General Tips
- This is the official guide for Cadenza: The Following.
- This guide won't tell you when to zoom into a location; the screenshots show each zoom scene.
- Hidden-object puzzles are referred to as HOPs. Only the locations of HOPs will be shown.
- Use the Map to fast travel to a location.
Chapter 1: The Hotel
- Talk (A).
- Select (B), then offer.
- Talk (C).
- Talk (D).
- Examine (E).
- Take MANDOLIN (F).
- Take AMP SWITCH (G) and SILVER EMBLEM 1/2. Examine recipe; select Irish Coffee.
- Select cream (H), coffee and whiskey. Take IRISH COFFEE.
- Offer IRISH COFFEE (I).
- Select (J) and offer.
- Move forward.
- Talk (K).
- Select (L) and offer.
- Move items (M); take TUNING KEY.
- Move down.
- TUNING KEY on MANDOLIN (inventory); take SILVER EMBLEMS 2/2.
- Take ELECTRICAL TAPE (N). Add SILVER EMBLEMS; open. Take SCARF and MUSIC NOTEBOOK.
- Offer MUSIC NOTEBOOK (O).
- Select (P) and offer.
- Move forward, get instructions, then move down.
- Talk (Q); take MAP.
- Move forward.
- Offer MAP (R).
- Solution: (S) B-D-F-G-H-C.
- Take ROOM KEY (T).
- Remove tape (U); take TRUNK LEVER.
- Take SQUEEGEE (V), look right. Take BUCKET. Add and turn TRUNK LEVER. Remove items, take TIRE IRON and REMOTE CONTROL.
- Use TIRE IRON (W). Answer phone. Examine and open phone book; take PAPER NOTE 1/3.
- Use REMOTE CONTROL (X).
- Press buttons (Y).
- Play HOP (Z); receive PAPER NOTE 2/3.
- SQUEEGEE in BUCKET (inventory); receive CLEANING KIT.
- Use CLEANING KIT (A). Open panel, examine; take PAPER NOTE 3/3. Examine; take RAZOR BLADE. Add PAPER NOTES.
- Arrange symbols (B). Take CAR KEY.
- Insert CAR KEY (C); open door; examine. Insert CAR KEY.
- Move to Town Center.
- Take BROOM (D). Examine; add AMP SWITCH, connect cable, turn switches, then turn on.
- Take SID'S JOURNAL (E).
- Move down.
- Look left (F); take METAL EMBLEM 1/2.
- Open SID'S JOURNAL (inventory); take METAL EMBLEMS 2/2 and DIAGRAM.
- Add METAL EMBLEMS (G). Add DIAGRAM.
- Solution: (H) F-B-H-E-(K-L)-(K-M)-(M-0). Take KEY CARD.
- Insert KEY CARD (I).
- Play HOP (J); receive COMPACT DISC.
- Insert plug (K); turn on. Read poster. Remove drum screws; take STUN GUN.
- Use ELECTRICAL TAPE (L); turn on.
- Use RAZOR BLADE (M); remove plastic. Examine; insert COMPACT DISC.
- Move forward.
- Examine (N); take DIAMOND RING. Use BROOM; remove stones; take DEFROSTER.
- Use STUN GUN (O).
- Enter Piano Lounge.
- Take GLASS ORNAMENT (P).
- Examine (Q); move forward. Insert GLASS ORNAMENT. Take MAGNET; use DEFROSTER. Take PIANO EMBLEM.
- Insert PIANO EMBLEM (R).
- Play HOP (S); receive PIANO WIRE.
- Move down.
- Examine (T); move forward. Use PIANO WIRE; receive SAFE HANDLE.
- Enter Piano Lounge.
- Take POOL NET (U). Remove painting. Insert SAFE HANDLE; read journal; take 8MM FILM.
- Move down (V). Use SCARF. Add 8MM FILM. Play HOP.
- Take DOOR EMBLEM (W).
- Return to Town Center.
- Use MAGNET (X); receive HOTEL EMBLEM.
- Move flowers (Y); use POOL NET. Take FIREPLACE EMBLEM.
- Move forward.
- Examine poster (Z). Try to enter. Examine. Take FIREPLACE HANDLE. Add DOOR EMBLEM, HOTEL EMBLEM and FIREPLACE EMBLEM.
- Enter Hotel Lobby.
- Talk (A). Take SID'S NOTES.
- Take BELT (B). Use DIAMOND RING; take BRONZE LATCH.
- Move items (C); open bag; take GUITAR AMP, then SILVER LATCH.
- Take CABLE (D) and GLASS ORNAMENT 1/2.
- Insert FIREPLACE HANDLE (E).
- Solution: (F) (C-B)-(B-A)-(C-B)-(D-E).
- Take GLASS ORNAMENTS 2/2 (G).
- Return to Piano Lounge.
- Move forward (H). Insert GLASS ORNAMENTS; open; move items; take BAR SPOON.
- Return to Hotel Lobby.
- Use BAR SPOON (I); receive RED-HOT LATCH.
- Move down.
- Take MUSIC STAND (J). Insert RED-HOT LATCH; receive GOLD LATCH.
- Enter Hotel Lobby.
- Add GOLD LATCH (K), BRONZE LATCH and SILVER LATCH.
- Play HOP (L); receive GUITAR.
- CABLE and GUITAR on GUITAR AMP (inventory); then MUSIC STAND, SID'S NOTES and BELT. Take GUITAR SET.
- Use GUITAR SET (M).
- Solution: (N) D-B-E-F-O; I-A-L-M-O; N-G-H-J-O.
- Enter Elevator.
Chapter 2: The Tunnel
- Insert ROOM KEY (O); press button for 0204.
- Move forward.
- Read (P).
- Take TOWEL (Q). Move items; take DIRTY KEY CARD.
- Take IRONING KNOB (R).
- Take BROKEN LED LAMP (S). Insert IRONING KNOB. Add DIRTY KEY CARD; use iron, then towel. Take KEY CARD.
- Use KEY CARD (T).
- Move forward.
- Examine (U). Take WORKER EMBLEM. Take AAA BATTERIES.
- Remove panel on BROKEN LED LAMP (inventory); add AAA BATTERIES. Take LED LAMP.
- Use LED LAMP (V).
- Read note (W). Take SICKLE. Insert WORKER EMBLEM.
- Play HOP (X); receive BOLT CUTTERS.
- Take ACID SYRINGE (Y). Use BOLT CUTTERS.
- Go to Music Shop Parking.
- Use ACID SYRINGE (Z).
- Solution: (A).
- Enter Shop Inside.
- Take TELEPHONE EMBLEM 1/2 (B) and SAX FIGURINE.
- Find items (C). Take SUITCASE LATCH.
- Move down.
- Undo latch (D); take CONTROL CABLE. Add SUITCASE LATCH; open; move items; take TELEPHONE EMBLEMS 2/2.
- Insert TELEPHONE EMBLEMS (E). Take AMP LAMP.
- Enter Shop Inside.
- Take TRAIN CONTROLLER (F). Move forward. Add AMP LAMP; press.
- Play HOP (G); receive CONTROL BATTERY.
- Return to Tunnel.
- CONTROL CABLE and CONTROL BATTERY on TRAIN CONTROLLER (inventory).
- Add TRAIN CONTROLLER (H).
- Solution: (I) Arrange tracks to match screenshot, then press B-C-E.
Chapter 3: The Docks
- Move up (J).
- Take OILCAN (K).
- Take SHED EMBLEM 1/2 (L). Read note. Use SAX FIGURINE; take COLLAPSIBLE SHOVEL.
- OILCAN on COLLAPSIBLE SHOVEL (inventory); take SHOVEL.
- Use SHOVEL (M). Take VINYL RECORD and SHED EMBLEMS 2/2.
- Insert SHED EMBLEMS (N).
- Play HOP (O).
- Add VINYL RECORD (P).
- Go (Q).
- Take FISHING LINE (R) and SCRAPER. Use SICKLE; find items; take BIG HOOK.
- Take SAILBOAT EMBLEM (S) and FISHING ROD.
- FISHING LINE and BIG HOOK on FISHING ROD (inventory).
- Use FISHING ROD (T).
- Take FIRE EMBLEM (U). Insert SAILBOAT EMBLEM.
- Play HOP (V); receive HARPOON.
- Use HARPOON (W).
- Enter Orphanage Yard.
Chapter 4: The Orphanage
- Take PEG 1/3 (X). Turn; take PHOTO PART 1/3.
- Take PHOTO PARTS 2/3 (Y). Use HARPOON.
- Solution: (Z).
- Enter Orphanage Interior.
- Take SPONGE (A) and METAL RULER.
- Move (B). Take COAT.
- Take HEDGE CLIPPERS (C). Use SCRAPER; take PHOTO PARTS 3/3.
- Move down.
- Use HEDGE CLIPPERS (D). Add PHOTO PARTS.
- Solution: (E) (F-G)-(G-H)-(H-A)-(C-B)-(F-E)-(E-D)-(D-C)-(F-E)-(E-D)-(G-F)-(F-E)-(F-G)-(G-H).
- Solution: (F) (B-G-E-D-B)-(C-F-A-H-C).
- Open note (G); take RUSTY KEY.
- Enter Orphanage Interior.
- Open COAT (inventory); empty pocket; take CLEANING FLUID.
- Pour CLEANING FLUID (H); add RUSTY KEY. Receive KEY.
- Insert KEY (I).
- Enter Janitor's Room.
- Take PEG 2/3 (J). Empty box; take CAROUSEL ORNAMENT 1/2.
- Take LADDER (K). Add FIRE EMBLEM; take BROKEN VIEWING DEVICE.
- Take RED LENS (L).
- Reattach knob and eyepiece on BROKEN VIEWING DEVICE (inventory); add RED LENS; receive RED VIEWER.
- Use RED VIEWER (M).
- Play HOP (N).
- Take CAROUSEL ORNAMENTS 2/2 (O).
- Go to Orphanage Yard.
- Insert CAROUSEL ORNAMENTS (P). Take PEG 3/3.
- Enter Orphanage Interior.
- PEG on LADDER (inventory).
- Use LADDER (Q).
- Go to Grace's Room.
- Take DRAWER HANDLE (R).
- Take VIEWING DEVICE (S). Attach DRAWER HANDLE; take DIARY EMBLEM.
- Insert DIARY EMBLEM (T). Play HOP; take BLUE LENS.
- BLUE LENS on VIEWING DEVICE (inventory); take BLUE VIEWER.
- Use BLUE VIEWER (U).
- Play HOP (V).
- Take WINDING HANDLE (W).
- Insert WINDING HANDLE (X). Take box; add and turn WINDING HANDLE.
- Go to Music Conservatory.
Chapter 5: The Concert Hall
- Examine (Y).
- Take GLASS CLEANER (Z). Move board; take GAS TORCH.
- Take BROKEN GLASS (A).
- Take WALKING CANE (B).
- Move down.
- Use METAL RULER (C). Open.
- Play HOP (D); receive SCREWDRIVER.
- Take TORCH PART (E). Use BROKEN GLASS; take GAS CANISTER.
- Move down.
- Use SCREWDRIVER (F); take BROKEN STARTER.
- TORCH PART, GAS CANISTER and BROKEN STARTER on GAS TORCH (inventory).
- Use GAS TORCH (G).
- Enter Conservatory Reception.
- Open (H).
- Move forward.
- Take CHARGER (I).
- Move down.
- Take HEDGE CLUE (J). Add CHARGER; take BREAD SLICER.
- Move forward.
- Take MUSIC BOX PART (K), place HEDGE CLUE. Use BREAD SLICER.
- Solution: (L). Take KEY NOTE.
- Move down.
- Use GLASS CLEANER (M).
- Play HOP (N); receive KEY.
- Move item (O); take MUSIC BOX PART.
- Take CROOKED ANTENNA (P). Use WALKING CANE; take KEY TAG.
- KEY and KEY NOTE on KEY TAG (inventory); receive RECEPTION KEY.
- Insert RECEPTION KEY (Q); take MUSIC HALL KEY.
- Insert MUSIC HALL KEY (R).
- Enter Concert Hall.
- Take PAINT THINNER (S). Use CROOKED ANTENNA; receive CLUE.
- Return to Conservatory Courtyard.
- Add CLUE (T). Adjust symbols; pull handle.
- Move forward.
- Take TRUMPET PART (U) and MUSIC BOX PART.
- Take MUSIC BOX PART (V). Add TRUMPET PART; take PIANO PEDAL.
- Move down.
- Add, then press PIANO PEDAL (W). Take MUSIC MEDALLION.
- Move forward.
- Take MUSIC BOX PART (X). Move paint; use PAINT THINNER and SPONGE. Add MUSIC MEDALLION.
- Play HOP (Y); receive MUSIC BOX BASE.
- Return to Concert Hall.
- Add five MUSIC BOX PARTS on MUSIC BOX BASE (inventory). Assemble box (Z); receive MUSIC BOX.
- Use MUSIC BOX (A).
- Solution: (B) 1-2-3.
- Solution: (C) 1-2-3.
