I love the contrast colors, shades of grey's with a touch of red. I'm always amazed at the simplicity of these types of games, fill in a few boxes on a grid and ta-duh, a picture appears! The Asian themed background music will soothe and relax you, hopefully all the way through to the 12th "room". The Asian themed background music will soothe and relax you, hopefully all the way through to the 12th "room". Each room has several levels with the goal being to earn 3 coins for each game which can be used to purchase extra hints etc. I really like the variety of grid shapes right from the beginning so you don't have to do a 10x10 grid over and over. The tutorial will take you step by step so if you haven't played this type of pic cross (griddler, mosaic or whatever name you go by) it is very easy, and addicting so kick back and enjoy some relaxing music and have some fun! FIRST IMPRESSIONS
This is the second in a new series of nonogram games (sometimes called pictographs, and the same type of puzzle as the Mosaics series). Like the first Asian Riddles, this game is sweet, delicate and peaceful.

SIGHTS & SOUNDS
Really, the only difference between this series and any other nonogram series is the atmosphere. Done in beautifully detailed graphics, with wallpapered borders instead of ugly black bars, the game is just a joy to look at. Likewise, the music is serene, Asian in tone, and ethereal. This is a very peaceful game.

The one jarring note is that the games are timed and time constitutes the top score system. (For which I have docked it one star)

GAMEPLAY
The gameplay is standard for this type of game and almost identical to the first. The ‘contest’ gives you a limited number of hints and allowable mistakes, and you play for coins, which you can use in the ‘shop’ to buy hints, or add allowable mistakes, or gain access to the next level. Each new level increases in difficulty, but the hints and mistakes allowance also improve.

To mark a tile as empty, it is possible to either change it on the interface at the right hand side, or right click. I like the tiles the game uses, as they look like tiles, and the sound effect putting them down is appropriate.

To begin with, the game is incredibly easy it seems, but the limited number of allowable mistakes and hints available makes it a bit of a surprise. It doesn’t take long, anyhow, to move from 5x5 grids, to 10x10 grids, with none of the dead-easy 10x10 grids that are normally used to ease your way into trickier grids.

There are 12 rooms containing 12 levels in each. Your performance is rated using a three-star system, and you must get all 36 possible stars to move to the next room – unless you buy your way in. You can repeat any level as many times as you like to get the full rating.

The one major difference with this game from the first is that it does not seem to have trophies, so far as I could tell.

VERDICT
I am not good enough at these type of puzzles to be able to compare the degree of difficulty at higher levels, but at the lower levels, they do seem to be more difficult than other games like this.

If you like these sorts of games, and especially if you could use a challenging one, I think you’ll love this one. But don’t be put off by the challenge. It is a flexible game, and you can learn as you go.

As with most of this developer’s games, it is definitely zen. Show less

IMO this is better and more difficult than the first Asian Riddles.

The style is simple but as the puzzles got harder I thought actually it was a good thing.

Like a previous reviewer I was a little annoyed that I had to resort to guesswork a couple of times, but so far that was only two of the puzzles.

I think this game is really good value for money. I bought it about the time it came out and I still have way to go. It's hard to remember how you solved a puzzle the first time so you can play the same puzzles many times over.

Although World Mosaics are more colorful and more "fun", I liked this one a lot. There's a new one out, Mystery Riddles, that also seemed very good, but I don't think that one's out on Big Fish yet. Show less

I love this kind of game. I bought Gemsweeper, World Mosaics (several of them) and Royal Riddles (bought all the rooms). But, as Royal Riddles, this one is only in one color. I think it is quite boring. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars. This is a very very special kind of puzzle game and you can keep playing for ever and ever... but in one color... I really don´t like.

I recommend this game!

I've had it. Too many of the puzzles end up with having a few spots that cannot be determined by logic. You JUST HAVE TO GUESS.

I can put up with the few allowable mistakes, with the same boring background, with not being able to fully appreciate the completed picture. BUT IN A LOGIC GAME NO GUESSING SHOULD BE INVOLVED.

The first Asian Riddles was a very funny game.
But the second is just awful, because it got impossibly hard from the second Level on.
In addition, there are no trophies, so no real goal.
And as another gamer wrote, in a logic based game there shouldn't be that much guessing.
I removed this game from my computer because it was no fun, just annoying and frustrating.

I don't recommend this game.

As in any numbers games of this type, the object is to form pictures by "opening" tiles on the game board both horizontally and vertically using a set pattern of numbers you are given.

The initial tutorial, after you muddle through the horrible English, is fairly well put together. The graphics are ok. The background music serene. After that ..... game's over (so to speak). The clanking sound that's made when you "open" a tile
is, though, extremely annoying.

After the first 2/3 levels, the game becomes incredibly difficult. You do earn hints in the form of butterflies, however, the number of "mistakes" you can make is unclear to me. I did not see where that number would be indicated, however, I was told on more than one occasion that I had many too many mistakes.

By the time the demo was over (and I couldn't get to the end fast enough), I had made it past 8 levels and had been working on level 9 for an incredibly long time.

This game is probably best for those who have a knack for these types of games. Beginners would probably get restless, bored and annoyed. It's not a buy for me. I've had a marathon for the past 3 days of this type of game and I think I've found my personal favorite. I hope everyone gives this a try - before you buy.

I am a big fan of games like this. I bought the first one and almost all others BF has ever offered in the past 4 years. And... it sounds so silly but I do not like the black and white color scheme. I probably won't buy the game because of the lack of color. Silly huh?
