Tonight is the grand re-opening of the Taylor Hotel. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself as it hosts the Second Illusionist Championship. You remember that fateful night very well, because you are the journalist who won a Pulitzer Prize for the coverage of the First Illusionist Championship. Unfortunately, things don't go well this time either, because that wouldn't be very "dangerous" so now you must play a wicked game with an Illusionist who has some pretty deadly tricks up his sleeve. Can you survive this terrifying ordeal and separate what is real from illusion?

I loved the fact that every puzzle and hidden object scene kept true to the genre with magic tricks and illusions. You will find a pair of Truth Goggles that will reveal hidden doors, passageways and hidden props, before using them you will have to recreate images shown by combining several shapes.

The Hidden Object Scenes range from interactive list finds, finding multiples of a single item, to progressive silhouetted shape finds. Each HOP has codes to decipher and small puzzles within to add more interactive features. The mini games were all based upon illusionist tricks and very creative. One such game required you to synchronize two clocks to show the life cycle of a bird. The left clock shows changing images of a birds life, and you drag tiles to the clock on the right to create a matching life cycle.

The Collectors Edition has 20 Morphing Trick Cards, Wallpapers, Concept Art, Music, Videos, replayable Mini Games, Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! Show less

BASED ON COMPLETED GAME & BONUS PLAY

This is a 2015 game and it was in my top 2 favorite games for that year.

The SE portion of this game took me 4 hours
The bonus play to the CE took me 1 hr. 45 min
Total play for me was 5 hours 45 min.

This is one of those games that just gets better after the demo which is a rare thing. The graphics are clear and colorful. The cut-scenes are amazing.

It's funny because in Chapter 1 (pg 6 of wtg) there is a poster on the wall of a woman in the hotel. She looks exactly like Gene (Eliza)Tierney. Even though she is decades before my time, I've always been a fan of her on the silver screen.

There are several great HOS here & a storybook type with pop up paper type characters the illusionist does tricks in.

The game feels as if love, time and money went into every detail is thought out. It is a long game compared to those coming out in later years.

You collect morphing trick cards. I absolutely adored this game from beginning to end and would rate it higher if I could. I will definitely play this game again as the replay value is super high.

I played the Beta version when it came out. I was anxious to see when the full version would be coming out. The demo is only 30 min so basing my view on beta and demo. The graphics are beautiful. So far the story line is easy to follow. There is a interactive map that lets you jump and shows where you have something to do. The HOS are varied in types. it is an ok game. there is a map that is interactive and shows objectives you need to do. good hint system. i have played better games from these devs. it is a long game. i had to cheat once because i couldn't figure out what to do. some of the mini games are kind of hard.

I recommend this game!

I so wanted to like this game, but unfortunately that isn't the case. I've enjoyed other Blam games and thought this would be of the same quality. The demo was so short, and had I gone by that, I would not have purchased the game. However, I just knew it would get better. I "tricked" myself.

As you can tell, I didn't enjoy playing this. It just wasn't fun. It is goofy and I like goofy, but this went beyond that. I know now why it came out in the SE version so soon.

The graphics are great and the voice overs were very good. Colors were nice and bright and the music went along with the game. That evil laugh made me laugh a few times.

The hidden objects were different in style. There were a total variety from lists, to putting things together, to silhouettes. Nice assortment. The mini games, that's another story. I could not figure out what in the world to do in many of them and I was just thrilled that the skip button recharged quickly. Now, understand, I do not care for minis in the first place, but when I can't figure out what to do, that's a horse of the different color. The challenge with them is just trying to understand. You have an interactive map which is great and a must. No journal I could find, and not necessary anyway. The hint as well as the skip buttons recharge quickly which is a must anymore for me. The biggest challenge to the whole game was getting the cursor where they wanted it to be. Seldom was it ever on the object you were trying to find or the area you are trying to color. I believe that was the most frustrating thing about the game.

The story started out pretty good and then it just took off without me. This mad illusionist comes back twenty years after he's burnt up in a fire and then at the the end... well, you can figure that out. I was just bounced around from land to land without seemingly much regard to how I got there.

Having said all these negative things about this game, I bought it, but if you play the demo, just remember there is a lot more game where that ends. Be warned. Show less
