Beautiful Mahjong With Creative Patterns

Mahjong is one of my least favorite game genres, but the beautiful artwork and amazing mahjong patterns really sold me on this game! There are six different mahjong locations, and 20 games per location, so there are plenty of games to keep you busy for hours. There are only 3 tile patterns to choose from which is a bit disappointing, but what I enjoyed the most was the unusual layouts, my favorite was the stiletto.

The object of this game is to remove matching tiles that aren't blocked by tiles either on the sides or on top, the faster you remove the tiles, the higher the score you earn. There are flower tiles and season tiles that can be matched to any other tile of that category even if they look different. Removing Silver tiles will restore the Shuffle feature, and all Gold tiles must be removed to win the level.

Each level will have several goals that must be completed to achieve a three star game. You must remove every gold tile, (gold tiles can be matched to regular tiles if they are the same pattern) and you may also have to complete the level within a specific amount of time, or within a specific number of moves, or earn a specific amount of points. The more regular tiles that are left on the board gives you a higher score, and any level can be replayed if you want to achieve a higher score, enjoy! Show less

I am new to this type of game. However, I am loving it and I absolutely enchanted with this one from the same dev who produces the O'Ekaki (nonogram) games. What a beautiful game. I must admit I am new to the whole Mah Jong genre. I really don't quite understand and have not learned all the nuances of this game. And, I am not even certain I am that "into it" yet. One thing I do not understand is why you must play each scene more than one time??? I think the last one I played you only played each scene once,

I played about 20 minutes and will purchase with a coupon. Nice game for me to focus my thoughts. Thanks BF. Hopefully a few more nonogram games will be forthcoming as well. Show less

Hi, fishies!

This is a nice game for mahjong enthusiasts. There's not much of a story, just get through a bunch of games, collect masks, and become the king of "Carnaval".
GRAPHICS: 5 out of 5. Very pretty. 3 tilesets to choose from (I love the glass-like alphanumerical). Excellent for those of us without perfect eyesight.
SOUND: 5 out of 5. Lovely music, changes often enough not to get boring. ...Show more

GAMEPLAY: 4 out of 5. Not a lot of how-to instructions, but it's fairly intuitive. You have an option to change cursors.
FUN FACTOR: 4 out of 5. If you like mahjong, this is a great little game. Challenging for those who must have all the gold stars, but no timers for those who want to relax.
OVERALL: 18 out of 20. Very nice game overall.

Cannot figure out why BFG would do this. Hard core mahjong afficionados should enjoy this stylish looking game. This is why I provide it a 4 star rating. However it's nothing I would ever purchase. Big part of the reason I like Mahjong is that it is a relaxing zen kind of game. So no "do it in 20 moves", please.

If I purchase a game, I do not want to have to make "milestones" to continue to -- in this game -- other locations. It is very difficult to make point limits to gain stars which you need to move to other locations. I have played the Level 1, first game many, many times and cannot make the 3000 point milestone to receive 3 stars. What a waste of money!

I don't recommend this game.

This game help system has not really helped any with getting past the third level. There is no true explanation as to how to get enough points to progress. Some sections have two sets of points required and the higher seems to be impossible to reach, thus making the game not only disappointing but so frustrating you have to give it up.

I don't recommend this game.

While I like the solitude of Mahjongg and Solitaire games, there has to be something extra going for them -- such as a story to keep me interested, which there wasn't -- or bonus power-ups or upgrades. Unfortunately, Mahjong Carnaval 2 had nothing extra to offer.

I found the graphics be be very basic with no additional hoopla to make the game exciting. There was no fun animation of the tile sets or encouraging sounds or voices when you made spectacular moves.

The main reason for my low rating was the fact that I could not get a perfect 3-Star score on the very first level. I re-played that level eight times, changing my strategy each time, and there was no way to score the required 3000 points. I always strive for a perfect score so being frustrated on the very first level was maddening.

There are just too many other great Mahjongg games out there, so I recommend you try one of those. Show less
