghost of the picture if you need to refer to it. There's a lot of leeway with what you can do.

Unfortunately, as wonderful as this game appears to be, and regardless of the cute pictures I saw that would keep me busy for a long time, the fact that I had an extremely difficult time picking up the puzzle pieces, moving them to any location, and connecting pieces together will keep me from purchasing this game. It's unfortunate because I really liked it until I started playing it.

Just because this Glam-ma isn't interested doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. It's an hour long (I stopped way before that out of frustration) and it's free to try.

Why cant you put the option in to play the puzzles with the original colors or the mono chrome colors? When I started to go through all the puzzle pictures, I thought how lovely the colours were - however - every single puzzle I've done is not in vibrant colour but in shades of blue and peach - even the beautiful flowers don't correspond with the colours in the picture.
