I fell in love with this game from the very beginning, and I'm still loving the ongoing saga endured by Edward and Lynn. This legacy began when Carrie rescued Lynn from Elizabeth, a terrible witch who killed Lynn's family, and turned her dog into an Imp! The legacy continued with the Queen witch, Morgana who tried to lure Lynn to the darkside, Lynn resisted and since then has only used her powers for good. She met Edward and fell in love with him, but their relationship hit a bump when Lynn discovered that Edward was a witch hunter! They worked this minor problem out, and were married one year ago. Slumbering Darkness brings us even more drama when a powerful sorcerer kidnaps Edward and demands that Lynn follows willingly, or she will never see Edward again!
I wish this game would have stuck to the circus theme, because I loved the atmosphere of that creepy circus under the big top, but just like the other Witches Legacy's, Lynn will use her powers to create portals that allows you to travel to weird places as Carrie and Lynn attempt to rescue Edward from the evil sorcerer. That cute Imp (wonder what he looked like as a dog?) has his bags packed and is ready at a moments notice to retrieve items that otherwise would have to be written off. There are plus items on some of the inventory items which indicate that some type of interaction is required before you can use that item such as combining that item with another inventory item. There are also several achievements to earn, including using the Imp's assistant. There are 36 hidden jigsaw pieces that can be assembled when you find all pieces, to learn a story about that character. There are also 33 Morphing objects to find which is my favorite feature.
The Hidden Object Scenes are extremely interactive, you might have to find items such as keys or masks, to unlock the list first, and then there are several items that are interactive within the listed objects. You can opt to play a Matching game, by flipping over two cards at a time to match identical pictures, but the HOP's are really entertaining and none are boring in my opinion. Mini games are just as entertaining, there are small games in zoomed in areas where you have to find several objects on the outside of the zoom, and there are longer, more complicated games such as leading a train to the tunnel. There are three trains of different lengths, that need to be guided to different slots in order to clear the tracks to allow the train that the imp is conducting, to the tunnel.
This Collectors Edition has Wallpapers, Screensavers, Achievements, an Art gallery, 36 hidden Puzzle Pieces, 33 Morphing Objects, Soundtracks, Puzzles, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! Show less

As been the case with soooo many games; the demo is so short that I'm finished within 20 to 30 minutes, when of course, it offers 90 minutes. With this game, thank goodness, I only had 18 minutes left. WooHoo!!!!!
Other developers, please pay attention to this. I have been playing these games for years and this is the first time in at least a couple of years, where I am thrilled that it took almost all of the 90 minutes, but also, it was FUN! An aside about me, personally, I live in a lot of pain and these games are a refuge, so I thank you all for the games, even if I may get disappointed - I never take them for granted! They are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!
I happen to love the imp - adore him, he is my favorite helper. Getting him to snorkel (spoiler alert, sorry, as I can only write 1 review# and then fly on a broom to get you what you need - priceless. I love all the extra touches too - only 1 example #there are quite a few of them, but I won't spoil too much); clicking on the horned face dude and him growling and his eyes lighting - Yum! I laughed out loud, couldn't help it. I'm sure for those who have played the demo there are other parts that for me and maybe for you, that the same thing occurred. :) :)
Nothing is better than a thought out game, that is not only challenging, and this one IS, but to add the antics to effect our mood is a huge plus!
Only negative from me, is work on the lip syncing, that's all. I never tire of this series and someone else pointed out; that it needed to be put to bed and the imp given back to Morgana.
Well, she is in this too, so there you have it and the imp wants to be with us - how fortunate are we.
I highly recommend this game! And I won't be waiting for a sale. Now I just wish I could get back 1/2 of what I paid for; the other game I did pay full price and deeply regretted it.
Thanks for listening; Have a great day everyone and THANKS again to all the hard working developers! Show less

My favorite bewitching games are back with another in the Witches’ Legacy series. In Slumbering Darkness as Lynn and Edward are attending a puppet show at the county fair as they celebrate their first anniversary. Unfortunately, the unthinkable happens when Edward is turned into a puppet by an evil warlock who promises to destroy Edward unless Lynn comes along so off they go (yes, you guessed it) through a portal. Once again you are on a journey to save your beloved Lynn from the powers of darkness and all the trouble that Lynn seems to attract.
The game comes to us from one of my favorite developers who always presents great games packed with hours of entertainment and mystery. The graphics are excellent and at least for me, crisp and clear. The lip-synced voice overs are very good but poor Lynn always sounds like she is half-asleep.
Your trusty companion Imp is back to tag along and provide help when needed. Although Imp does look a bit creepy, I love his antics when we need his help with something. The game has an interactive transporter type map that is excellent. Something I like about the maps in this series is that they indicate when you still need to find morphing objects or puzzle pieces. Although there is not at diary, Imp holds a scroll that when clicked will open to show us our objectives. As we collect puzzle pieces throughout the game, we will build puzzles that give us more of the background story.
There are various types of interactive HOPs, some are the standard list type and others are silhouette type. I like the HOPs in this series as they always contain mini-puzzles. This developer was the first one to use this particular method that has since been emulated by other developers in recent games. The puzzles are not difficult but they are still fun to complete.
IMHO, CEs from this developer always give us a lot of value in that we have the extra challenge of finding morphing objects and puzzle pieces in every scene in the game. Throw in the SG and the other “fluff” and we have a great value.
Although someone commented that Slumbering Darkness is the same rehashed storyline, I still find it to be enjoyable and a wonderful game that stands on the merits of its gameplay, which is at times challenging and definitely very entertaining. The last game in the series took me well over two days to complete and I am hopeful that Slumbering Darkness will continue with that same wonderful gameplay and game length. Needless to say, the game was an instant purchase for me but, as always, I recommend that you try it to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Show less

This is a great game in a great series. If you haven't played the previous ones, they are summed up in a story HOG early on. Everything about this game is first class. You can click anywhere and objects move -- it is so clever.
You are once again Lynn's adopted mom Carrie, who saved her from the witch Elisabeth and then the witch Morgana, and now the "super witch" Thetis wants Lynn's body to return to. Lynn is a good witch, married to Edward, a witch hunter. Edward is turned into a puppet and Lynn is captured and of course you jump right in to save them both!
The Imp - who used to be Lynn's dog and is now your helper - is back, and his animation is one of the cool things about this series. He needs a mask and breathing tube to dive into the water, but when he emerges, he grunts and shakes his head to get the water out of his ears. Climbing onto a broom to fly up to an object, he has to learn to balance and steer the broom. It's subtle, but funny.
Ther are 12 story-related achievements, plus 4 puzzles with 9 pieces each to collect, and 33 morping objects - one in each scene. The demo lets you finish one puzzle, and hear more history about the characters. The map marks activities, plus collectibles.
The HOGs are varied and special. There are the normal lists and silhouettes - with a twist - plus the zoom windows that require you to find all the parts of an object you need, like a train. You can play a Match game instead.
The mini-puzzles have multiple stages -- find all the objects to complete a figurine, make the doll, then play a game using the doll in a scenario. There is so much to do! I played the demo for 88 minutes and thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope you will too! Show less

Hi all. Wow, what a nice surprise today! This is the 5thin this series and yes, I have the other 4. This is by far the best of them all. Graphics were very well done, with excellent animation. Colors are very bright and true. Game play was excellent, no lag, no problems and it fit my large screen very well. Yes, the silly little Imp is back, but he is quite helpful and how they use him is very well done, e.g., you have to find things in order to use him, won't tell you what. Voice overs are very well done and fit the character and action at the time. Music is nice as well, and I didn't even have to turn it down, which is unusual for me. Sound FX are very nice.
HOPs are well done and are a mix of silhouettes, lists with riddles and interactive. You can switch to a match game that is fun as well, for a little change of pace. HOPs are fairly clean, but are a bit challenging. Puzzles are different, not extremely difficult, but do make you use your brain a bit. Map is quite helpful, as it also shows you if you have found all of the collectibles in that scene...I do like this feature. Makes me work a little harder.
There are a lot of achievements: how often you use the Imp (14 times), completing puzzle boards, etc., and the usual stuff you see elsewhere. There are 33 morphing objects that can be found in a standard scene or within a close up. These are not as easy to find as you may think. There are also 36 jigsaw puzzle pieces that are not hard to find, but for each 9 you collect and put together, it gives you more of the story behind the game. These can also be found in close up scenes. Very nicely done.
At first I wasn't sure who was talking, since Ed was a puppet and his girlfriend had been kidnapped...then it came to light as I progressed in the game. I was drawn into this game from the very beginning and it flowed so well, I didn't realize my time had gone so fast until it ended. The story is nothing new, but it is very well done and game play makes it a very nice game. Do I want more, absolutely! Am I going to get this one...already downloading! I think this game will appeal to all levels of players and has just the right amount of challenge, along with everything else, for me to give it 5 stars. This is something I rarely do, but I think this one is worth it.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in game and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews. Show less

VO's were superb, but with Lynn's mom her VO was good, but she could have gotten a little less excited to where everything appeared to be a major crisis and it seemed she was yelling. Wolfgang boomed out too this time around.
Story: The evil people set up a carnival to lure Lynn and her hubby into a trap. Once they got into what appeared to be the fortune teller's hut, the evil dudes opened up the portal to snatch Lynn and turn poor Edward into a puppet. Now we are on a mission to save Lynn once again. I know more of the story but don't want to spoil. But as much as I love this series, maybe they can rescue Lynn a couple more times and put this series to rest and let Lynn and Edward lead normal lives with their best buddy the imp.
Graphics: On my comp they were gorgeous graphics. No problem in the H0G scenes either.
Music: Fit the game outside of H0GS nicely and added to the game. In H0GS (sorry EleFun but it sounded like a bad version of Chopsticks).
Mini Games: Two I had to look at the guide, but the rest were really fun. On the repeat the sequence one, thank goodness you only had us do it once. Between that one and the image slider puzzles, those two can R.I.P..
Hint System: Don't use it for the H0GS, but for the other part of the game it was awesome. Couldn't of done no better.
Map; Exclamation points of something to do there, footprints to show where you are, and a star to show there is a collectible there.
H0GS: Different variety of H0GS from list with green words for extra step Items, also on these you would collect pieces of something to get a whole item, silhouettes, to where you open a main item and collect 6 pieces of it.
All in all it's a wonderful game, and I am truly enjoying it. Kudos to a team for a game well done. Show less

Witches' Legacy : Slumbering Darkness is the fifth in the series that follows the life of Carrie and her adopted witch daughter Lynn and their constant struggle against the evil witch Morgana. This time Morgana is set on bringing back her mentor THETIS so witches can rule the world. This is your standard hidden-object adventure story with everything ramped to eleven, the graphics, the animations, the gameplay, and especially the melodrama. Featuring hidden object scenes that have a variety of different ways to play including lists, silhouettes, categories, and lots of fun little puzzles hidden inside, this latest in the series continues to shine in the gameplay design, offering enough variety of puzzles and mini-games to keep the player occupied for hours.
While it serves up gorgeous graphics, cool animations, and hefty point-and-click casual gameplay, the best part of the latest Witches' Legacy is the ooey, gooey, massively over-the-top cheesy storyline. The back story of the series is revealed nicely as you go, so even if you haven't played any of the previous games, you don't feel like you're missing anything too important. Just point-and-click to navigate and find items to interact with. Items you pick up will automatically go into your inventory on the bottom of the screen, and items marked with a plus sign mean you can further interact with it, or join another item with it. There's not a ton of backtracking, and if you don't know where to go next you can use the map to jump to whichever scene you'd like, and helpfully, areas with something to do are marked with an exclamation point. If I learned anything from playing this game, it's that witches really love their emblems, symbols, and figurines. As you navigate the sometimes surreal landscape your goals consistently require you to discover missing bits of puzzles that have been magicked away or tucked into a hidden-object scene somewhere. The hidden-object scenes mix it up a bit, with silhouettes and mini puzzles stuck in there along with your regular list of objects to find. The game does a good job of making these scenes seem useful, leading you to find the next important thing you need to continue instead of just sorting through piles of trinkets for no good reason. Should you tire of finding objects, you can switch to a matching game instead. And if that isn't enough object hunting to satisfy you, keep your eye out for puzzle pieces and morphing objects in the scenes along the way. With side-quests of morphing objects, puzzle pieces, and toys for your companion imp to find as well as the standard objects needed for any adventure, Witches' Legacy: Slumbering Darkness offers tons of entertainment bang for your buck. Recommended for players of all levels! Show less

It always amazes me the developers can think up new and interesting storylines...well they done it again with this game. If you want to be entertained, play this game. I like the "Imp" character, the interactive HOG, such a variety. Thank you BFG for another great game. Job well done!!
I recommend this game!
